I'm okay with either point system.

The 4.5 points were generous, the 3.5 points are more than adequate. No worries on my part Scuudz, you should get more points than us since you completed the race.

Thanks for changing the recap Battman!

Giving them points for showing up is cool. Like I said, its not going to affect my placing at the end of the season anyway LOL

The reason I ask about protocol for awarding point to disconnected racers is because it might affect people that are more competitive at the end of the season. For example, say Coach loses out on second spot in the season to rynedee by 2 points at the end because Coach gets disconnected in the last race of the season. How will you handle that situation?

Just something to think about so that there is no confusion later on. Might be worth adding the points system for disconnected racers to the rules in the OP too.

I don't want to set any hard rules for that because I will award points on a case by case basis. For a rage-quit you get 0 points, but these guys were being competitive. So I figured it was fair to give them a 5th place tie.

The original 4.5 points was a mistake on my part. I had given you 4th place tie points instead of 5th place tie points because I had forgotten that scuudz got 4th place.
 
Batman, for fastest lap time you can 'save replay' and check it out that way with the live timing monitor. It has everyones best lap on the far right hand column. You will have to play the replay to the end obviously, and that sucks

Also congrats on what your doin
 
No worries Battman, I was referring to the original point system (10, 9, etc.) and the new and improved F1 point system (25, 18, etc.).

Any points earned for an almost two-lap disconnect are nothing but gravy... : )

Just found this thread again. For some reason I forgot to subscribe in the first place. I have been working too much to do any online racing lately. Hopefully after the holidays I will be able to change my schedule around and join you guys.

Hey all great racing and turnout last night! We got 9 in the room and it went pretty well with some small battles going on throughout the race. I have not watched the replay yet, but I will do that tonight and post a full recap and results.

I know that next week will be a little iffy with the holiday. We could run on Tuesday if that works for everyone. Please send me a PM (so we don't flood the thread) if you can run on Tuesday or not. If I get enough people in for that we will do it. I will update the OP with people's responses. Thanks!
 
The race started off with a bang followed by some carnage in turn 1 of lap 1. As you can see from the final results vs qualifying times, there was a large shake-up. From there things settled down as everyone moved into their positions and fought their battles. rynedee and boltzz_ battled for first, with boltzz_ eventually pulling away. I (battman23) successfully fended of both SkylineR88 and CoachRostved for the remainder of the race and turbotim3 and XR-42 battled for much of the race until XR-42 prevailed. T-Money645 eventually caught up to CoachRostved and he did make a pass, but was unable to hold on for 5th as CoachRostved took overtook in turn 1 of lap 10. Three position battles in one race was great to see.

I want to thank everyone for coming out and I hope we get a turnout like this for all future races. Results are below.

Have you all been able to update to the new v.1.05? I'm still having trouble with the servers. It disconnect in between 50 and 60%. I hope it will be possible before tonights race.

Edit: the update is now successful :) But just an advise for you guys, if you still have not updated, then set some time of to it, so it won't get to late tonight :D

I hope you guys had i great race. I got kicked from the game server just as the race started. The servers has been troubling me unusually today.
Anyway - hope you had a great run, and I wish you all a merry Christmas and a happy new year :)

The next race will be January 6th as next week is off for the holidays.

I will be posting a recap of the last race tonight. I actually got sick about an hour after the race on Tuesday (food poisoning) and finally got off of the couch today.

Hey guys. Sorry for the lack of updates. I am going to get the standings updated and post a race recap tonight. The next race will be this Thursday @ 7PM. The race will be held in my lobby and the course will be Suzuka / 10 Laps.
