Hey guys

Is there any way to get a Formula 1 car without paying for it?

10,000,000 for one will take me a week to get it!!!:(

also the american race LVL 23 , what car can I use , all my cars have too bad cornering abilitys to win it:(

Use a ZR1 RM'ed for the American Championship and it's a breeze and as stated, its 4.8m in Used Dealership. :)

corvette? ZR1? RMed??

sorry what are these abbreviations!!:)

thx for the help

Corvette is a car made by Chevrolet, ZR1 is the type of Corvette and RMed is race modification, this can be done it GT Auto and turns your car into a racing beast!

i need to keep saving got just over 1 mil in the bank. wish you could earn interest while i slept!

um , ok I got the Zr1 and its Rmed and Im still losing , it cant take the turns faster than 250km/h.......the other cars all over take me on the turns:(:(:(

You need the best tyres the event will allow. Also make sure you do all engine/intake/exhaust mods that you can.

I did the American Series with a normal Corvette, tuned up, but standard transmission en soft tires. Also a wing mounted on the back. Was no real problem winning then. No racing modification

On The ZR1 use soft race tires and make sure you have full downforce on the front and no more than about 50 or so on the rear.

You should be able to hold it full throttle and get laptimes in the low 43s high 42s with ease even if you bump the wall in the corners. A good clean lap I can turn high 41s with it but low 43s are more than enough to smoke the AI.

Or just buy a Formula Gran Turismo car and do the race as intended. It's a serious challenge. Fair enough getting the car is a pain but it is worth it in the end.

I posted this in GAF but I will post it in here too.

For those of you who haven't experience the **** fest that is acquiring the Formula GT and racing it in the corresponding event, let me highlight some "fun" parts.

-You have to save/grind 4.8 million credits or more
-You will likely see the F1 GT in your used lot just before you have saved enough. A fantastically subversive "**** you" from GT5
-Every one of your favorite cars you want to buy will appear in your used lot tempting you to blow your saved cash
-As soon as you hit 4.8 mill, expect the F1 GT to return when Halley's Comet does.
-You will need to spend another 500k to rebuild the engine giving you ~936HP
-The F1 GT event is all 20 lap races, you cannot save mid event
-The awful AI is exacerbated by the twitching high grip F1 cars
-There is no qualifying so you have to test out all of the tracks in your F1 car ahead of time to make sure your gearing is perfect
-You will always start each race in 7th. Remember, open wheel F1 racing is all about "tradin' paint"
-You will get spun out numerous times each race on matter how careful you are
-This will be some of the most exhausting challenging driving you will do because on lap 15 you will be smashed by a car and go to last place and have to drive near perfect the rest of the race to win
-You will earn absolutely **** all for XP
-You could have earned 10x as much $ if you just grinded Indy 5 lap than you would spending half the time completing this event
-The total prize amount for winning every race and golding the event will be less than it costs to rebuild your engine
-You will now have a F1 GT car with less than 840HP because of the event wear and tear
-You will have net lost nearly 6 million credits and several hours of time

+You have an F1 GT car and one event golded

Welcome to the world of Gran Turismo.

also for the ZR1 on indy make sure the downforce is all the way up, will add MUCH more grip in the turns, i don't let off the brakes at all the whole time

the one positive actually heavily outweighs all those negatives....

with the formula GT, you can enter it into the majority of a and b spec events. its a money maker. regular events, endurance events, doesnt matter. just click start and sit back and watch bspec bob lap the field.

I already have the Toyota Minolta that I won from the Like The Wind race and I didn't have to go through the inane, tedious task that is finding a Formula GT car. (Which I still have yet to find mind you)

Don't forget to mention that the Prizecar is a Fireblade, which you can buy in used cars for 48,000cr

Haha, yeah forgot to mention the prize car that I already owned before the event. Nothing like a six million dollar investment, sore shoulders and an afternoon gone for one event.

You also forgot
- when you finally see the FGT in used car lot, you can't buy it because you are not level 24 yet.

It boggles the mind that you can enter the race at level 21, but you can't buy the car you need until level 24 :grumpy:

I had already bought the fireblade as well. You can imagine my jaw when that goofy maintenance guy drove it out of the dark.

I'm pretty sure once I realized what car it was he just looked at me and went

I am the luckiest man alive.

I won the Dream car Championship, which gave brought my bank account to 4.907 million CR.

The same series leveled me to level 24

After the race I checked the used car lot and there was a Formula GT.

I have checked the used car lot every refresh cycle and never seen a formula GT.

I was dreading waiting for it after I had the cash ready

I've seen the Formula GT 4 times now. I wish I had the 4.9M every time I'd be trading those things left and right.

On topic, of course it's worth it to buy the Formula GT. It's not about buying it just for the championship, it's the second best car in the game and it makes endurace races so much quicker. What else are you going to spend your credits on at that point?

Can you go on this event with the F1 2007 or 2010?

I think it's far easier get 10M than searching for one smashed car on used dealer.
