Why do things seem to go relatively smooth until the early 20's and then everything drops off like a cliff?

I'm running out of events, done all the special events, Licenses (I'm iC) don't yield much exp anymore, and exp has slowed to a crawl...

This tells me that online was probably meant to have some progression but now I'm looking at hours of A-spec to unlock just the next single event...

There appears to be a hole here... and a huge gapping one at that... I want MORE! I'm OK with repetition but not a grind that an MMO game would be proud of...

Has there been any Kaz tweets or other comments on how this will be addressed besides the "big" December update that I refuse to get my hopes up that it will have anything to do with this issue?

What would be better is if there were many more race series. What is there, like 12 per level.. there should be much more, which would make the grind less grind-like :)

I got gold for most of the licenses and special events(not all, but most), and I've only redid maybe 10 races at most(out of interest, not grinding) when I got to first endurance race(lvl 25). The only A-spec series I have not raced is the F-GT. I think Finishing(and golding) IB and IA, and S license will yield quite a bit of exp....

Completely agree... and it seems like a rather easy solution... but I would call for easily 10x more events... You should never be focused on leveling alone, but leveling and having fun... Grinds are an antiquated concept...

I really do think large chunks of the game were removed just to get the game in a shippable state and with GT having been in development for so long it's pretty easy loose focus on how hard it is to go from deep development to final product...

Thanks, I'll do that... I just find it hard to find the motivation for licenses as they have been removed as a restriction, and I liked that restriction...

I agree. How hard is it to just make a new event? The tracks are already there - just set a theme or a limit and we're good to go. Some of the events only have one or two races, too. There should have been many more events in this game.

If you gold everything available to you right now including licenses and all the events, you will not have to grind at all. Finished everything up to the Grand Valley and right on track in terms of Aspec level right now (26). I did notice when I finished the Grand Valley Endurance Race, I leveled from 25 - 26 in one race. So if you do the Endurance Races in order, you should not need to grind. If you have no interest in Endurance Races, well....SOL then.

IMHO the most important part is to get gold/silver in the special events right when they pop up. They give insane amounts of XP at the level they're unlocked and I barely had to grind any races (less than ~20ish races maybe) without even getting everything on gold and I'm about to hit 25.

What are you saying here? That you get more XP for an event at the level you unlock it, than if you do it at a higher level?

A guy in another thread said he had to grind a lot after hitting level 26: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=141903&page=4#post4310692

I am sure I will hit a wall somewhere, but just saying it is much easier then starting to grind at level 20. But once you get to level 30 and unlock those events, believe Golding each one will net 3-4 levels.

EDIT: The other post didn't mention if they golded all the licenses, but I am 100% sure I will not have to grind until level 27. On 26 right now with half the experience I need to level and still have the 4hour Tsukuba to do.

On level 22 now. Grinding is nowhere near in my sight yet. Still tons of stuff to finish for me. I haven't even golded all Expert events yet (Historic still not done and All Stars on Silver) and on Extreme I've only finished two events so far. Also still haven't completely finished AMG Academy and I've not managed to get anywhere in the Sebastian Loeb challenge yet.

So at least for me I've reached level 22 with absolutely no grinding and still tons of stuff to be done before it gets anywhere near boring.

Not sure how other people already get to grinding at this point in the game.

Some good points here but we are all still in the mid 20s and assuming that beyond that is just the following events... if you look as the exp gained from the endurance ones, and though its noteworthy its nothing like running a regular race event... you can easily double exp with single races in 4 hours than doing a 4 hour endurance... So this put you back in the grind if you want to unlock things faster...

Lets also not confuse having fun with a grind, if your enjoying it then great but wouldn't you enjoy it more had you been given more simple events to choose, the ability to focus on one cars life-cycle, meaningful series, etc.?

I'm not ranting, I'm mearly confused why there are so few NEW things to do when you reach the mid to later 20's when it would have been VERY easy to just have more... I do hope to eat these words sooner than later!

Its just SO easy to fill out the events so you can spend more time with the cars and not notice the grind... how was this overlooked? Not to mention why this simple quantity equation should be more of a driver than levels... We all leveled up to fast in other games but never ran out of events... levels were pointless after day one...

These threads are getting old. I'm at level 22. I have NOT finished all of special events. I have NOT golded half of the special events. I am at IC license, with mainly silver and bronze.

I have NOT once had any grind feeling. Have I repeated a few tracks? Yes, but purely for money to buy an F40 that I truly wanted. The only way I can see there being a grind is if you're a perfect racer and manage to gold everything first try, or are okay with just bronze the whole way.

I don't mean to be rude but go an silver (gold is a grind too) all the licenses and events you can, do all the events you qualify for in A-spec and we'll see you back here at about level 24... :p

That's not a grind. That's called perfecting driving skill. If I hit a wall in A-Spec, it'll be off to B-Spec until I get stuck there. I have yet to have any stuck feeling.

Just my opinion.

A simple setup like the race maker in GTPSP that let you chose opponents in the same car or similar specs & gave cash and EXP for races would be perfect and totally take away from the minutia of replaying A-Spec events.

What is the difference between having more race series and re running the ones you like and trying different cars?.

To me level 20 to 25 flew by.

I'm level 22 and still have half the expert and extreme events to do. No grind so far and still plenty to do. I have repeated a few events, but only because I didn't gold them first time. I have got gold in quite a few special events though. They are worth a lot of XP.

Are the people having to grind either alien drivers and or using massively overpowered cars so get gold first time every time?

I used cars equal to my opponents in all my A-Spec races (I made a point of doing so) and I've only just reached level 25, with only the Historic Race, Formula GT and Nascar left to do.
I have all licenses, completed almost all Specials to gold level (I have golded the hardest [most XP yielding] ones), and I had to do some SERIOUS grinding between 23 and 25.

I really don't see how I'm going to get to level 30 never mind 40 without some unutterably boring repetition of races.

To be honest I didn't do much grinding until level 24, if you've got all gold in A-spec events and special events you shouldn't have to be grinding at all at level 20

I'm A-Spec level 27 I have two more extreme events to complete (German Touring and Formula GT) and I've finished 3 of the endurance races. Completed all Special Events & Licenses with about 40% gold. (My B-Spec level is the same, 27 and I've completed the same number of events as my A-Spec level). I've played the American Extreme event countless times (well over 150 times) to get more money to fund my car purchases so even adding in the EXP I got from everything I've completed, the sheer amount of grinding I've done, there is a TON more EXP to get just to get to 30 and to finally open the X-1 challenges.

There is no avoiding grinding in this game. If you save your money/don't buy many cars/don't do much tuning then yeah you could say you haven't had to grind but what fun is that?? This is GT, I want a garage full of a ton of cars to go out and tune and play with! This GT is held back a bit with the much more restrictive way to earn money and the "leveling" system. I find it so strange that PD would want to restrict the player like this. Weird.

I agree, part of the allure of the GT is to by many different cars and drive them how you want. I've read some posts on here that said the easiest way to make money is to only by the cheapest effective car you need for events!

More events would be appreciated, that's all i'll say on the matter.

To make a suggestion, how about a classic matchups series?

Evo vs Scooby vs Skyline
Ferrari vs Lambo
Ford vs VW

Or how about a 200hp/300hp/400hp series?

These things should all be easy to implement. This is one area that Forza easily beats GT5 for me.

This info is wrong.

Level 25-26 is 226k, whereas doing the first enduro only nets 113k xp

It may be true that if you get golds on everything up to level 25 you won't have to grind. But I chose not to do that because I wanted to buy the Formula GT. Many events require you to purchase a specific car type to enter them, and then you generally need to buy upgrades for the car to ensure a win. This costs a lot of money, which would lead to the same amount of grinding in the end to get a very expensive car like the FGT.

I chose to get it over with early. And in the end, all the exp I was earning while cash grinding worked out for the leveling system as well. I had just hit level 24 when I finally had the funds to get the Formula. Now I'm level 25 and the rest is just endurance racing.

I think the main problem is that the series are too short. In most real racing series there are at least 10 races but in most of these series there are just 3-5. There should be 10-20 races in each series and you should be able to save in the middle of contesting a championship. I'm kind of tired of the way racing games never seem to pay any attention to the way the sport is run in real life.
