Who else wishes GT5 had NOS?

One "mod" i really miss and wish was in GT5 is NOS because i loved taking underpowered cars and strategically using NOS to power out of bends and corners to see if i could beat* much faster cars.

Anywho, who else would like to see NOS in GT5?

I agree, i loved it in GT4 too. It had cost around 5000 Cr. and was a GREAT modification to your car! I'd really like it to be in GT5 too!

I only really used NOS in GT4 for high speed tests on Test Course, although a few of my low powered cars were given the NOS treatment so that I could beat cars that were far more powerful. I wouldn't mind if this tuning option was added to GT5, it could make for some interesting racing.

Didn't realize it was in GT4, I'll have to go back and check that out. At first I was going to say that sounds too much like some fast-and-furious need-for-speed stuff that doesn't really fit in with Gran Turismo's style of gaming.

But I guess I stand corrected.

Contrary to above opinions.. I actually don't want NOS in the game. It somewhat ruins my experience by making me feel like I am playing nfs or watching The Fast and Furious.

I ain't gangsta either lol :sly:

Lol, you guys only think it's NFS and fast 2 furious stuff? Really, it's been intergrated in normal cars, just to improve the power of the car. You really don't see a big flame comming out of your exhaust. It's just working inside the engine, where it adds an extra high level of oxigen to improve the combustion of the engine, thus achieving a higher amount of power.

Only if there's an option to turn it off for online races. People with mics can be annoying enough as is without yelling "NA-A-AWS!!" on the straights.

There's not much use for it in track racing (in my opinion). If they're going to do something like that, I'd rather them do a KERS (like the Porsche GT3 R Hybrid).

It depends what you use it for(not used in most rl racing series), personally I never used it in gt4. As it was in gt4 it really only had a place at the 1/4 mile imo.

I say no unless I can fill balloons with it and take deep breaths ;)

If there was an option to restrict it online or something I wouldn't mind. I wouldn't use it, and I certainly wouldn't want to race online with people adding it to race cars or something. That said, it's not on my wishlist at all.

👍 lol'd.

It most likely wasn't implemented into GT5 because there are no practical applications to improve directed gameplay. If there were license tests created or special events that emphasized proper usage over just "ZOMG IM SO FAST", then it would be justified.

But that aside, GT is track racing. When is the last time you saw someone pump NOS into their intake during anything other than a 1/4 mile blast?

I wouldn't mind Nitrous Oxide but I reckon a Kinetic Energy Recovery System for extra boost would be pretty cool. That way you could get boost in a not so vulgar way as NOS. Plus it's quite a strategic tool as well. I wouldn't mind it included.

I would love it offline. Especially if flames came out like gt4 :p
Online either give an option to disable it it give it a lot of pp.

i used to use nos for 4wd drifting.. now for drift challenges im stuck with rwd cars.. i miss drifting ssr5 in 22b scooby . its just not the same :\

I would Nitrous to come back as well as the test oval. Imagine sending a Red Bull with nitrous round that:drool:

Remember not to call it NOS because that's a brand name. The Fast and the Furious got into big trouble with other manufacturers over it!

Gee! I wished GT5 had neon underglows, ridiculous looking spoilers and a whole selection of funky looking stickers to tack onto my car, boy how great GT5 wuld be if it had nitrous.......:grumpy:

Stuff the ricer trash talk somewhere, GT4 had it. It wasn't all rice, it was cool. Why its not here now is probably due to the game not yet being finished like the Transmission tuning.

It would basically be no different from the Push-to-Pass systems currently employed by Formula One and IRL.

Which makes me really wonder why some (and not just in this thread) have talked about how they would rather PD implement a KERS system than a nitrous system, because the only practical difference (aside from the latter being a far more realistic modification in real life) wold be the name.

As it was in gt4 it really only had a place at the 1/4 mile imo.
It's not really a matter of opinion. Ignoring the 300MPH club, I know of several users (myself included) who used it to great effect while pursuing 200 A-Spec point races.

This.

I've always been astounded how quickly these topics devolve into ricer bashing or "Feature X doesn't belong in the GT series" when it was in GT4.
