I'm in. Put me down as a Peugeot 908 for now, I might change to an R10.

That sounds like it would be awesome. I'll have to buy a car by then, haha. So I'll let you know which one I purchase.

Why is everyone driving 908's? Am I missing something here? lol. Maybe i should use mine and then we can just have a Pug 908 race ;)

doesnt really matter Mindless, at least if we all run 908's it will be very very close

If everybody race with Pegout, we will know, who is really Mister Le Mans.
Talking of insparing, this is a must it's split in 13 episode.

It's really something to watch and don't miss episode 6/13 at 1:28 where Allan McNish driving you on what is racing in 24 heures du Mans.

Remember it always rain in Les Mans ;)

Great link! Gonna watch through all of these when I get the time! I've never really had much interest in Le Mans until I started playing GT5, and this seems like a good way for me to learn some recent history in it, cheers :)

Maybe I'll change to an Audi based off this hehe ;)

I'll change my entry to a Bentley Speed 8, just to be more modern lol, might see if I can get a Pescarolo car before June :) Any recommendations on that?

I can make this race (wont be able to make my own :/ lol) are we just running LMPs? If so put me down for the R10, PSN is Mitch_Z06. BTW do you think we can use current LMP hp/weight regs (550hp/930kg) as in testing for my LMES' next season its evened the field out really well and would make things competitive.

Im open to suggestions but if we do run the 550hp/930kg regs then the LMP1 cars are going to have all be detuned which is pointless. The R10 standard is 649bhp and the 908 is 700bhp. 730pp means you can tune them up a little and makes it even across the grid while keeping it a fast race.

You can run other classes of cars if you wish but again pointless as you have no chance of winning

Like I said i'm open to suggestions. Would like this to be a packed grid of good clean racers to celebrate the real 24H race the next day which I will be following

The R10 cant get any faster than the 908 even with a turbo its barely as fast as a stock 908 thus the suggestion of 550hp/930kg. Its not pointless to detune them unless you're going for the 'develope a Le Mans winner using the PP system' path which kinda puts people in a poor chance to win if they get anything other than a 908.

Its just a suggestion but it'll let people run something other than a 908 (dont want it to be a spec series now? :p)

Is the 908 really that much better than everything else no limits? I've raced against them before and kept up alright, but you're right about the R10, it's just not good enough for 730pp unfortunately, I really like the R10 too, so if the regs are ok for it I might enter that instead, get a good 908 vs R10 battle going :)

Mmmm if we do run 550hp/930kg's then its possible to run other classes of car and still be competitive. i.e all LMP1 cars and GT cars will limited to 550/930

What does everyone think on this? what to hear your thoughts

GT should be 650hp/1150kg, they wont keep up with the prototypes simply because of weight and lack of aero compared to the LMPs. If this is going to have GT's aswell I'll run a Z06RM :D if not I'll go with the R10.

Your right about the GT's they need more power because of the weight. I need to do some testing but it could work. keep the opinions/ideas coming guys. Luckily theres almost 4 weeks to go so plenty of time to plan/test

I'm in. Put me down for the R8 '05.

As far as PP and HP/weight regs, I say limit the LMPs to something like maybe 690 or 700 PP, and the GT class cars to maybe 600 or 625 (not really sure what a good PP range would be for those). That way it's a limit all LMP cars can meet (whether by tuning or detuning), yet still be equal perfornace wise.

The PP system doesnt actually work that well (as testing for my LMES series had shown) to balance out the classes, a HP/weight spec as the guideline makes things much more equal and easier to balance.

Ive just been having a look and i think 670PP sounds good. you can detune the LMP1 cars down and then tune up the GT series cars. Ive always found PP to be quite fair and also provides close racing.
I am keen to put a PP limit on the lobby to stop people cheating, if we have two separate power/weight regs for both classed then I cant put a limit on the lobby

Thats fair enough, I'll do some testing and let you know what I want to go with.

What you could do is set the PP (or hp/weight) limit for the GT cars, let all those drivers enter the course, then raise the PP limit for the LMP cars and let them get in, then start the race. Of course during practice sessions it wouldn't be feasible but for the race it could work.

im 99.9% sure it sends you back to the lobby if the regs are changed and you exceed them
