(Lounge Opens @ 23:30)

Request Reminder for this Series

This Series is aimed at all levels of driver, I consider myself fairly average, but mostly it's for those of us who can't make it for a league much earlier than midnight. Anyone from any country can join as long as you can make it at Midnight UK time, if you're unsure of the time difference then check your city time for this weeks race. This is a relaxed close competitive series; all the rules and regulations are to ensure a close fun racing experience, we want clean fair drivers but as it is a competition we expect some bumping and accidental incidents, deliberate punting or other unsavoury behaviour will be penalised.

FAQ’s
Night of Week: Friday.
Times: Qualifying will begin at 00:00 UK Time and last approx 15 minutes, the race will start shortly after and last about 20 minutes. Another race lasting 20 minutes will start after the end of the first race, a final reverse grid race will be held after that.
How do I sign up: Reply to this thread stating your PSN ID & Car you want, then send FR on PSN.
Hosting: Hosted in my lounge (Friend Request on PSN will be required to join)
Can anyone join: Yes
Will there be prizes: Yes there will be prizes for the championship
1st=NCD up to 1,000,000CR
2nd=NCD up to 750,000CR
3rd=NCD up to 500,000CR
Will there be multiple of the same car: Yes, we’re running teams and there are 2 of each of the 16 cars to choose from on a first come first served basis, those not running with a team mate will be shown separately in an independant's championship.
Can I change car each race: No, you will have to stick with the same car all series.
How many races will there be: There will be 12 Races in the series.
What if I don’t have a car: One will be supplied
What if I can’t make it one week: Everybody needs a holiday, so only your top 9 results will be counted toward your final points, allowing you to miss 3 races without it ruining your championship (Any ties will be resolved by most poles, then fastest laps, then least penalties)
Can I make a suggestion: All suggestions on race rules, regs etc are most welcome

Basic Rules
  • GTP Online Rules in effect unless otherwise stated in the Code of Conduct post below
  • No Intentional hitting/spinning out of opponents (if you accidentally take someone out wait and allow them to rejoin ahead of you before continuing racing)
  • No Corner Cutting (2 wheels must be in line with track at all times)
  • No swerve blocking while on the straight (one move rule)
  • No trash talking or degrading remarks to other Racers
  • You cannot pass by going off track
  • You must yield to traffic upon returning to the track
  • You must yield to lead lap traffic (blue flag)
  • Be patient, the guy ahead of you is there because he qualified faster than you or overtook you, show some respect and bide your time. Unless Vettell joins the league he will make a mistake or create an opening at some point.
  • If you’re involved in an incident, first save the replay that's located under the podium icon, view the replay to get better perspective on what happened. Send me a PM concerning the incident, specifying which lap/time the infraction occured on, I will take it from there. Even if it is me at fault, please do raise the issue I won't take it personally, just because I'm organising this doesn't mean I can get away with driving like a tw@

Qualifying
My lounge will be open about half an hour before we're due to kick off, at midnight the track will be reset and qualifying will begin, for most tracks this will last 15mins but for race 6 & 12 we'll allow 20mins due to the length of the tracks.
Race rules apply to qualifying as well, if you come off the track use your mirrors/map and be very careful re-joining so as not to ruin someone else's lap time
Use the mini map to give yourself a good distance behind the car ahead, drafting is not in effect during qualifying so being close to the driver ahead will only serve as a disadvantage
If you're happy with your time and want to stop qualifying, enter the pits and press start to pause the game, your car will then remain in the pits.
Please be careful not to press the start race button otherwise we'll have to qualify all over again

Race
As soon as qualifying time is up I will request everyone to enter the pits and hit pause, once everyone is in I will start the race, please remain in the pits as it seems to help the game sort the start grid out and get the game going without leaving someone behind.
Remember your tyres will be cold going in to the first corner, your goal on turn 1 should not be to get to the front, but rather to convert a double wide start field to a single file running order. Look ahead more than one car. Due to field compression, a compact field will run slower through the first few turns than a spread out one. Leave some extra space, but not too much. Drivers behind you won't be expecting sudden braking. In a crowded field, pinball is quite possible. A racer who runs into you may have been punted. Don't automatically assume malicious intent. I'll review the first corner closely and be issuing penalties to drivers at fault of being over aggressive in the first turn. A bit of bumping and rubbing is expected but a punt will not be tolerated, if you bump and cause an innocent driver to spin or go off at any point in the race, waiting for them to return ahead of you may just save you from receiving a penalty if it is your fault. If you wait for someone to continue ahead and they didn't lose places, then no penalty for a first offence (1pt if its a repeat offence), if they lose places and you waited 1pt penalty (2pts for repeat offences), if you don't wait 2pts penalty.
If you start the race but are disconnected due to lag you will receive points for last place, if you disconnect of your own accord you will receive a DNF and no points, it is easy to tell from the replay when someone is disconnected due to a bad connection. If you are suffering from lag you may be asked to leave the race, it makes it very difficult to race when someone in front of you is jumping all over the track, inevitably you end up hitting them and ruining both parties race. It's difficult to tell if you are lagging yourself and it will be up to other drivers to point out if it is getting bad and the replay will show it quite clearly, it can happen to anyone at any point and I view it similar to an engine blowing during a real race, only 9/12 races are counted in your final standings so if you score last place it's not so bad.

* To avoid connection issues during a race please try clearing your cache in the game or GT5 Port Forwarding on your router (thanks to allascato for providing the link)

.:: CODE OF RACING CONDUCT ::.

I. Passing
Who has the right of way into a corner will depend on the positions of the cars. If an overtaking car is fully alongside its competitor within or after the braking point, the rights to the corner go to the overtaking driver. The car being overtaken must surrender the position and should not turn in to the other driver. Otherwise, if the overtaking driver is not fully alongside its competitor at the turn in point, the rights belong to the driver ahead, and it is the obligation of the car attempting to overtake to give the other driver room and do everything possible to prevent an incident. As we all know, peripheral vision is limited in Sim Racing so it is advised that you maximize the available resources we have, such as mirrors, track maps, and audio cues like engine and exhaust notes, or talk to each other to prevent incidents.

II. Defensive Driving
Depending on the situation, any car can be overtaken from either side of the track. You can defend your position only 'once' by changing directions. Anything overly aggressive like sudden movements (when the overtaking car is about to pass and is very close) or deliberately squeezing the car beyond the edge of the track or any other unusual change of direction are strictly forbidden. This is considered illegal blocking and any driver found guilty of using such a method of driving should be reported to me.

Driving down a straight and placing your car off or opposite the driving line far in advance before the braking point, forcing your opponent to take the outside line or a different line in general, is considered a reasonable strategy for defending your position. This counts as 'one move' - pertaining to the 1st paragraph above. Any more sudden movements right after will be considered illegal blocking and should be reported.

III. Track Contact
a) Drivers must always keep 2 wheels on (or vertically in line with) the track at all times
b) The edges of the track are marked with white lines and are considered to be a part of the track.
c) The Rumble Strips are part of the track, however, all surfaces beyond them are not part of the track
d) Do not hit any objects visible or invisible (eg. cones, brake markers, barriers, walls, etc.)

In a situation where the driver goes off the track, and without prejudice to part (e) below, he may rejoin, only when it is safe and without gaining any advantage.
Also, if a driver unintentionally or intentionally leaves the track and gains a spot, he must relinquish that spot or he will be penalized.

e) Drivers committing serious mistakes repeatedly, or appearing to have a problem keeping the car on the track should be reported, which will result in multiple penalties.

At any given time during the season, drivers are expected to follow these rules. Any driver who deliberately appears to break any of these rules to gain advantage at any stage in the race or the season will be penalized.

IV. In Case Of Emergency
As long as you have not crossed the finish line, you can turn around to enter the Pits. This rule is to make it legit for a driver who suffered from bad luck entering the pits, but for some reason did not make it. If something happens to you, and you're turning around to re-enter the pit lane, you need to be aware of this:
Anything ending up in an incident (resulting in damage or not) while driving backwards will be viewed upon as "Causing avoidable damage", with a minimum penalty of 2 points. It's extremely important that you take it nice and slowly, making sure you don't interfere with anyone else and be very cautious.

.:: PENALTY SYSTEM ::.

Penalties will be imposed on a driver if he commits an offence during a race. Offences include causing an avoidable accident, unfairly blocking another driver, impeding another driver when being lapped, or gaining an advantage by leaving the track. Penalties will vary depending on the severity of the offence. This can impose point penalties, reprimand a driver, exclude him from the results and suspend him from the next race or the entire series.

I. Offences
  • Breach of Track Contact Rules (warning minimum)
  • Avoidable contact resulting in damage (2 point penalty)
  • Hindering drivers from overtaking by changing direction more than once (minimum 1 point penalty)
  • Illegal blocking/forcing cars off track (minimum 1 point penalty)
  • Not relinquishing gained positions after leaving track (minimum 2 point penalty)
  • Rejoining the track without regards to oncoming traffic (minimum 1 point penalty)
  • Overall aggressive driving (minimum DQ warning & next race probation)

Any of the above can add up together resulting to increased points penalties and/or Disqualification.

II. Penalties
  • 1 point deduction
  • 2 points deduction
  • 3 points deduction
  • Point penalties will accrue throughout the race
  • Exclusion from Results (DQ) + Next race probation
  • Suspension for 1 Race + Probation for whole season
  • Exclusion from the whole Championship

Breach of Racing Code - IV. Track Contact
Three Strike System

Strike 1: warning issued
Strike 2: 1 point deducted
Strike 3: 2 points deducted

Further track contact violations will result in bigger penalties and/or Disqualification. These may seem harsh but the idea is to force people to take more care when driving and thereby improve the overall experience for everyone involved.

III. Reporting an Incident
Issues must be first kept privately between the parties involved (through the PM system). If the said parties do not come to a mutual agreement, the issue must be escalated and reported to me within 24 hours of the race finishing, otherwise penalties will not be given out or considered (If you are involved, it is your responsibility to inform me of your side of the story within the 24 hour time limit). If I’m involved in an incident, any penalties issued will be decided by a 3rd party, I have a few friends joining I can trust to be honest with me.

Please disclose important information about incidents along with your report.
  • Lap/Time when incident occurred
  • Who was involved

Deliberation Process
  • An incident is reported and/or noted by Drivers.
  • I will contact drivers who are potentially at fault.
  • After hearing both parties, I will review the replay and give suitable penalties.

Enforcing Penalties
Penalties will be strictly enforced. They can neither be appealed nor reversed.

gprili and allascato are going to run with the #12 Calsonic IMPUL GT-R '08

Me and SkengD will go for the #36 Castrol TOM'S Supra '97

No ABS this season ? Calendar looks good.

Unfortunately I've had to do away with tyre wear, what PD have done is just awful, so to make it more challenging we'll have all aids off as in real SuperGT ;)

You got the wrong image for Cape Ring. That's the periphery version you posted.
And about Spa, can we still race on it without buying the DLC?

It's customary for the reigning champion to take the Lexus, care to take up the challenge IMMORTAL?

Ahh, then it must be the periphery version I wanted, the image is right but I wasn't sure of the name ;)

I guess those without DLC will have to miss that race, you can afford to drop 3 races this time...

Team mate is for me not important only important that i drive my Tomica gtr 08

No ABS!?Really? :D I should be at home with that LOL.
I actually wanted to develop my tire preservation "skills" though if it's as bad as you guys say it's rather disappointing indeed.
Even V8Supercars with racing hard tires and a locked "spool" diff can last REALLY long even though they're sliding all the time so IMO bad move PD.

Edit:I think some rounds should be left as endurance rounds but thats just me I would guess...

I would love to race in Season 3 but my schedule is all over the place so I'm not sure if my attend will be as good as before. But put me anyway just so I have my spot if I can race lol

Also I really like the success ballast but we need to even out the cars much more for this season. For example what if I'm in the Bandi SC430 which is the worst possible super GT car and I win I will be making a horrible car much worst so you will see this pattern I win one race next race I get forth win next race next race get forth win next race next race get forth etc... Yes it gives other drivers a chance to win but if I bad driver gets the Bandi sorry but they are screwed...

Also I want the ARTA NSX. ;) my favorite NSX btw.

Edit nevermind. I'm going with Yellow Hat GTR ^_^

Last edited:
No problem mate, which car do you want?

Ahh I thought we were gonna get our first NSX then, nevermind I'm sure someone will be brave :)

Last edited:
Also for a basic car optimization I say run these settings.

All NSX must have 1150 KG 502HP
All GTR must have 1130 KG 502HP
All SC430 must have 1130 KG 512HP
Nizmo Z must be at 1150 KG 500HP
YellowHat Supra 1130 KG 502HP
Bandi SC430 1100 KG 512HP

Supra 98' should be either gone(Not SuperGT) or make downforce stay at 35/60 ( it can go 40/65)
That's my general idea behind the cars

My other thought since were running teams I say get rid of the JGTC Supra it's doesn't fit with the newer cars plus in real life it's slower then current SuperGT cars but in GT5 it's faster due to downforce.

Man, never played the game without ABS before.... This will be very challenging to say the least guys...

Drivers as talented as you guys probably can, seeing the way some of you guys brake it should be absolutely no problem.
Just don't carry too much pressure in and you'll be fine.As for initial application the higher the speed the more pressure.

IMMORTAL with Montalvo?? :) we're all going to be lapped :dopey: (hope not)

Hi guys , apologies for missing the last race . I meant to post on the thread that it could be possible that I would miss it but I thought I would make it .

So me and Tyrell in the Castrol Supra :)

Are the specs for the cars the same as last season ?

I like the success ballast and no abs will be challenging .

I saw a few posts saying they wanted to out the supra because of its extra downforce :) , people already taking shots at our car Tyrell , hehe , maybe we are the team to watch out for then .

I think Soopa you have made a great decision with the no abs :)

Scared of us :sly:

Never driven without abs but always wanted to learn.

Tyrell just let me know when your ready to start practice .

I want us to be a solid podium team this season .

I think we will adjust quite well to no abs , I have been driving with brake balance 1 and 1 or 2 and 2 for quite some time , I think since about race 5 or 6 in the season . Hopefully I adjust quickly.

Just a random thought , if anyone was to win 3 races in a row on a night they would rack up 180kg of weight , wow , lol.
