Recently i have realised that i have got pretty god damn bored of GT5 and i feel that i cant play on it like i did on GT4. On GT4 it seemed like the game never ended and it was so much more fun to play. I hope that GT6 will come soon and they add a lot more races and licences to it. Rant over!:)

Do you have any recommendations? I have a G27 and i would say i am better than average.

Depends. You can join the sanctioned Super GT event Masi hosts, or a Le Mans championship. Just look around in here and you'll find something. I only run in one racing league since I don't have much time for another.

It got pretty boring to me a long time ago, probably since I don't have a wheel..

Yeah, GT5 will be massively better with a wheel, which is why I'm hoping to invest on a wheel quite soon.

Never bored "of" something, it's "with".
I am getting bored, even with a wheel. F1 2011 has so much more and it succeeds in dragging me from GT5.

It's because it's too easy. Past gt games had very stif rules and restrictions for races. This one 99% of the races is jump into any car and blow the competition away. The only thing that makes it more even is the pp system in which is flawed since there is always one car who will always dominate by a mile.

They had that one seasonal with the Subaru, lotus, and fiat that were so tough and it was all about the perfect combo of tuning and racing. That's what they need in this game. Races where you know you must focus and give it 100%. Any mistake and it's over. They went with the more easy mass appeal on this one instead.

GT4 was in a league of its own. Great design, tons of fun, plenty of excellent ideas... a timeless gem. I still play it a lot. Should a remastered edition ever come out, GT5 would probably be left to gather dust on a shelf.

Yeah I stopped playing it a while back, unless they add a lot more single player content I doubt i'll be back.

Online races help keep it a little fresh.
I agree though, it is slowly losing its charm.

The only thing I play online is shuffle races because it's so hard to find a car to compete with so many different levels online. 500PP, 530PP, 360PP, 420PP etc. I really don't know how people have the right cars all the time.

this kind of thread is pointless and is always a new one every day or so. if you are bored, go play anything else.. its not the game - its you. the game is what it is, and if you dont find anything to do, is your problem. theres is not another racing game that has ever been played for so long with so many people. think about that and why is that way.

Testing testing and more testing , i don't know how familiar you are with tuning or the tuning part of these forums . But basicly if you like to drive you're own cars in online races you need to either learn to tune them youreself to make them competitive or start testing different tuning garages .

Finding a tuner that fits you're driving style might take some time but it is good fun , testing cars and racing against the clock .
Personally i useally use the odd car to race online and sometimes it works great sometimes i fail miserable , but i still get a good laugh .

also the more difficult the car ( that hated 550pp yellow bird in my garage :p ) will give you more sadisfaction for coming in 4th orso the winning all the time in that boring M3 , but thats my opinion .

Hope this kind of answer is something you we're looking for , if not i appoligise seeing i misunderstood then .

I tend to agree. I thought GT4 was a deep game. I really miss all those tracks that didn't make it into GT5, the license tests that actually mean something, the one-make events, etc.

Having said that, GT5 does bring a lot to the table: cockpit view, 1080p, new physics, and online play. Perhaps GT6 will add a lot more depth to the game in terms of events, tracks, and a lot more premium cars.

Tuning a car isn't the problem, the problem is that there are no set levels online so everyone races to a different level. I could tune a car to a nice 450PP beast then go online and all I can find are 420PP races and I've nothing in my garage to match. I retune a car to 420PP and then the races are all 450 or I find one of 435 or something. Do you see my point?

That's why I like the 'other' game for online because they have set brackets. You can tune a car to a set number and know that all the races are set to those levels. Sure you still get dominant cars at each level but at least you know you'll always have a car set up for the race.

I really don't understand why people put the blame on the player for being bored of this game. GT5 really does fall short when it comes to having different things to do. Even Kaz admitted that there should have been more events in the game. That says a lot.

Still playing it, and still loving it.

After the Spec II update, and me getting back into the game, i've found GT5 to be alot fun.
Specially online with some friends. We try to do weekly endurance races online which is ALOT of fun. :D
I've also recently got platinum trophy and online is where my interest is now.
But I would love alot more A-spec events. Endurance at Spa? 💡

I would also like to have a Spa endurance race as well because how much did we pay for it? Then what do we get for it, just the track! No events that go with it. . :grumpy:

My boredom tends to increase the longer the game goes without an update and shrinks the better the resulting update is. Unfortunately, all I really can do now is just get cars for myself, tune them up, test them, etc. I would do online but I can't go 5 seconds in a racing lobby without being smashed out of contention. Free run lobbies are OK but I don't go in them as often as I should. And no, do not bring out the solution of joining a league here. Partly because I would be last in most races there, but mainly because, for some bizarre reason, every league on here appears to have gone on strike.

Mostly all of the leagues are on strike because of the new tire model, but it is possible to race in one. Just that it'll be a bit annoying than usual.. But the game isn't too boring to me. It can get dull after a while but I always seem to come back to it. Then again it's the only racing sim I have at the moment..

I started to get bored of GT5 a while ago, but have since come back to it; now I play it almost every day. If you find you're getting bored of a game, dig up something you haven't played for ages and try that. When you get bored of that, dig up the other game you haven't played for ages (GT5), and try it. It'll feel like getting a new game - trust me!

In a future update — I know we hear that way too often,— I wish they gave A-Spec a serious overhaul so as to make it as plentiful as GT4's and imposed cars as in licence tests and seasonal time trials. The most frustrating bit is that GT5 could still become the greatest game in the series through online updates and fixes and DLC packs, before the last GT faithful lose patience over a number of unresolved issues. It took twelve months of complaining and the release of Forza4 for us to get 2.0: it's the legitimate whiners that got things moving, not the blind devotees.

I am affraid not sir , why not have multiple cars for multiple brackets , now with the A-B-C tuning sheet you can even set 3 different set-ups , hence it beeing more easier .

I am sorry if i miss the point , but we are allowed to have more then one car , if this was not the case i would completely understand

Even tho a lot of people whine about the whiners whining . The whining whiners can sometimes get the point accross due to their whining . :D

no just kidding , you have a very true statement there

Although I love GT5 it is not the only game for the ps3. There are so many amazing games from different genres you should try.

The more I play l, the more into it I seem to get. First it was just aspec. Then I went online and could barely compete. So I tuned a few cars and did a little better. Now I find myself doin time trials with more and more cars to get them tuned and learn better tunes along the way. I can spend a good 4-5 hours racing in a single session, even more on my days off at times.

I don't seeing getting bored of it any time soon. It is a sim, and that's what I got it for. I wanted the most authentic feel I could get on console. There are a lot of things that couod be added/improved, but there is enough there to give me what I wanted out of the game.

I will eventually be going to PC driving sims, so we'll see how much I play GT5 when that happens.

aside from the "golding everything" suggestion, since you shouldn't quit the game before beating it, you could also try some PC sims.

Most of them are "free", and it's impossible to get bored with rfactor.

I have loads of sims on my pc like Rfactor, GTR2, RBR (the list goes on!) but i was just wondering if everyone else was bored of GT5 yet.

I stop playing when im out of my racing mood then move to rpg or gta type games or shooters but when I get an itch to race my gt5 disc goes back in
