Anyone else bored of GT5?

I've not bothered with A-spec for ages, been way too occupied with online racing. Makes me sound really nerdy but I think I've played almost every day (atleast every week) from launch and I'm still not bored with Nordschleife. And I'm still finding more interesting cars to buy and try and race.

In a future update — I know we hear that way too often,— I wish they gave A-Spec a serious overhaul so as to make it as plentiful as GT4's and imposed cars as in licence tests and seasonal time trials. The most frustrating bit is that GT5 could still become the greatest game in the series through online updates and fixes and DLC packs, before the last GT faithful lose patience over a number of unresolved issues. It took twelve months of complaining and the release of Forza4 for us to get 2.0: it's the legitimate whiners that got things moving, not the blind devotees.
The blind devotees only whine about the whiners because of the way the some of those whiners speak.

Your post has nothing wrong with it. There's only an issue when someone's moaning, which your post contains none of that. Well, not the kind of moaning I'm thinking about.

I don't play GT5 nearly as much as I used to, yet I still love playing it. I haven't gotten bored of the driving part of the game. I would have gotten bored by now if I didn't have a decent wheel.

OK8

+1. GT5 has so many ways to keep me entertained and isn't that the whole point of playing it in the first place? For the limited time I have to play, GT5 is always my top choice because theres so much to do and get into and the community is great for the most part as well. Besides racing online is great, beating a living human is much more satisfying than beating an AI player who is programmed, not just in GT5, in any games. Honestly I don't see the appeal in wanting new A spec races..

Most of the leagues are now going again, its the only way I can have reasonably well controlled online racing. You should join one that has just got going again or just starting.

I really wish I could get bored with this game - whilst it may not be GT4 it has kept me playing pretty much every day since release...much to the detriment of other games...but one day I'll get around to those. There is so much more to this one than GT4 could offer, at least in my opinion.

I'm happy.

Tends to happen when you do something alot.....
Ive been addicted to arcade mode lately.
If you dont care about money you have infinite amount of races there ;)
Turn mech damage on for even more fun.

iv probably put 300+ hours into the game easy.. and its gotten boring alrite..
would much rather a larger expansion i would pay good money for, then small pieces of dlc every couple months

also i would love to see a betting feature available as option for online races where we can bet the credits we'v earned in races, and maybe have options for tournament races for this too...
"everyone puts in 10.000c(amount set by room owner)at the start of a race tournament and 1st, 2nd and 3rd payout"

Thats a good idea, you could also have a auction house like Forza has, that way you can get the cars you want!

I would also like to have a Spa endurance race as well because how much did we pay for it? Then what do we get for it, just the track! No events that go with it. . :grumpy:

Then join an online endurance race on Spa. I've organised a few endurance races on Spa that turned out great. The game gives you the tools to do things on your own, you know.

I dont think it should be down to us to sort races out, they should be there for us to play already.

I get bored of GT5 from time to time and play other games meanwhile. I have been playing swtor and Skyrim lately. Going to try out Recettear at some point though lately I have gotten interested in GT5 again. It's a game not a job so play when it's fun and do something else when it's not. :)

This. ^ 👍 The right attitude.

No. It's very difficult to get bored of this game with a G27. (Still need to get my Nixim mod though)

I have a GT5 and im bored but i dont want to spend another penny to try and improve the game.

I assume you meant G27. It seems to me your mind is made up. Spending more money won't improve the game (I think it's great), it will only improve your experience with the game.

For me, cruising/racing with friends never gets old. All assists off, all screen displays off, maybe even listening to my music; it just doesn't get better on console.

*I'm just waiting for the free roam DLC.

There's plenty of content. I agree that A-spec is lacking in good events, and that it has way too few restrictions. But, you do have the ability to organize online events on your own, and it is actually possible to get some good arcade races going, if only you're willing to do a little work.
Granted, arcade would be so much better if we could choose opponent cars and tires.

With all due respect, compaining about it will get you no where. Istead, use what tools are given to you, and make the best out of it.

No ill never get bored of gt5. I simply rotate around games, like gt5 on time and then mw3. It is slower to compete the game, but preserves the fun.

@OP, Learn to drag race and tune all your cars top notch. That will keep you busy.

I hate to say that I, too, am bored with GT5. I've finished all the racing events and car collecting I can or care to but I still enjoy the Time Trial / Seasonal events... I just wish the online events were more frequent. In my boredom, I even went and bought a Xbox 360 and Forza 4. Although I prefer GT5, I find myself spending more and more time in Forza 4.

I wouldn't say that I'm bored, but I could be having a better time. I'd really love to take advantage of online, but the physics difference (among other online peculiarities) is problematic and I would have to commit to only playing online in order to enjoy it; back and forth is more frustration than I'd like to deal with, especially when tuning comes into play.

I really hope this gets remedied with an update, but that is highly doubtful. Not knowing the exact cause, I can not even be sure that GT6 will be any different.

That said, I do have a good time in offline mode, where I like to concentrate on driving various underused cars as hard as I can, i.e. my focus is on enjoyment and challenging myself. Photomode is another, but I like photography, so...

For me, it is still a workaround.

A-spec can be pretty boring, but since the seasonal events I really got into b-spec mode(didn't like it all before). So for me B-spec+seasonal events+online lobby = not bored at GT5

Go cruise around lobbys and find a good group to hang with. FR them. cant really ever get bored of that.. everyone will always be trying to make something interesting happen

I play usually about 20-30 minutes each day, or so. I'm not bored but I don't play as much. I do the new seasonal events, now some testing on Route X but I stop gt5 sooner and put mw3 or bf3 disc in the ps3.

I think it's much more fun to lose to a bunch of humans than win by a mile against the AI, which it's never been that good in any of the GT games, actually.
So don't be scared and hit the online button up there.
Invest some time to find some decent racers here on GTP or simply friend some guy you think is ok out there in the lobbies.
Honestly, I've never "ended" GT5.
I've just stop to play A-Spec when I realized how fun is to race other people around the world. I don't even care of seasonal events anymore: if I want to get behind the wheel, I want humans on the other side of the screen. :)
Just.. try. :sly:

It would be cool if they had online A-spec. Where it's setup like the restrictions for offline a-spec, but you race other people instead of AI. There could be a matchmaking system to match people of the same skill-set, and most of the very beginning levels should be spec racing, so new drivers can focus on driving instead of worrying about finding a good tune at the same time.

I think this would add tons of fun to the game.

-edit- For the bad drivers, just have a way to rate them. Then they will be penalized or something. At least some way would need to be implemented that would strongly discourage dirty driving.

Yep! I'm bored too... haven't touched GT5 in about 4 days... :dunce: which is quite a lot...👎

The game is so small and incomplete that I have nothing else to do these days... :nervous:

Also, for some reason... online does not click for me  ... I've tried and tried... but no... I don't like it...
