I got Half Life 2 for the PC. It came with my new vid card. Is the game any good? I wanna know before i install it becuase im not one who really like alot of games on my pc.

I dont believe it. Half Life 2 isnt out yet (even though theres a ****ty demo of it on the net) and its not gonna be out til April (unless they move the date up but I doubt that the way things are going).

it might just be a movie, because there is no way in the world that is half life 2 the game

HL2 is not out yet, if it was, you would of known about it.

It's probably a SDK disc. For people who want to start building mods for the game.

if you bought an ATI you get a coupon for Halflife 2 (when it finally arrives.). I think you get the full original game though.

Heh, I have played half life 2. Its fun. But Counter Strike: Condition Zero sucks. Am I going to tell you how to get Half-Life 2? No.

Everyone on the planet that plays video games knows the alpha was pirated, and many of us here have it, so don't feel so special.

Special? I don't feel special. Just giving information to the people who haven't played it which is obviously people in this thread. I do feel special though since i know who pirated it.

Alpha, Pirated? What is this talk. HL2 already out for downloads? What is this nonsence that you speek of? Truely they would not have released sub standard version would they? A cracked out developer leaked it for some $$$ possibly? Interesting....

Valve's PC's were hacked and most of the code for Half Life 2 was stolen

Half-Life 2 source leaked
Reports have spread that the source code for Half-Life 2 was leaked and was illicitly posted on the Web. Valve's Gabe Newell has today confirmed in a post on the Half-Life2.net forum that the file that is circulating is indeed the Half-Life 2 source code and said that it was stolen from Valve's network two weeks ago.

Newell summed up the importance of these events with "Well, this sucks," saying that "this has just not been the best couple of days for me or for Valve." He explained that someone gained access to his e-mail and installed keystroke recorders on several Valve computers as a means of stealing passwords. Valve and its Steam service have been the targets of several denial-of-service attacks over the past year, and he said it was unclear if these were related to the recent attacks.

Valve is turning to the gaming community in asking for any information that might lead to those responsible for the denial-of-service attacks or the network infiltration. Newell asked that any possible leads be sent to helpvalve@valvesoftware.com .

Newell didn't comment on whether these events would impact Half-Life 2's release schedule, which was recently pushed back from September 30 to late this year.

Someone remove the link in this post, it's clearly piracy. It's sites like that that got HL2 delayed! I really want the game, but not at the price of infecting myself possibly or stealing from a game company that put all their effort into creating a game which gamers will beat in only a week or two. Honestly. Besides, it is also against the AUP.

Noone cares, not being mean, but you can't stop it no matter what!! I mean piracy, not me.

Some people do care, other's just want to be in full complience with the law, both local and international. Please refrain from further public posts linking to sites promoting illegal activities.

Valve have announced that in order to play this game you will have to have an internet connection.Everyone that buys the game won't be able to play it untill they have activated it thru Steam. This way they want to make sure that everyone buys the game.

Also i found the PC Gamer review of Half Life 2 that wasn't supposed to be shown to the public untill November but has somehow leaked onto the internet.

Nice find, GTChamp2003. A friend of mine has a review of HL2 in his Maximum PC issue(unsure of the month) that gave it a 98%.

I can't wait until November 16... must have Half... Life... 2.... NOW.

Well, these scans are dating back to October 12th so i guess they were leaked.

Is that PC Gamer UK or USA? I've been waiting for nearly a month now for my local bookstore to get the new PC Gamer UK in, just so I can read that review.
