Im not into the ricer scene too much but like he stated it must be done to make any progress in the game. Here is my ricemobile so far. Didnt spend any time on it just slapped on whatever I could to get the visual rating points. My capture device isnt working that great but here you go.

After you beat the last guy 1 on 1 you will unlock everything except the unique performance upgrades wich you can get by winning a number of Outrun races.Also, try locating all of the shops,everytime you find a new one you unlock stuff.
ok i just found this out about the uniques which sucks cos iv missed most of em and now wont get 100%
Stage 2 - 4 wins - Hoods;
Stage 3 - 3 wins - Engine,Transmission or Tires;
Stage 3 - 6 wins - rims;
Stage 4 - 4 wins - spoilers;
Stage 4 - 6 wins - Vinuls;
Stage 4 - 9 wins - Ecu, Turbo or Brakes;
Stage 5 - 6 wins - NOS, Weight or Suspension;
Stage 5 - 11 wins - Wide body kits.
You can minamalize the riciness of the cars... They can look somewhat tasteful (and still get reputation points) if you take the time to build it that way... I didn't have a single car in NFSU:1 that was over the top (except for the stupid neons), and I finished the game in 2 days...

Road Dogg's Mustang is an excellent example of how a nice looking car can still get a very high star rating. I'm glad this game doesn't force you into creating stuff like Stumpy's 86.
His mustang is very similar to how mine looks. Silver and clean. I just won mine last night and put some mods on it. Sure sounds sick!!! Like a V8 should sound! I really like his hood and I have not unlocked that but I am only 38% thru the game right now.
