New Sponsor Ads

Well I just logged in and when I went to a topic I see under the first post a Sponsors ad thingy... Was this just implanted to day or I am just blind and this has been here for quite a while... :odd:
 
Yes, these are new text ads I just added today.
 
I noticed these this morning, Blake no like, bad medicine...When Jordan intoroduces other ways to pay for premium I will....

Jordan, aren't you able to control the locations of the ads? If so, I think that the bottom of the pages would be the best. Then they'd be more out of the way and they'd still be on every page so you would get payed for them.

Erm... I can tell already that I'm going to have a strong dislike of ads such as these... They interrupt the flow of threads.

Agreed. I really hope this isn't some cheesy ploy to get more people to subscribe to the premium services.
 
At least they're google ads, not some horribly obtrusive POP CUPID'S ZITS AND WIN FREE PSP!!!!!!!!1
 
I didn't expect these to be very popular, but you guys must understand the options I have here. If you go to the GT4 Downloads section and do the math, you'll figure out we are well on our way to 2 terabytes (that's 2000 GB) of bandwidth for this month. Never before have I seen this much data transferred, and there is still no guarantee how much this is all going to end up costing at the end of the month.

As you've probably already noticed, I've moved them down to the bottom of threads so they are not quite so intrusive - but if they do not perform well (they are on a pay-per-click basis), they will have to be moved again.
 
I understand everything needs to be paid for and ads are obviously the best option, but somehow I don't think pay-per-click will perform, I vary rearly see anything decent their and most of them are for ebay anyway :yuck:.

Also down the botton is much better, it's less annoying and they're in your face for longer if you use quick reply 👍.

2 Terrabytes?! Holy ****!

Can't you limit users to downloading so many MB per month or something. Maybe Premium users could have unlimited or at least increased limits, thus sucking a few more Premium users in. ;)

Are you running a low screen resolution, 800x600 for example? I don't have to scroll with my screen set to 1024x768...

Neither do I. I´ll check on the computers at work tomorrow though, since it´s used 800x600 on them.
 
Much, much better on the bottom of the screen. I'll click a few of the links to help pay for the site too.
