I read the first one and all I could think was wtf? I've gotta read the rest of these!

*Edit* I gotta ask my Japanese friend if he knows what Kancho is

Ive read through most now and it just gets better and better .

To give you an idea of how good it is, i've been reading it for the past 1.5 hours and haven't gotten bored.

Great find maaan 👍

Fun read indeed! That's basically what I do in Japan as well, but I teach mostly in eikaiwa, or English conversation school. I left home (Brooklyn, NY) two years ago and got myself a teaching job in Japan. I do have two public schools (no, I don't own them ^_^). The least I can say is that it has been a great experience and continues to be. It just doesn't stop being amazing. Now after two years I still pause once in a while at work and think, wow! I am in Japan and everything is different, the people, the language, the job, the country, my circle of friends, the culture, you get the idea. A lot of the things this guy wrote about are also true in this part of the country (me being in East Japan, him West Japan. You can think of it as the equivalent of the East Coast West Coast rivalry). "Kancho" is a common occurance! But thank god my company is a bit more strict and most of the time I have small and managble classes. :scared:

Holy cow. I almost cried reading some of that. Kancho indeed!

It's true too – children in Thailand also do that Kancho nonsense (I couldn't believe it the first time I saw my 5 year-old niece do it to her uncle when I was in Thailand during the winter).

I have a friend of 21 years that has been teaching in Japan now for over 2 years. . . He is starting to write about the music scene over there.

This is one of his articles that made it onto a British site I believe

This is his second article he wrote

He Graduated from the University of Florida back in 2001 and then moved to Japan in 2002 in August I believe, possibly July. He has a degree in English and it is funny, Before I introduced him to Led Zepplin all he would listen to was Rap. After Led Zepplin, he went wild over music and the man is a brainiac when it comes to music. It is funny, he still thanks me today for giving him a Led Zepplin cd back when we were 15. . .

He seems to be fairly regular, hopefully he keeps updating.

Wow... I've been to Japan for several times, know a lot about it, also about schools and the differences in sexuality etc.... but these articles include valuable information, valuable and funny.... I love it 👍 👍 👍

You certainly wouldnt forget it if it happened to you .

There isn't a single Japanese person, who doesn't know what kancho is. :( I'm so ashamed.

P.S. Seen Solid Lifters' avatar lately?

I've pulled it a couple of times on my friends. But I called it 1000 years of pain (anime thing).

I stopped when I got a pen up me... Editorial 9 done.

Sage also mentioned this happening in Thailand? What's going on here? If kancho is spreading, it must be stopped!

"1000 years of pain" thing is really funny, but I'm glad you stopped doing it.

You would too if you got a pen up ya... But the occasional jab is fun when you watch them jump 3 feet into the air.

Kancho... I'll remember that.

Me too. But I'm too tall for these children, ehm ...... :D

I've never had so much fun while reading an article on the internet. It's so fantastic. And I've to ask myself one question:"When a Japanese or whatever travels to Europe. Is it hard for him to behave normally?"

It's glaring. Try to do this in Europe or the US..

Wow, this is great!

A few years ago some friends went to Japan as part of a school exchange program, only to come back with warnings of Kancho Assassins. Gaijin Smash!

Actually, japanese kids are allowed to do anything... that changes a lot in later school time, especially if the school is good; and believe me you can be in Japan for months and you will not notice that kind of stuff... that's preety much insider knowledge...
Azrael just doesn't seem to realizie that most of his pupils just have no respect for this gaijin " I wanna be your funny friend not a boss teacher " They treat him like a strange animal... If you reqad all his articles and some other of him, you will soon realize that he is not really the type of guy who has control over a situation ( with his girls etc )... and that is waht these kids realize... they abuse him becuase he is not willing and able to get him self some respect... nevertheless I love that stories, I hope he keeps on updating...

Read "A desparate struggle".3 on 1kancho attack!

"Requiem For a Legacy - Part I" is a funny Kancho one aswell.

FFS, Japan is kinda ****ed up, no offence. Everyone has their own culture.

very perverted, and I thought europe was perverted.

Seriously now, I always thought there was something wierd about japanese cartoons. Take Initial D for example. Takumis chick was a ****ing hoe.

And they were always talking chix and showing their tits and all that stuff.

I mean, where I live its normal to see naked people on tv at any time of the day. From head to toe naked. But Japan is kinda intense.

Kancho, wtf, disgusting.

Ah well it's not that extreme... I mean it's a kids game, and as I said before japanese kids are allowed to do anything, parents are not that strict in that age ( maybe because they know how hard it will be after theier childhood? ) ... in this particular case, well, most of the stories are from wht he calls the "ghetto school" ... Japan can surely be extreme sometimes, but this is a special experience from a single person ( that is not respected btw because he is a clown ) in a special situation ( kids in puberty + they have not the best background )... so don't give too much about stereotypes... Japan is not as hardcore as it sometimes seems ...

When I went to Japan it was great, I didnt have any problems with Japanese people they were VERY polite. If I became a teacher of 12year olds then I may see some silly perverted things.
