Okay guys here's my first ever thread! I am hosting both season long leaderboards as Kolyana is swamped and such.

So feel free to post both races here, just state:
Your Name
Your Car
Your Race (Nurb/Drag)
Your Sector Times

Both season long races are:

Nurburgring - T2 thru T4 times, where I will subtract the time submitted in T2 from the time submitted in T4 -> i.e. you submit a T2 time of 1:30.400 and a T4 time of 2:50.600 I will subtract the 1:30.400 from the 2:50.600 to get your total race time between both sectors. And please feel free to post your T3 as well so we can help track where we may be losing a lot of time ;). Hope that made sense :sly:

Las Vegas Drag Strip - Well ummm....FLOOR IT DUDE!!!!!!! I recommend playing with your shifting points here as it WILL make a HUGE difference.

And remember to follow ALL OLR standard GTP rules here, no cheating of ANY KIND, NO wall touching, 2 tires on at all times etc. And be sure to save your best 'ghost ' replays too! Incase we need verification, but were mainly going on the HONOR SYSTEM so please respect one another. :) And feel free to duscuss EVERYTHING in here, T Times, Final Times, whatever!

Here is the link to the drag race leaderboard, which easily links to the point to point race:
http://www.jumpace.com/gt/AMC/index.htm

Fell free to pm me ANY questions u may have to myself or Kolyana!

Good luck to all!

EDIT!!!! NOTE!!! READ THIS!!!! ----> Just for fun y'all I've had an idea, how about we attempt to drag these AWESOME American Muscle Cars WITHOUT TCS. If you want to feel free to post your time WITHOUT TCS, if u want, its NOT for more points or anything like that. Just for fun (and yes this IS my idea of fun ;)). If enough people want to I'll add it to the leaderboard.

Would you have any objections to the drag racing being in rounds, too?

HHmm....I would ask Kolyana about that one, I'm pretty sure we want to keep it as an ongoing 8 week thing but send her a pm and let me know.

The thing is with doing the drag over rounds is that we're not using different cars, or using setups that would really keep people entertained for any length of time ... pplus there is already a weekly drag series that kinda covers all of that.

Ok, just thought I would suggest it. 👍

Any chance of having the point to point and drag strip on the same page? It shouldn't be too much info, right?

Leaderboard updated and I'm gonna try to trim another .052 off my drag time...hehe

Well, I gave the drag strip a few runs. Started out w/ a 13. 220, now I'm running a 12.725!!!

Off to go test out the dreaded 'Ring!!!

Edit: Not so dreaded....that was a lot of fun!!!

T2: 1:30.008
T3: 2:02.776
T4: 3:00.200

This was an awful run, but I wanted to give something for the leaderboard!!! 👍

Lewie, any tips on improving my dragstrip time? What can I change in the settings to help? and is it better to try and master the whole "no TCS" wheelspin, or just run with TCS on?

As for the Ring ... yes, I found it a huge amount of fun myself. I didn't have a good run, but just the way my Z28 rolled from side to side after T2 was an absolute blast. I'm looking forward to re-running this baby later tonight!

USE TCS!!!! @_@ you have no idea how much it helps on the strip. Pretty much, all you'll need to tune is tranny or suspension, whichever you have.

EDIT: 12.849 on the dragstip. Mwahaha it may not turn fast, but it can get out the quarter miles pretty nice

shorten the transmission and ... what with the suspension?

Kolyana
shorten the transmission and ... what with the suspension?

I stiffened everything in the suspension, shortened the transmission so I'm only using 4 gears (out of 5), and weight balance back over the rear tires.

I actually ran faster w/ the weight ballast at -50 over the rear wheels, and TCS at 5. TCS is all personal, and depends on how you launch. I think that TCS at 3-5 is perfect, and I launch in 2nd gear.

It also depends on the car. Since I'm in the cuda, I can't really launch in 2nd(doesn't accel fast enough). But pretty much what Lewie said. If you need extra help, check out some of the WDS setups. Although tranny setups won't help you, but the suspension setups can point you in the right direction.

OOPS...posted to the wrong place....what a moron. Can somebody delete this?

I don't think any of us can. No matter, you moved your post, so it's all good.

I'll get cracking right on it...

I decided I better get some times for the leaderboard at the drag strip and the "ring". I haven't visited the drag strip much so I didn't know what to expect :boggled: . I ran a 12.686 but didn't know I had to save the replay after each run :dunce: , so I ran afew more times until I beat it so I could save the replay.

Drag Strip

12.643 @ 116 mph

First clean run @ The "Ring"

T2 1'26.591
T3 1'57.642
T4 2'51.893

Gotcha updated hawk, welcome!

I max out 4 times in this run!

T2 - 1'28.823
T3 - 1'59.943
T4 - 2'55.451

T2-1'30.287
T3-2'01.520
T4-2'58.415

Difference (by my math): 1'22.128

Nurburgring:
T2: 1'25.579
T3: 1'55.611
T4: 2'50.659

12.758 @ 125 mph.

RedWolfRacer
T2-1'30.287
T3-2'01.520
T4-2'58.415

Difference (by my math): 1'22.128

I have u down as getting 1:28.128, here's how I calculate it:

I take your time and put into total seconds so my calculator will do it for me:
i.e. 1:30.287 = 90.287 seconds right? Then I do the same for your T4 splits:
i.e. 2:58.415 = 178.415 seconds right? Then subtract:
178.415 - 90.287 = 88.128 or 1:28.128. I hope that made sense.

EDIT: Leaderboard Updated

So, by your methods, I got a difference of 1'25.080? Is that good?

T4: 2'59.932

Total: 1'29.163 (?)
