Pitting Resume (lap info, tire set used, penalties) :

Just ran my first attempt, everything went pretty good until a car I was gonna lap got squirley and I bumped him....on lap 49 and drew a pit.....aaaaarrrrrrgggggg!

Ran testing last night and a race.

I loved the first 12 laps of the race. Even if no podium, will have enjoyed the race. Me and my nemenis (sp.) the Mito FTO had a great racing duel, all 12 laps. Even times I thought was gonna be forced pitted cause of the bumps and him pushing me into a wall or two, but no penatlies.

Just gave this my first run. I was suprised how easy this one was, I thought it would have been much harder. The track seemed to suit my car pretty well.

It probably helped that my line-up didn't include the McLaren.

What was really quite shocking was that the Panoz is actually good for something! That thing is devastatingly quick. I got my fastest lap of the race when that thing smashed me from behind at the end of the S/F straight, and catapulted me forward at 196MPH!:scared:

Heh, I can relate to that. In the Tokyo round my clean run was messed up 3 laps before the end by a GT40 on fried tires getting sideways in the final hairpin and broadsiding me out of nowhere...enough for a penalty :(

BTW, welcome to the JGTC and good luck (also to AlarmedBread)!

Thanks man, I think It'll be fun. Just ran another 50 laps pitting only twice....bad idea, by lap 15 I was losing almost 10 seconds a lap.

Aside from lap and sector times, is there anything else forbidden to talk about?

well, today is the day of my first try...

i´ll try RH, but i think 2 stops is impossible... at least with cars that wear the tires faster in the front/or back

maybe 3 stops, 14, 28 and 42, would be nice if i can get this... well, this week will be packed with JGTC, in WRS we will also be running with JGTC cars

EVERYBODY SHOULD RUN WRS ALSO!!! LOTS OF FUN...
specialy with JGTC cars 👍

Three pits works fine for me with RH in front and RM in rear, but that Castrol Mugen pits only twice at 18 and 36, how do you get 18 laps on RM tires?

Submitting time now, Eats if I get time will get you the replay before I leave this afternoon, if not, will get it to you my Monday after work.

@Drew ~ same way they don't get penalties for trying to remove your rear bumper. :sly: Don't think they AI's are on strong tire wear when it is selected, as a thought. Never tested it really to see if it matters when the tire wear is selected as normal.

For those in the States, Happy Thanksgiving. Enjoy the holiday.

since the AI drives thier tires down to the rims!

they always go off at the middle S

2 stops is certainly possible

have to calcumalate time loss on laps v time loss in pits..hmmmmmm...maybe if i.....ooh better keep that hush ;)

I've run this race twice now and I think I'm pretty much at the car's limit.

Unfortunately I know of someone with 5% more weight than me who's done a faster time. :grumpy: Stupid tyre wear.....

did 22 laps last night before i went to bed just to get a feel for the race...

not sure if i can win against the AI...

i get my 14 laps with RH, but too slow doing that...

also, viper, what´s the word on the pit lane entrance that casio talked about? kind of a shortcut thing... can we use it? (i think not, but its worth asking)

I don't think it's really a short cut. While you can go in the S/F straight side (Cone Side), you can't actually make a pit stop if you do. You can just drive normally, except it's much more dangerous because you're going 170 in a 50 zone.

It probably takes longer if you go though there....But it is a whole lot of fun.

It's gotta be 3 pits for my car, ran again last night ,almost beat the Mugen. His time varies by over 10 seconds, just the luck of the draw. I'm gonna get him!!

I ran my first session last night. No problems beating the AI cars, although 2 stops is impossible with my car.

The funniest thing happens, every time on the opening lap, after turn 1 the AI cars jumble up a bit and the GT-R Concept always gets pushed into the barrier that cuts in toward the underpass before turn 2. When he hits it, the C5R next to him gets flung sideways across the track, and the other cars behind this get involved, resulting in a huge mess of cars flying this way and that at 250+ kph. Scared the crap outta me the first time it happened :)

The cool part is that if I position myself just right coming out of turn 1 I can avoid all this and overtake 3 cars at once while they're trying to regain control. Always a bit of a nervous moment though, because they don't always fly in the same direction.

Anyway, just thought I'd share that with you guys. This happen to anyone else?

that pit cutin isnt faster, if anything its a bit slower since you have to turn in and out of it

the only real use i've found is when playing online if you want to dodge a drafter at the finish line :sly:

Yes, though I have a different line-up so it's the McLaren that gets punted into the dirt, and not until after turn 2.

Unfortunately it takes a while for the RX-8 to wind up so I'm always a bit too far back to take advantage. It does let me get close going through the S-bends.

At least it's nice to know that the AI are not selective. It doesn't matter who's in the way, they're gonna smack 'em. :ouch:

Yeah it's the only problem with rotaries, they need high revs to produce good power so they can be a bit sluggish off the line. Is the McLaren your major rival in your lineup? For me it's always the GT-R Concept, if he's there. I actually couldn't beat him at Tokyo, although he didn't show up in my submitted run.

Hopefully I've managed to get in on this; thanks to Drew for letting me know about it.

I don't think I've seen the answer to a couple of questions I have, so I'll just ask here, if that's okay.

Can an entrant run both classes, part time and full time?

Can an entrant change cars, from event to event, in case the initial selection is unsatisfactory?

Once qualifying is done at the Grand Valley Track, is further qualifying required?

And to Viper: You've thought this out so impressively, I have to wonder if you haven't actually been involved in real world racing? If yes, what type?

I'm out of time for the weekend, but I'll look forward to the results.

Can an entrant run both classes, part time and full time?

Nope, full-time means you're automatically in a team with a partner and part-time a single driver racing when ever he wants to. You can still be in the part-time category and submit for every single race like a full-timer would, but only one driver's category is allowed at a time.

Can an entrant change cars, from event to event, in case the initial selection is unsatisfactory?

Nope, nobody changed his ride since the early draft, and the same thing for the ones who joined with the season in process. With me what you pick first is pretty much what you'll have to deal with. So test the cars around before picking anything.

Once qualifying is done at the Grand Valley Track, is further qualifying required?

Normally you submit your qualification time with all the info and based on that I put you in the right racing class (GT500 or GT300). Then I send you a PM with the available cars and which car # you want. After that you'll enter the next racing session (qualif or race) but never in a session if it already started (each session start on monday). Once you're in you'll immediately see it with your name in the entrants list.

And to Viper: You've thought this out so impressively, I have to wonder if you haven't actually been involved in real world racing? If yes, what type?

I don't do any road course racing but me and my dad are drag racing fans so that's what we do on weekends. :)

Maybe this JGTC thing sounds well structured but it's also because of all the time that was put into it in the beginning. One thing is for sure with me, when I start something it's always to fully complete it. I'm very serious and dedicated in the stuff I do, so let's just say this is not your typical series shutting down after couple of weeks most seen when run by a 15 year old kid. I made it clear when I started this that it would continue in the future on the PS3 with GT5 and that's exactly what will happen. But also the JGTC is now at it's current state in a big part because of the drivers who stayed in this since the start, and I do kindly thank those loyal people for sticking around. 👍 Again, thanks guys.

Oh and also I do favor quality over quantity. Not only quality in talent but also in the sense of quality people, human beings. I personally and sincerely believe we have really great and kind people here in the JGTC series, and that for me counts alot. We did at one time had couple of jackass but those days are gone now.

The McLaren is much faster than anything else in the line-up (even the GT-R, which seems strangely off the pace here). At Tokyo, I couldn't beat the GT-R either, I ended up about 5 seconds behind at the end. It's strange that he's so far off the leaders at this event. *shrug*

I've already informed eatsviper and ls2_297 but unfortunately I have to pull out of the comp. I'm having some health issues and can't put in the time behind the wheel over these few weeks.

I want to thank eatsviper for all his work though, this comp is run really smoothly and you do a top job 👍 Maybe I'll be able to make a full commitment next season.

Later folks.

get well soon buddy, ive been a bit slack lately too with the JGTC so unless another team mate replacement is found, Cus-trol Team Australia may have to pull out of the series.

That's sad to hear, MisterWeary. I've always enjoyed the battles we've had in the WRS.

Hope you can sort yourself out soon. 👍

Yeah I think the GT-R's strength is in it's handling, it struggles with top end. Dunno though, I haven't driven it

@MisterWeary: Get well soon buddy. We'll save a spot for you next season 👍
