JGTC S2 Round 4 Race + Results

Are you sure Teledriel is NTSC? I've heard stories of people dropping PAL replays on NTSC memory cards and vice versa and pooching their memory cards...just a thought.

Congrats to all who submitted a time for R4. 👍

VTRacing takes the win in GT500 and AlarmedBread in GT300.

Casio & hOt6o4bOi completes the podium in GT500, Teledriel & Soyfu for GT300.

My overall performance is about what I expected, with a low hp car and long straights with very little braking I can't really make miracles. The only ****ty thing is that with finishing 5th I'm not loosing any weight. :indiff: Let's try to improve on both of our sides Lewie at Laguna. 👍

Yes, I am NTSC. Back from vacation also now. Sorry about that too Eats, didn't know if I would have time to send the replay before leaving, so knowing that my time was sent with return request of read, sort of was my priority.

And wow, my 2 pitter on RH / RM's no Penalties held up for a Silver :) WOOT!! Gratz Alarmed also.

Gratz also VTR for 1st over in GT500 land. 👍

Gratz to all the podium finishers

Start : RH / RM
Lap 17: RH / RM ~ Fuel
Lap 34: RH / RM

Congrats to the winners, VTRacing in his tire-eating RX-8 :D and AlarmedBread, one of our newcomers! Well done guys.

My position is pretty much as expected. Now, Laguna is a favorite of mine, but I don't know how fast I am realistically, so here's hoping for a good result!

Yay! I'm happy now, I'll stop complaining (at least until we hit Laguna :p ).

I knew I needed to make the most of this race because it was one that would suit the RX-8. Congrats to the other podium getters in GT500: Casio and hot"robo"boi. ;)

And congrats to Teledriel for the podium in GT300 just behind our newcomer AlarmedBread. 👍 Team Rotarz gets a 1-2 finish!!

Bring on Laguna!

wow not expecting that

thanks everyone, looks like sticking behind the FTO for as many draft laps as possible payed off

was able to do low 1'11 alone, low 1'10 with drafting, and coming through the field after thier pits for some more drafting goodness

hey congrats guys, all the podiums...

another race, another winner. hmph, you could ran with RH/RM VTracing. lucky you, i had to put RH/RS to get my tire wear right...

i didn´t place last!

ehhhhhhh!!!

now i´m +2 for laguna, hope that´s good. i tried to redo my race last night, screwd up 2 tries, so i sent my first one... wouldn´t matter, i would not reach 6th anyway, so, lets move on...

btw, has anyone racing the WRS notice how good that xanavi hiroto is? i mean i would trade my ´03 hiroto for this ´01 hiroto anytime...

Wow. Another dead last. Not like it wasn't expected, I just couldn't keep up with them NSX's. I could stay with them untill I made a pitstop, but after that there was nothing I could do. I also had one penealty for running into the wall.

Grats to VT and Alarmed, and all of the podium finishers. Great job guys.

Bring on Laguna. :D

Great job every one. Some tight racing yet again. So after all his whinging, VTRacing ends up winning, those darn rotaries, someone should do something about them :sly: .

But seriously guys, you have to let me win something once this season. I've come second in the race twice in a row, and second in qualifying three times in a row now. Life is not fair :guilty: .....

i think you will have a pretty nice car for round 6 i guess, fuji 80´s... very fast track... or maybe pull out a great win in laguna even with all the weight... don´t worry, it will happen

Had fun guys, wish I could have done a 2 pitter, congrats everone!

Holy crap! How did you finish 44 seconds sooner than me?

I also got a big boost from drafting the FTO and Alfa 155.

Here's how I handled my tires:

L01 - RH/RH
L19 - RH/RH
L38 - RM/RS

The outside tires were red just before pitting but I intentionally pushed them to 19 laps so I could get a try for a top 3 lap on the RM/RS combo (which lasts 12 laps). That was my second run. My first run, I hit the wall on lap 25 and restarted.

I'm sorry I was too late to get in on this one. I think I missed by a day or so getting my entry procedure completed. Oh, well....

For you fast guys in the 500 class, how much did drafting come into play during your races? And was it pretty universal that stops were two, on laps 17 and 34 (or so), or three, on laps 13,26, and 39 (or so). Did anyone actually record the time loss for the in and out laps while running the replays?

Any other interesting observations about round 4?

This is one time I am glad for the FTO in 300 race. USed him alot during the first 12 and somewhere later, when pits caught up to make us even a little more. Enjoyed that one very much. Next race though ...... not one of my favo's cause of the corkscrew.

Drafting didn't really come into play for me. In one of my tries I drafted the McLaren until the first pitstop and managed a 1'04.0. But the passing and re-passing of the car tended to lose more time than I could gain.

In my submitted race the McLaren made a mistake and ran wide in the S-curves early on so I managed to make a few seconds on it. After that our lap times were pretty even, except that I could make time up on cold tyres.

The McLaren also seemed to set blistering laps just before its pitstop, assuming it stayed on the road. :p

With my strategy I went for 2 stints of 13 laps, driving carefully, then 2 stints of 12 laps going flat out on lower fuel.

my strategy was...

rh/rm all the way 17, 34 (noticed laps getting a tenths quicker as fuel load lowered)

drafted fto untill lap 7 when he crashed off at the S

most laps alone werer 10.8-11.1 untill after thier pits i drafted again with some cars doing 10.1 alot

pit got draft with the falken car for more 10.1s, then draft the fto again for a while

pit got behind a subaru for a wihle, then the delta, then fto

i'd geuss 30-35 laps were in the 10.1 range

think the main thing was i got lucky to get in a rythm drafting behind a few cars for most of the race, had put up my top speed a click and was making 180 into turn one

i'm suprised as you are!

That's about where I was, too. My lap times weren't even going up much on worn tires but that's just because I feel confident pushing harder just before a pitstop because I give up trying to save my tires.

I wonder if I had used your pit strategy if I could've got your time. I wasn't able to do much drafting after lap 10, but I might have had more opportunties if I had hit the pits earlier (as you did). That's something interesting to think about.

But I'm glad the RM/RS combo, at the end, paid off with a bonus point.
