Alright guys, here's the qualifying sheet for the pre-season round 1:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/pub?key=0ApxiLS-TgIrqdE9TMFMwWTJnY25ma0ZHSXhzOWU2M2c&output=html

It'll be updated as new times are put in automatically.

Pre-Race Briefing Announcement

Online tire bug:

Due to the online tire bug, which affects your car's handling badly after a pit stop, we will be shortening the length of this event to accommodate a no-stop race. If everyone keeps it to a no-stop strategy, no one can be affected adversely by the bug, balancing the field and the race.

We hope this bug is addressed sooner, rather than later, otherwise we will have to continue to use this workaround method in order to have enjoyable races. The Apricot Hill race has been reduced to 30 laps, or 116km/72 miles. The length of the race will then be around 40 minutes.

Race Start Procedure:

Please, everyone, take note of our starting procedures and be in the rooms early so we can make sure everyone's on the same page. Rolling starts are extremely important to get right for consistent racing, so be absolutely sure you know the ins and outs of the system before joining the room to race. And don't expect to join the room and have everyone explain it to you, that's why it's in the OP, read it back and fourth until you get it. Then, if you really need to, ask questions in this thread.

Since the GT500 cars will be finishing the race in about 38 minutes, we need to figure out a headstart lap gap that the GT300 cars can begin on in order to finish within time of the final lap.

The estimated finishing time of the GT300 cars is 42 minutes. So if the GT300s take a 4 lap headstart, we should be good to go for the finish. And that's what we'll be going with for this pre-season race. The next race in Silverstone will be using an alternate method suggested to me by @VELOCI_2NR that handles the classification more like endurance racing, where the GT500 finishing his race marks the final lap, and the GT300 field has the rest of the lap they're on to finish. We'll see which works best out of the two and run with it for the regular season.

Divisions:

If more than 8 GT500 drivers qualify, we're splitting the class in half. But if it's 8 or less, it'll just be the Division 1 room which will run multi-class.
Say there are 7 GT500s, the rest of the room will be filled with GT300 drivers. If 10 GT500s qualify, 5 will go in D1 with 11 GT300 drivers and the slower 5 GT500s will go in D2 with 11 more GT300s going down the order.

Cheers everyone, thanks for signing up, practicing, marshaling, and enjoying this series, let's make it a great one. If you have any questions, let me know asap so we can get things squared away before the race. But as always, please consult the OP first, as most questions can be answered there easily. btw, division/room assignments will be given out after deadline's completed and we're about an hour and a half from racing.

When is the Q deadline?

I might have to miss the race today, not sure yet.

Hoping the race dates don't clash with the football this year, play off season is coming!

All info's spelled out in the OP.

I don't think it'll clash too much with the NFL, we'll have to wait and see.

I'll be coming in to qualify for GT500 soonish

If you guys wanna check out a bit of our previous race series, The Japanese Grand Touring Series 3 (GT500 championship) here's a video put together by @Tidgney recapping the entire season. The latest video in the series covers Race 5, dual heats at Fuji Speedway.

Don't know I'm afraid, was hoping they'd speak up in the topic.

Any stewards about, wanna get this out of the way

cheers

Where's the event countdown clock? That's really useful for people in diferent time zones and on wich it isn't used the daylight savings bs system.

Thanks for the help but that isn't what i'm talking about, i ment real time Count Down Clock, not event schedule time. I gwess it will be implemented for the regular season then.

My pedal issue has grown worse, and is unusable. please remove me from the entrant list.

Good luck to all.

Edit: I don't have access to anything on PURE forums, can someone correct this?

the login on the pure website forum is separate from the race info page. you'll have to register seperately

since Im new, I have a question, it appears we have a rolling start in todays race. with GT300 getting a 4 lap headstart, what do the gt500's do? Pull over and let the gt300's run 4 laps? Where will the room number be posted?
