Ok, I'm confused with the RUF 3400....mine has 11k on it, engine rebuilt and chassis redone but is still only at 476PP while the spreadsheet says 477
Is that 11,000 miles or 11,000 km? If miles you are beyond the peak hp for the engine so it will only go down from there even with engine rebuilds. A restore ticket should bring it back to the max. If it is km then I chalk it up to GT logic:crazy:

Oh, I thought it started losing it at 15k miles....then I might not need that Evo I asked about earlier, lol

I was debating this line-up yesterday. Seems risky...

FF - Integra Type R '04 426pp
4wd - Lancia Delta Rally Car '92 492pp
FR - Hemi Cuda '71 486pp
RR - RUF BTR '86 500pp

Can someone verify this car:
Subaru WRX STi Spec C '04 - 478pp

That's the standard one I believe, but the '05 premium version shows only 467pp?

Oh man you have some real handfuls in there Koszak!

The Ruf and Lancia are evil without tunes and the old muscle cars have really low top speeds. Test them out ;)

Well, as my RUF is down 1PP, I will test this lineup with the racing hard tyres and no 20PP boost:
FF - VW Scirocco '10 (445PP)
FR - Opera Performance S2000 '04 (493PP)
MR/RR - RUF 3400S '00 (476PP with 11k mileage)
4WD - Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VI GSR '99 (471PP with 34k mileage)
Total - 1885PP

My suggestion:
Replace the RUF with NSX Concept 470pp and the Evo with the premium Evo VI T.M. 473pp

;) this would be get you 1881pp and both great cars.

I was thinking about the NSX (put it in my favs list after I logged into GT5 this morning)...will have to do some tests for comparison.

Ruf is alot easier to drive. The NSX does not react well to mistakes. You could turn 100 laps in the Ruf without spinning...not so with the NSX.

Just remember you can replace your 20PP handicap with two +1 tires. So you will be able to use racing hard for 2 races and SS for the others. Please let people know via the in game chat before the race starts that you are using one of your tire handicaps.

edit --- Tez, Since you came in 4th on Monday you actually loose one of your Handicaps so you will be able to race with only one +1 tire.

Ok :)

What are those numbers, Bowler?

Are there choices (really - like we have issues in FF, etc) in this range?

I had thought about that closer spread during the last race. Was man this running alone stinks.

I solved it this week by being about 1% spread or less in my choices. ;)

At 1400 the spread would look like this: 350 ave. 332 low 368 high. That would include 4 AWD cars. We only have six to choose from with a 10% range.

At 2000 the spread would look like this: 500 ave. 475 low 525 high. That would include 3 FF cars. We have 8 to choose from with a 10% range but two of those are hybrids and aren't really usable due to battery death so it's really 6 to choose from.

It's really only and issue at the very end of the range. Once you get back to 1425, you would get the 2 AWD cars back. Once you get to 1970, you get back two of the FF cars.

It's just a thought that I threw out there. I'm sure there are more issues that I didn't think about but closing up the gap would make the racing closer over the course of the night.

Don't limit the range too much. I like having options just in case. But another thing to consider...if you limit the PP range much further then you will need to take away the option of using extra PP as a handicap. Adding 20 or 30pp to your total and limiting the car choices will make it a little difficult. Most people take the added tire options anyways but just thinking out loud.

Monday tentative:

FF: Civic Type R RM 445pp
FR: M3 '04 476pp
MR: Renault Trophy 486pp
4wd: Skyline GT-R (R34) '99 475pp

hey guys,

Sorry I have not been very active on here the last few weeks. Work has been kinda crazy. That being said My schedule will be changing slightly in a few weeks that should allow me to race more often:)

Now on to business.

I have thought about adjusting the PP spread but I am not sure it is needed. I like the fact that you can choose to throw one race in the hope of dominating another. This does not mean you will win or have close racing but if that is the race you want to run then go for it. I think Owens found out that it only works if others are doing the same. Nothing will hurt your overall chances of winning the night more than being 30-40pp higher than everyone else in one race. As the fields have gotten bigger this has become more apparent.

Now if everyone wants to restrict the PP then I am happy to do that. But let me just say this. You can already restrict your PP without limiting the choice of others;) I think a balanced PP will give you the best chance of winning. Not that I know from experience:)

Second thing to bring up. We have been averaging about 11 racers per night which is awesome:tup: If we get a few more regulars we will need to think about how to deal with a full room. What are peoples thoughts on this?

Next I want to throw out having some scheduled practice sessions. I am just thinking informal sprint races (10minutes max) running four combos. Then repeat if people want to go again and tweak there lineup. My thought is to do this on Thursday night. I know that some people will be in the SNAIL practice rooms but I am curious if we have enough people who do not run SNAIL practice to make it a viable option. 4-6 people should make it a useful practice session. If there are any other times people would like to try to plan a practice then please let me know.

And finally i have been thinking about doing a retro PP night. The thought is that we set a PP and can only run cars made prior to 1990. We will have to find the sweet spot for the PP but might be a fun chance to run some cars we would not normally run. Any thoughts or interest in that?

Thanks so much guys for making this (in my opinion) the best race series in GT Planet:) It would not be that if not for all of you taking part:cheers:

I'm all for practice on Thursday nights. I can never forget Racefan78 always picking a lineup that is very well balanced. He always finished in the top 3.

I like the idea of the top 3 finishers in a race have to enter first in the next race.

I'll do thursdays when I can. I got the OCD RS200, which is good because my lowest mileage RS200 was 2X,000 so it was down to only 437pp. And I finally got a Lutecia trophy car that isn't yellow! It's red, #5, and it makes me want to change my whole line-up now...

I usually don't do the Sunday lineup practice anyway so I can probably make Thursday for this as well.

Ok I pulled the trigger on it. Testing after work today:

FF - Integra Type R RM '04 469pp
4WD - WRX STi '02 465pp
FR - FT-86 G Sports Concept '10 483pp
MR - Lutecia Trophy Race Car '00 487pp
