Whenever I enter with an close group of cars I always tie with 1 or more people and I never have a high enough result to win that tie breaker. When I win a race because I put a duck in my lineup I never tie with anyone!

Fast N BMW

Can't get ride of the white thing following me. O, and Ice Warden you lost your spare

Don't you touch the Bemer Owens...

I can't see nothing but white

Can't believe the BMW couldn't get around in the draft to win..:ouch:

Hey Guys can I get two pieces of info from Mondays Race please?

What car did Racefan use in Race 1

What car did Raymann use in Race 3

Thanks

8 43 raymann500

Congrats to Owens and Ken for first and second:)

Koszak coming in third means that you loose your handicap. I am sure that is a mixed blessing but congrats on coming third. That is a great performance.

Welcome back Racefan. It is good to see you on the Grid again.

Tex. I hope we get you on the track for more than one race next week:)

No problem Joby. Back to last place, haha! :dunce:

Testing tonight (hopefully) or tomorrow after work (much more likely):
FF - Integra Type R RM '04 469pp
4WD - Evo IX GSR RM '05 511pp
FR - C5 Z06 '04 514pp
RR - RUF RGT '00 506pp

Can I suggest he doesn't lose the entire handicap.

Maybe 10pp extra vs the 20pp extra.

So basically the extra can be.
Level 3 = softer tire & +10pp

Level 2 = softer tire & no pp bonus

Level 1 = +10pp run the spec tire for the week

Normal = no bonus

My thought had been like this. Last place for a night = +1 handicap (10PP or +1 tire). This is cumulative to a total of +4 HC.

If you finish 4th you loose 1 HC, 3rd you loose 2 HC, etc...

I am happy to discuss and hear everyone's opinion.

So where would I end up?

One consideration is where the handicap got you up to, not just where you place. Some sort of a lose some of what allowed you to be more than just a grid-filler.

👍
If you are winning every week then loose your handicap. I think Kosak shouldn't loose anything.
I also think the guy that wins two weeks in a row should be handicaped.

Not picking on you Owens. Joe and I have also won two or more in a row.

That is ok. I didn't win two in a row. Been a few weeks since this past weeks win.

Here's how I would handle the PP adjustments.

1st Place = -3pp
2nd Place = -2pp
3rd Place = -1pp
4th Place = 0pp
5th Place = +1pp
6th Place = +2pp
7th Place = +3pp
8th Place = +4pp
9th Place = +5pp
10th Place = +6pp
11th Place = +7pp
12th Place = +8pp
13th Place = +9pp
14th - 16th= +10pp

At 20pp Bonus you gain the softer tire and lose your 20pp. However with the tire you can now be added more pp too. ;) so cap the driver at +40pp however that would be +1 Tire and +20pp max

This would accumulate weekly. Eventually the PP bonus and negative hit would level out the field.

New guys we usually know their speeds and can place them fairly with what others similar to them are at.

Yes? This would also open up cars to be ran. So you can pick some fun but slower per pp cars and gain some PP for the next week.

If someone could get this coded it would be great addition to the series. IMO

With the above his week would have:

Owens = 1997pp
Ken = 1998pp
And so on using the above chart.

Just glancing at all the ideas involving formulas and charts...it makes my head throb :)

Whatever the higher powers decide is fine with me.

I like to look at this series from the outside looking in sometimes. At a glance a new guy might think it's somewhat complicated...what with having to choose your own cars, all with different drivetrains, within certain PP parameters and choosing tracks from our groups.

Once you get past all that, you come into our room and see how cool and awesome we are to be around. Nice and relaxed, fun, verbal banter and lest we forget the awesome racing and race craft.

In light of all that awesomeness it may not behoove us to add much more complexity to an already relatively complex series.

I will go with whatever you guys decide cuz I'm just a happy go lucky guy :) But I thought I'd toss in my two farthings.

Woah I didn't mean to cause the above ruckus, haha. I'm fine with losing my handicap for this week's race and maybe even for good, as this series has immensely helped me get better. Tez did well two weeks ago and dropped one of his handicaps for the last race so it is only fair for me to do the same.

I agree with Joe that the regulations and league layout could seem daunting to a newcomer, but I also see the need for standardizing handicaps. I'm all up for discussion Monday night and it looks like we already have some good ideas.

One more thing...

Someone may end up getting a handicap due to making crappy car choices one week. A fast guy running off track a couple of times can put him at the bottom one week. If this series gets too serious, people may end up sandbagging one week in order to gain an advantage the next.

Just some random thoughts I woke up with today :)

To newcomers this series is different enough from other series as to make it seem pretty complicated. There is a lot of planning involved to get on track. And bad car choices can make fast driver very beatable. A couple of on track incidents can take a potential nights podium and turn it into a bottom three.

This could all adversely affect a complex handicap system. Half the drivers wouldn't even know where they stood from week to week :)

Because we are not all running the same cars a hard line handicap system might not be the best idea.

I do like that the top finishers should be handicapped. Ken, Owens, Bowler and people like them should probably run with a handicap. Not sure if they should run harder tires or get fewer PP but they can talk about it and let us normal guys know what they come up with. :)

Oh the sand bagging would be obvious. IMO. If seen the we fly / drive to persons house and sand bag them in the sand bag. LoL

Haha

On a different note, does anyone know how to save our race replays? Is there a setting I can turn on to make it do that automatically?

Thanks Joe.

I'll be testing some cars after work today probably around 4 or 4:30pm EST. Let me know if anyone wants to do a little racing.
