I made a bad rep for myself last season so I'm using this season and the Touring Car Series as ways to improve my race craft in the hopes of being on a team next season.

The below listed drivers (not listed in BOLD below) need to confirm their intent to race in the All Star Race by replying in this topic (no later than 8:00pm eastern on TUESDAY 2/3/15 so we can ensure the alternates can participate) with a simple post that they plan to race this week (Example - I plan to race this week). I just might be able to make this one but I haven't raced this car before so I'll try to get a bit of practice in tonight. Is the tyre wear setting on fast or very fast?

@Zii1993 and @Parcells2 will be combining their collective skills to form this new team. If we can’t beat you on the track we’ll deluge you with nonsensical commentary on your questionable lineage or just barrage you with silly mind games. Nothing is considered too low-brow for team Zippo so be forewarned on and off the track!

Zippo lighters will be our primary sponsor for the season as we ignite our flames to burn through the competition or destroy the evidence of our failures, whichever puts us in a better standing.

So construct your feeble teams as you see fit, you’re all vying for second place this season!

Each driver will be allowed to cast 1 vote for each grouping of tracks from the list below.
Number of votes for each selection will equal the number of races participated in previous season.
(If you raced in all 8 races, your vote will carry the weight of 8 votes. If you raced in 1 race, your vote will carry the weight of 1 vote)
Top tracks from each grouping earning the most votes by 11:00pm Eastern Tuesday 2/3/15 will be chosen for Season 7.

Quick question: how are you guys able to have your volume up to hear the engine and still keep your mics on?

Not sure what you mean exactly.

Me for example, I have the ps3 Sony brand one piece headset that's just one speaker and mic, so game sound comes through my speakers and peoples mics come through the ear piece. I play with sound rather loud so I actually mute my mic from sending sound to others unless I am currently speaking.

Most people as far as I know have the nice turtle beach headset, which I believe is full headset (speaker for each ear), which puts out game sound and voices in a perfect way, and can have it as loud as they want without it coning through their microphone
 
I gotta get me one of those then. For normal racing nights we have mics off but when we practice I have to mute mine so you don't hear engine noise. I think I have the same little headset as you. It came with SOCOM years ago.
 
I think if you just turn down your speakers a bit, the mic wont pick it up

Same one. I don't like how when it's in I only hear game noise from the other ear. And it beeps when it's on mute so I usually take it out so I don't get to hear what anyone else might be saying.

I hear game from both ears plenty fine. I don't have a foam peice on the ear peice or anything, maybe that's why I don't know. I've adapted to the beep over time
 
You might try turning down your mic sensitivity a touch within the PS3 menu.
