Knock-Out Qualifying Lobby is now open - 1472-6399-8665-9412-7101

Nine positions are up for grabs in tonight's Knock-Out Qualifying session. Top 9 lap times from tonight's Knock-Out qualifying will advance to the Main Event. Top 10 confirmed drivers, please do not enter the lobby until KOQ is complete at around 8:45 eastern. I will update the thread and lobby title once we are finished with qualifying.

As a reminder, prior to anyone joining the lobby (KOQ or Main), please clear your cache to help ensure quality connection.

Thanks Joe... I debated the watermark and then decided to go ahead and include it with slight transparency to suggest that I did a little bit of work on them and they were all deliberate choices with a photographic eye. I didn't mean to be pretentious about it.

Just out of curiosity Grim.. Whenever you get to this not hurry... If I started the lap before time ran out, does my flyer still count? I pulled over than thought about what I did!! lol or should I have stopped like I did?? Man... I need a new hobby!! Good luck!!!
 
One of these days i'm going to punch my asshole of a boss since they kept me at work until 6pm PST yet i asked if i could leave at 1pm so i could spend time with my mom for her birthday and was told yes. But now when i see them on saturday im going to thank them for ruining my day.
Well i now have no chance at making the all-star race now.
 
First race. Watch the replay. I think it's the 2nd or maybe 3rd lap. Someone was stopped on the track and caused a massive collision. Leading up to it many cars were going off pace and Clutch and I were trying to get around. I got a collision penalty instead of the other car ghosting. I would've been fighting for a top 10 position if it wasn't for that.
 
That was some good, clean, fun racing right there. I'm really liking this series. Thing runs like clockwork. Nice job keeping everything on pace. Nice to meet all the new drivers as well.
 
Great night of racing again grim. Hope we get that team championship since my strongest track was a bust.
 
Yea, I had a great time up until my mistakes. I'm not trying to come off as snooty. I honestly was enjoying myself, it was tight racing. I broke under pressure lol. I will watch the front runners in the replay and see where I can improve. It's nice to have some close battles side by side where genuine driver experience makes the difference. This is what GT was made for. Ignore the crappy AI. There's real "I" out in the world. And it's here.
 
I thoroughly enjoyed myself, in spite of my pace... I hope I stayed out of everyone's way for the most part. Parcells2, apologies for that mid-race bobble that caused you to whack into me.

Great racing. My tyre strat worked good for a soild 2nd place finshed both heats. I feel bad for the lag spikes! Everytime we were having a battle I get a pass then I spoke someone behind me... It was a laggy race for me sometimes.
 
Besides just a few incidents tonite we really had some excellent racing going on in these cars and at Brands Hatch. It's so awesome to have a full lobby of cars running hard like a big freight train! Great being able to go thru turns two wide and sometime 3 without wrecking, that is some clean hard respectful racing right there! Great series Grim congrats to all the podium finishers and all the other racers on the track tonite, well done.

Yes very good! Great racing. Crz fun car to drive. Last race couldn't believe I had that much fuel.

Since I really dont know where everyone is on the track easily in the live timing view, Once I call time, the times are locked. I then quickly take a picture of the times and go from there. You just barely finished the lap when I called time. So close though. You are getting quicker though each and every week.
 
This season is going to age me a few years I can tell. Second race was a all out battle every lap and really enjoyed the racing. the lag bomb hurt but that just made it that much more interesting to try and work my way back up only to have used up my tires in the process. Going to be a fun season. Results will be posted tomorrow night.

Ok.. yeah that would be tough! And I thought I just snuck that last lap in cause I saw your time you posted and I had it beat.. then came the dreaded "correction" and game over! Yeah I'm getting there! I dig this car.. it's a nice stable ride! Complete 180 from lasr seasons car!! Well I will give a go again next week.. Nice turnout again.. Nice work on another awesome season! Thanks Grim!!
 
So I learned a couple of valuable lessons last night that should help me out.

Learn how much you need at pit stops. Extra liters cost ALOT of time in the pits.

If you are going to try a different tire strategy then be aware that you may come up on people whose braking points are a lot different than yours...so beware.

In the first race I stayed out till the 26min mark to try and make late banzai run on the leaders. In the process I came upon Parcells whose tires were not nearly as fresh. In the last corner he broke earlier than I needed to and I accidentally pushed him off track. I waited up and we both dropped from 3rd to 6th. I will try and learn from these issues....sorry Parcells, good racing.
 
People trying different pit stop strategies is one of the key elements that adds to the appeal of this series. That, and the good humored approach by all drivers in the field. It makes for a very enjoyable night's racing no matter where you end up.

Accidents and glitches can happen but the driving standards have been consistently good. I just have to work on my own consistency to keep it on the track! :dopey:

Well done on your first night out Joe. I better pull up my socks before I start getting team order messages from management. :D
 
Great racing last night everyone. Except for some ill-timed lag spikes that seemed to affect a number of us, overall it was some fantastic racing and exactly what I expected except for my second place qualifying position for race 1, that was a tad surprising.

@Ice_Warden – No worries about the race 1 racing incident, crap happens. Just so you know, I use a wheel and simply DO NOT bother typing anything on these nights because it bothers me to type messages with my wheel so I don’t. Parcells could be an arsehole but not because I didn’t acknowledge your sincere apology after the race.

@Jazznoise – same message as ice_Warden, no worries bud about the race 2 mishap. You were clearly trying to get out of my way which is greatly appreciated but, if I may, you may have been trying “too hard” to let me by which caused you to screw up which totally caught me off guard as well hence our minor collision. In any case that incident nor my stupidity of mistakenly taking on full fuel during my pit stop prevented me from a podium finish in this race…that fiasco was totally on the brutal lag spike I received going into turn 2 ¾ through the race…smashed me into the wall, lots of car damage and lots of lost places…just as well the mics were off at that point cause Parcells was involved in moocho cursing when that happened.

@brntguy – We’ll get those pesky Grimm/Fallen_Log bozos next race buddy. Parcells has a plan!!!
 
I plan to make it from the mid-field to the Top 10 by the end of this season. And figure out a tire strategy instead of just pitting after I make my first big mistake.

In some cases midfield is better than top 10 ;)

The tough part about Brand Hitch Indy is that it's so short. Pitting naturally has back cars easily catching up. You can't really get a big enough lead to negate that. You can on longer tracks that have tougher sections. But with a car this stable, it's gonna be really tough to open up a gap.

Yeah I am happy with my result tire managed good and my pit strat worked good. 2nd place in a row. Special stage for next weekend is gonna tough on tires. I wanna see how it is gonna turn out.

Why even bother bro? I tried for 15 mins and finally got in. Started about at the same time as walt_100r. He got in.. I didn't, cuz Pd is ****. Believe me the whole time I was saying I'm not gonna make KOQ.

I'm not sure I understand what it is you want me to do. I have the KOQ lobby open for 40 mins so folks have plenty of time to try and get in. The first time I saw you attempt to get in (from what I could see from within the lobby) there was less than 4 mins left and don't think you would have had time to get a time logged.
 
I mean, let's play a quick game hehe
