Out of curiosity, how many hours do most of you have on PCars? I just hit 53 hours total, but I’ve got a feeling you guys have bunch of hours invested in it. Just curious.

You can compare yourself to people while you're in the lobby with them, but not too sure about when youre not with them.

It was the coldest snowstorm in over a 100 years. It doesn’t usually snow when it’s that cold.

Both legs were broken Colts, I’m a man of steel now, what good possibly go wrong. Knocking on wood!

I heard it was the coldest in a century, but we got all the snow saturday night, then it got stupid cold, but its suppost to be 4 tomorow so, the flooding will be cute.
Imagine you broke all 3 legs?!

Exactly 100 hours more. And that's with about a six month hiatus. From January to April of last year I was only able to play on weekends, and actually hardly at all because I'd been out of town all week and "the fam" wanted to spend time with me. Then in April my back went to complete shenanigans, so then I didn't play at all until I started racing with you guys again. So, I'm betting that there's some serious hours here if I have 153!

14 days and change. Most driven cars are the BMW M1, Ferrari GTO and Lotus 49C. 12 days more than you - I need to get a life and go outside once in a while. And as much as the M1 is one of my very avorites, I couldn't dominate the night as I hoped to. Who puts a damn wall in the middle of a race track... the Italians, that's who! Fortunately I did have some great racing with you, Lakes and Bear, the three gentleman drivers of the Lobanero Lounge. That's the best part. I'm glad I was able to squeeze in when Shaun left. Good times guys.

@Aero: same here, it’s “freezing” in Austin. People are walking around in winter jackets and were looking at me like I was crazy for being in shorts and a t-shirt. They have no idea what cold is.

It's cold by me right now too. 26 °C

It's all relative. When I get paged out at 3am and it's 63' I shiver. Not like I used to shiver in New Mexico, loading and flying freight, when it was 17' and freaking windy. Fortunately, I had my Wolverine 'Mammoths' (w/1400 grams of thinsulate) and a gumby suit (combined with a hoodie and long johns). Those things sure helped on the ramp and were essential when the heater went out at 12,000 feet. Then it was something like 0 degrees. Cessna makes some great airplanes, but the jackwad who put the janitrol heater over the front wheel well, and the reset switch in the wheelwell, was an idiot. Yup dressing like that was essential to not freeze to death in such a situation.
I grew up in Colorado, but I hate the cold now. Some people enjoy it, but tt is painful to me. Rich or poor, I will never again live where the temp drops below 50 degrees.

Well, if I could wrap up tonight's racing from my perspective in one word: VICTIM!!! It seems anyone else's mistake somehow found me taking a beating. Well, that's racing folks. Still more fun than having to... well... do something other than racing with our buddies. I will admit, Steve and I had a very good race at the end of Race 3. Steve had the long straight gearing advantage and cleanly took advantage with a turn one pass. Not to mention, he had to close in for several laps, so well done Steve.

The Pass: (01:34:00)
This one's worth a look, as if you pay attention, I ran a defensive line into turn 1. Steve still went with an aggressive, inside overtake. He and I both exhibited excellent racecraft in my opinion. I defended, but didn't swerve to wreck either of us. Steve held the inside without making contact, and knew he could gather the car up on exit. My hope was to get a run on him out of the exit - No dice. Some darn good racing there. Steve, you need to start streaming your races - I'd love to see that from your view!

Also had some fun racing with @GTLehman and @GUTTERBOY3007 in the final race. Just wish I wouldn't have been fighting my way from the back. Whaa-whaa-whaa...

Edit After Full YouTube Coverage Released:
If you guys remember me saying my car was handling different than in Qualifying, watch the first lap of my Race 1. It's crazy to see how much I was struggling with my car (01:45:00). The tires were locking up when I touched the brakes, the front was washing out, back end was kicking out, and the gearing was just off. And I'm pretty sure Mike had the race settings the same as qualifying too. Just odd, but believe me, I don't mind these oddities. In fact, I kind of like it compared to the obsessively boring predictability and repeat-ability of GTSpurt's races. But I still just like to point it out. Especially if it gives me a tiny bit of an excuse for a poor night's performance. This was a car I was pretty confident in, and it was biting me in an naughty way in that first race.

(Full race footage waiting on YouTube approval for now - as always).

I had that problem when i first started A class. Whatever could go wrong did go wrong. I almost broke gtsport again because of the frustration even though i was playing pcars2. It just feels good to break gtsport for some reason. Anyway i agree with you. Racing is like life. Alot of ups and downs just do what you need to finish.

Yep, we had some good door to door clean racing, some good clean passes on both our parts. That's what we get together for, is laps like that. Everything else is just waiting.

Mr. Baawesome here, (won't be saying that again for awhile :( ). Another great night, well, for me anyways, not so sure about Slobban (aka DP) :ouch:
I hope you guys aren't getting too tired of the vintage stuff, as we have one more week of it to go to satisfy my yearnings of missing certain cars while I was gone. We will be going back to the three 30 min races with pit stops next week, with a little twist on the night, stay tuned!

Congrats to @The__Camel, this weeks "Mr. Awesome" for the Group A win
Congrats to @aerolite, this weeks "Mr. Baawesome" for the Group B win

I like the vintage stuff. Its fun heel toeing and rowing the gears of the ol carb'd engines of the past. Congrates aero and camel on the class wins.

Thanks for letting me know how many hours (days in some cases) you guys have on PCars. I was just wondering how much practice and time people put in to get as fast as you guys are. Fixing my wheels deadzones helped, and before Monday nights race I set the FFB, degrees of rotation, flavor/gain/volume/tone/FX which helped because I could actually feel what the car was doing. Before, my settings were so far off my cars steering always felt numb and it was like I was driving on ice. If anyone has a T300 and wouldn’t mind sharing settings with me to try, I’d appreciate it. If I can fine tune it I think it will help, along with some quality practice sessions. I know I probably won’t be snagging the top spot on the podium any time soon, but consistently running mid-pack instead of last is my short term goal.

Wheel calibration: currently 900/215
FFB: Raw
Gain: 100
Volume: 55
Tone: 55
FX: 60
Menu Spring Strength: 0.15

I forget which two calibrations you can change on the fly, but I mapped them to my button box. I adjust them per car. Makes a lot of difference in my opinion. After tires warm, I'll dial up or down depending on whether the steering is too heavy or I'm just not feeling the front tires slipping with understeer. If you watch my YouTube feeds closely enough you'll see me go to the HUD screen during qualifying and adjust them while watching the graph - to make sure I'm not doing anything crazy that'll cause clipping.

Oh, and @yogi bear , let me know when you get the T300 up and running. There's some awesome options you'll want to know about. You'z gunna' likes 'dat 300 bro!

Off to the mountains this weekend. So I'm thinking next weekend I'll hook it up.

Have fun, and be safe. We don't need anyone else flying the Handicap Banner in their pit-stall.

(Alex - this is your joke! If any of us end up in hell over it, I'm blaming you! And I can continue to make jokes - because I'm actually considered disabled, and one of the guys in the "Special Olympics." Tread lightly, everyone else.) I still feel like I'm walking a fine line :nervous::scared::lol:.

:gtpflag: Car and Tracks for Jan 28th :gtpflag:

Alright guy's, this Monday we are kind of going back to our roots here in the Lounge. We will all race the same car but at three different tracks. I will score an overall finish but will also still do separate Grp A & B scores so you can still be Mr. Awesome and Baawesome.
As I apparently have to move to A, if I had picked two cars this week, then a few B guys would have missed out on this weeks car as the A's would have ran it. So we will all run my favorite car in the game:

1970 Lotus 49C
11212-jpg.795224

We will go to two longer historic tracks and one shorter one, the Österreichring, (the Austrian GP, now known as Red Bull Ring, which is still very similar to the old one).

All races 30 min's with a Pit Stop. I will announce the max starting fuel after some more testing.

Race 1 - Hockenheim Historic (German GP)

Race 2 - Classic Silverstone (British GP)

Race 3 - RBR (Austrian GP)

Sorry for the delay this week, but I have been busy practicing for tonight's inaugural SNAIL vs Lobanaro night. Really looking forward to this, it's going to be fun racing against some of our old friends in SNAIL. It will be very interesting to see how we all do racing on two different platforms in one evening.

Those stats are amazing @Rednose58! I like the one where it shows that we lost in the last round!

That last race was great. 6 of us surrounded you and trying to keep you under control. We had you down to 4th and I was even trying to challenge. But, you worked your way up again. Malevolent (@Sean Renon ) was way ahead and then he went wide in the Shumacher esses and lost his cushion. He kept asking what to do because he know he won't be able to keep you behind. Your fight with him slowed you down enough to keep @SAMHAIN85 in your neck and side by side with you with the rest of us in striking distance. That was one of the longest 20 minute races of my "career", but also one of the most thrilling. Imagine Sean's feelings.....

For the stats I took my Formula 1 fantasy spreadsheet and modified it a bit for last night. For the Data I took the Snail scoring sheets and adapted that for last night.

Amazing stats @Rednose58 :bowdown: Make sure you stat nerds click on file link. Much easier reading.
Enjoyed the racing all night. Great event. I'm wondering if I will get an IR filed against me :lol:. I tapped Red while under braking and sent him into a slow motion spin . All my fault. :banghead: . You had the better car and the results back that statement.

@SAMHAIN85 you got into the 1;47.xxx on the last race. Amazing :cheers: The best I could slide around was around 1;50;xxx.

Spurt is a great looking game and the games interface has many advantages over Pcars. I race Pcars for pure enjoyment, smiles for miles, and the thought of not being able to tell @coltsjugg to "shut the fck up" or to listen @Alex ONeill laugh at his own jokes or listening to the bickering of our married couple is the fabric that makes this game a tuxedo compared to a sterile noiseless library environment.

I knew exactly what you guys were doing, and it was frustrating the **** out of me LOL

But it was all good, clean, and legal racing! We did the same thing in the 2002 in PCARS

It was an awesome race, before we started I did a quick practice of turn 1 braking from a launch which paid off huge, getting around you on the outside and then just trying to keep you behind me.

I knew I probably had the pace to keep up, but if I lost the slipstream I would fall behind, so I did everything I could to defend that spot.

It wasn't perfect, but I got the job done. Boy was I tense.
