@Alex: good call. That seat would be okay in a GT style car, but not for F1. The “bucket” would probably be uncomfortable since it would angle my legs away from the pedals. I might give these pads a try. If I add some snaps to help hold them in place along with the supplied buckle straps they might work. If anyone else has any ideas or suggestions please send them my way.

@Gutter- I wouldn't have any respect for you if they did. Seriously though I would use industrial Velcro instead. That way you can adjust the pads as needed. And the pads look like they will be perfect. Also the cockpit looks awesome great job.👍

@spiff: You didn’t really think ALL those drugs and money made it to the evidence room, now did you! Lol.

My latest creation; Ferrari #27. Still need to wrap the rear wing in carbon fiber, sort out a seat or some padding, and move my T300, pedals, button box and telemetry iPad holders to the rig. Once the paint is fully cured I’ll cut it, polish and then wax it. I also need to get some AGIP decals.

Eventually I’m going to build a platform to put it on to raise it up a bit off the floor and add 4 Aura Pro Bass Shakers/Tactile Transducers mounted to the platform.

And if anyone, especially a Canuck, doesn’t know who #27 was in 1981 you’ll be banished to playing Mario Kart with a controller and not allowed to drive a racing sim ever again!

That is REALLY awesome! Well done. I am curious though - I know you're not serious about wrapping the wing in CF are you.

Makes me think maybe I should do something other than a TV tray. Maybe I can get some bamboo and da kine and make a rig...

Makes sense, as long as the cushions will hold the Velcro. They have covers, so I’ll bet I could get my daughter to sew some heavy duty Velcro on them.

@GT: No, it wouldn’t be real carbon of course. Just the vinyl wrap people use to wrap car parts.

No more like this.

@ Gutter- That is what I was thinking. If your daughter can sew then perfect otherwise you can take them to the local tailor to have them sewn on. Will probably be best with a sewing machine and double stitching for strength. I sound like such a bitch.

Thanks for letting me run with you guys tonight, that was a ton of fun 👍👍
Would you like to join us regularly? If so then I will add you to our active drivers list. I see you have been running with Mcinnis and the boys on Tuesdays, so I'll take it that you'll fit in here just fine :D

Nice rig Gutter, at least your spending retirement the right way!

It’s been a month.
But at least we know not to take the 1 of the bmw’s.
Doesn't count, see response 1 page back :p

"Tick tock tick tock"
I didn't end up racing last week, will discuss it this week, I promise. I'm just avoiding having to fire up Spurt :D

I have only run on Tuesday's twice, I think. Been running with @Alex ONeill and @HazardLvL4 in PITS2 on Thursday's for about a month and a half now. I'm still pretty green at this game - as was evident on Tuesday's Le Mans race ( :O ).

But sure, add me and at least be an alternate if'n someone can't make it. Thanks!! 👍

But the '81 car didn't have carbon... just sayin', I think it looks better.

We absolutely want to race with you again.

What?!? I never took you for a neophyte to the composites used by Ferrari! Lol. But I get what you’re saying, since the car had a aluminum or steel wing. I might wrap it, paint it, or possibly try to polish it. We just used sheet metal we had laying around, so not the best quality steel.

The fuel numbers in the chart should cover most of the cars, but double check for the ones you will be using.

Ok...now your gonna start racing seat envy.... oh and the driver was a certain Frenchman that flew through the air with the greatest of ease. I hope your seat is stronger than his car was.
Oops , I see I'm a double post...fish slap please, prefer a salmon.

My rig consist of a next level racing wheel stand and a plastic folding chair. Nothing says fast like a plastic folding chair.

You guys and your fancy rigs and what not...

I got the stand from work something that they were going to throw away

Dont worry spiff you arent the only one sporting a a fold up chair to race in the best part about it is having a cupholder to hold your beverage

I was just messing with GT about the carbon fiber vs aluminum. The early 80s was when I first started learning about metallurgy and composites for motorsports use. The first time I ever felt how light titanium was it was when I held a titanium motorcycle exhaust and was afraid I’d crush it because it felt as light as a soda can (tonic for SGETTI). I didn’t realize how strong it really was. Amazing to think the Soviets built entire submarines out of it.

And Hermi and the rest of you guys are fast regardless of what you’re racing on. Aero whooped my azzz using a controller while high on pain meds! Lol. Building rigs is just a hobby to keep myself busy.

I can't remember the name of the kid that used to race with us in pcars 1. But he used to kick our asses, and one night we heard a huge crash. What was that!!?? Everyone asked. This kid responds. Oh that was me...my TV tray collapsed. Stunned silence ensued, followed by wtf??.. your wheel is mounted on a TV tray??....
Yep.

Well he must've been eating and driving at the same time
