Well, we got COTA out of the way. I don't know why some of you don't like the track, it's got everything you could want in a race track. Yeah, it's scary, but challenging and a heck of a lot of fun. I think we'll race there every week.....that ok with you David?
Guys, five minutes to look up things on the thread before the race would be really nice. What car are we driving and how much fuel is getting really "old". Lol.
Pots, that dive bomb you were bitching about looked to me like a legit pass. He was lapping you, I don't think there was any touch. Ha, suck it up buttercup. Hey if you hate Potvin, what do you think of my hero, Billy Smith? That's why I wear number 31.
Gutter is back, we missed you bro, the laughs were flying last night.
Dret was struggling with that beastie all night, I think he had to pass me four times in one race, poor Nick.
The only time I saw Sgeti all night was when he was lapping me, well done Mr. Awwwwwesome.
Without a doubt, McInnes was Baaaawesome as well....he's a dik, but still Baaaawesome in my book.
Speaking of diks, I wonder how Colts is making out trying to get home?

Seeing as we have a new DL, we will be trying the new track with some Ferraris next week.....details to follow.

I can't stress enough how much Steve and I enjoy racing and spending time with you guys. The best bunch of Wankers around. Mondays are the highlight of my week, I wake up with a sore stomach from laughing so much....

I have one thing to say about that.

Just from a few minutes this morning I found the Testa Rossa to dive bellissima... it drifts nicely. Absolutley better than the one from GT6 (no surprise). And there's a special one for @Rednose58.

@yogi bear - I am sure you were pulling my leg about there only being one Testa Rossa, and generally I agree, as the '84 Testarossa was merely a road car- but when it came out it was fast and the coolest car I'd ever seen. Of course I was 14 and hadn't truly seen all that many cars...

‘84 testa rossa was my first dream car...

Well... after the lancia stratus

This Ferrari reminds me of this

:gtpflag: Results :gtpflag:

Congrats to the winners last night, it took some steady controlled driving to keep those cars on track.

A couple of comments from watching last night. There was some questionable moves on the starts during the night, but I'll put that down to the cars! One thing that I will take the time to remind some is that we don't stand for any outbursts against other drivers during the night, it is not fair to the other driver, or to others having to listen to it. Watch the replay after the race, a lot of the time the situation was not at all what you thought happened during the race. If the incident is a valid one, then pm the other driver and chat with them about it. If it needs to go further then get Mike and I involved. This is not something that happens very often which is a testament to the league. And it's not to be confused with Mike blaming me for taking him out when I'm half a track away, or for me blaming Alex for always being in the wrong :D

I had to re watch most of race 2 today as Polly, a 29 yr old very pretty British nurse came in and we chatted for most of the race, she actually watched a bit of each feed that was up. She thought Lehman's was the coolest being in the cockpit, and as I had been discussing with her earlier about where we lived, I said to her as we watched Lehman's feed, that he was the pilot living in Hawaii and she seemed to get a bit excited!

Anyways, it's still very tough sitting on the sidelines and watching all the fun and antic's going on in a league I co-created with my bud. It's going to be a while longer yet but I'll get back as soon as I can.

Congrats to @Rednose58, this weeks "Mr. Awesome" for the Group A win
Congrats to @sgohsixthree, this weeks "Mr. Baawesome" for the Group B win

Fantastic racing last night, thanks to everyone. Track was challenging no doubt, cars too, but the rumble strips we'r my worst enemy. I went spinning out of control into a few of you in one corner, even I wasn't sure what happened! But after pooring over the replay for a good while, I got whipped around by the rumble strips because 1/1000 of my tire touched it.

Oooooh, I've got a fan. And my favorite type - British and cute, with a sweet name. Did you tell her that my cockpit skills are legendary?

She probably would have been more impressed if I wasn't constantly spinning off the track....

I'm thoroughly enjoying the Ferrari 250s. I think we need a 'force manual gearbox w/ heel and toe' option. It just doesn't feel right to left foot brake and shift without a clutch on these beauties.

Can't wait to have you back Steve, but glad that you are watching and chiming in. Quite a few yellow Ferraris in the new pack...

Yeah, I was meaning it like that, race cars only please. But,,,, I agree, the 84 testarossa is a nice car. And I gave the the 250 a test last night... against the testarossa and the Aston Martin. They seem pretty close.
But the bot driver in the number 48 Aston gets absolutely psycho on the penultimate lap. New glitch?

I gave them all a try yesterday. I picked the tune that came up as default - most cases it was loose. For the cars with driving aids I turned off the traction control and stability control, but kept the ABS. So, stock straight out of the box. If I were a Car Reviewer - here is what I have to say:

  • Ferrari F355 Challenge
    • Very well balanced. Good down-force. Move comfortably through es-curves. If you adjust the brake pressure a bit you have a good base tune to start from.
  • Ferrari 512 BB LM
    • Not as nimble as the F355, but still a good balance. Obviously less base down-force because of the purpose of the car.
  • Ferrari 250 GT Berlinetta
    • Typical old school with soft suspension and lots of body roll. Brake early, coast into the corners and power out and she's a pleasure to drive and put a big smile on your face. Turn off all HUD information and imagine yourself driving the car without all that other stuff to look at - just you and the dash and the road in front of you. Try to go faster and she starts to slide and becomes a hand full - much like the 66 Stang (but better). Don't know how much suspension and damper tuning is available, but some "resto-modding" on the suspension will help the handling
  • Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa
    • Suspension slightly stiffer than the Berlinetta, but characteristics are similar. Early braking, coasting and power out brings the most pleasure. Try to go too fast and she slides the fun level declines.
  • Ferrari F40
    • Surprisingly easy to handle, surprisingly difficult to handle. Great confidence in the straight line and executing a single corner. Chicanes and S-curves are a bit of a challenge. Some tuning will be required to fix this and it will be a great car.
  • Ferrari 458 Speciale Aperta
    • My new favorite! Wow! Really well balanced and you can control the exit of a corner very well. You have to be accurate executing s-curves and chicanes because of the rear weight bias, but if you prepare and aim well going in, you can get in and out of it with good momentum. (....Mike..... NO!!!)
  • Ferrari F12tdf
    • When Jeremy reviewed this one on Top Gear a few years ago and turned all the aids off he could not drive it. I couldn't either. Very fast, but you have to have the skills to drive it fast around a track. Maybe this one will be @SGETI 's new favorite. (Maybe I should have tried it again after I ran the FXX K - see below)
  • Ferrari FXX K
    • Very, very fast. If you want to practice braking in a straight line and then lift before you start to turn in and coast through a corner, then this car will help you to get it right. If you get it right in the corners and chicanes - pure pleasure. If you get it wrong in a corner she will tank-slap you with the force of a horse-kick being branded....

And there you are folks. If you liked this, the press the "Like" button below. I would like to thank my sponsors - not because they have done anything special, but just because I am AAAAWWWWESOME this week....

Yup.

Well done Red, good review.
Guess what and where we'll be driving Monday.......
Yessir, Mugello it is, in Ferraris...........
A's will drive the Group 4 512 BB LM Ferrari while the B's will drive the F355 Ferrari.
More detail to come tomorrow, I'm taking the night off, I got a new tub of PB today and my dog is all excited.

All are nice, but,, the 512 lemans is still the ultimate Ferrari. At least in my opinion.

The 512BB, 512M or 512S? The 512S is faster, but i like the feel of the 512M better. The 512BB was a pretty cool road car, but it doesn't speak to me like the M...

Oh, and @GUTTERBOY3007 - it's 'Testa Rossa' Testarossa is the 1984 road car. Let's be clear about these things.
I am sure you know why they are called Testa Rossas (or Testarossas).... speaking of which... dang, I LOVE red heads... I wonder if my fan, Polly, is a red head. Probably not, most Brits aren't ginger, save HRH Harry Windsor -- And the chickies from Doctor Who... Amy Pond? And her mum.... mmmmm, ginger heaven right there my friends- Dr. Benton had the right idea.......Bellisima!
Ah, wait..daughter... River Song... Alex Kingston... my, my, my - green eyes deep enough to swim in and red hair all day long...

You have too much time on your hand my friend....lol.......you got it right about Polly..she’s a brunette....I’ll try and get a pic but I can’t promise!

The 512m. The Penske blue and yellow to be precise

@GT: Duly noted. I just like getting Testa, even if she’s not a Rossa! Being female, Italian & hot is all that matters.

And a quick question after reading your post. How often do they make you take a whizz quiz as a pilot? Same with a psych evaluation? I don’t want to read about you stealing an Air Hawaii plane doing loops over an active volcano! Lol.

Most brits aren’t red heads because they prefare to be called, Scottish. The rest are Irish.

I can apparently leave Wednesday if my papers arrive Monday, or I can stay until the 27th.
Now that I know it isn’t so bad, unless you ladies miss me that much I’m probably staying ;)

I'm bummed out... g29 crapped out, took it apart to look for loose connections, rubbing wires, anything!...
Found nothing!..everything tight. It randomly displays the share screen. I'm going to put all those tiny little screws back in and try to reassemble it. One thread suggested it's a bug in the new p cars update, I'll try it with asseto after I get it back together. But either way I'm going to miss mon night Ferrari!!....can't run when it could screw up in any given corner.

That’s a bummer. Sorry Bear.

Do what I’m running. Keep your G29 pedals. Order an adapter from Richmotech so you can use the G29 pedals with a T300 wheel. Give me a call on Facebook messenger and I can walk you through it if you need any help.
Ok.. put the old g29 back together, tried it on asseto corsa, it worked perfect. 10 laps no problem.
Loaded pcars, no problems. Wtf? I don't know what I did? Oh well, as long as it works.
I did notice my g29 feels much better and smoother in asseto. Why is that?. It feels more like a sports car, where as in p cars it feels more like a truck.
Also I don't get a rattling wheel in asseto.

That happened to me with my first G29. Quite distressing to say the least. Eventually had to replace it. Fortunately before replacing I found someone local (one of the very few into sim racing...iRacing though) who I befriended and tried to dig up in it to try and diagnose/fix..... Wasn't able to fix in the end. He had one of them fancy rigs with Fanatec wheels etc. A PC gamer with triple screens and the works. Fortunately for me he had a Logitech G29 he had from before and sitting on the side. Of course I asked him to sell to me and he sold it to me for cheap which is still working since (bout 2plus years now).

Long and short is I had to change my prior G29 as something was messed up inside. Kept the pedals as spare though which came in handy when the other one needed cleaning. One needs cleaning right now so spare pedals swapped in until.

Hope since you did whatever yours keep on working but you never know. I would next like to get one a dem fancy Fanatec (most likely will be the CSL Elite for PS4) but can't afford more expense right now cause I already spent a bunch of money recently otherwise....Soundbar, ButtKicker Gamer 2, accessories, V-Rally 4 and other stuff and also have some other expenses coming up so I brokes for the while.

Mine has been doing the share screen, but only when trying to chose 'ready' or 'drive' when stating a race. It seems if I pull back on the pedals it lets me select the correct option but otherwise just keeps bringing up like a stuck button.
I had throttle issues last week and then the next day it was fine. It seems using a manual shift eliminates the sticking becasue I am lifting off for shifts as opposed to the semiauto.
I want to clean them again before Monday. If I start having too many issues, I'll just get a new G29 and pedals (or maybe listen to Alex - God forbid) - this set is three years old, and the tropics are hard on electronics.

@Alex: Have you thought about just using an automotive floor mat and adding a metal heel plate? I have them in my cars and they make heel and toe pedal work a lot easier since your heel is on a solid platform instead of being on soft carpet. You just push the mounting bolts through small holes you cut into the floor mat. Just search eBay or Amazon for “floor mat metal heel plate” or “floor mat metal kick plate”.

I like your rig & the inverted pedals. I’m thinking of moving my TV right behind the wheel base like yours is. What FOV are you using? That looks very realistic, FOV degree wise in cockpit mode.
