Wow Alex, you certainly have put the carpet through it's paces. Maybe some of that indoor/outdoor stuff on the big roll at home improvement stores? We use it for camping carpet and I've had a 12'x14' piece hold up very well for several years. Or cooler yet, some aluminium diamond plate cut to fit - Mmm, that'd be sexy. I installed the Ferrari update today and then limped upstairs crying. I won't even open the game up to look at it knowing I can't take some laps. Lord have mercy on me! I just want back into my sim-racing routine!

Ohhh... I like Gutter's idea!

Yeah, we miss you. But your health comes first.

.....I do need to find a better cover for the floor than speakerbox carpet. My shoes have worn holes in it.
You can say that again. You certainly advantaged that poor rig carpet. Needs recovering. I like Gutter's idea including the metal heel plate for your razor heels. Nice home-made rig though and it seems you even have a handy cupholder to hold your favourite beastly cold beer.
....Nice big screen too. What size screen is that Alex?

.....Guess what and where we'll be driving Monday.......
Yessir, Mugello it is, in Ferraris...........
A's will drive the Group 4 512 BB LM Ferrari while the B's will drive the F355 Ferrari.
More detail to come sometime next year
BTW, nice combo Lobbie. Did some practice runs and that Ferrari F355 Challenge driving real sweet.
Mugello (GP and short) awesome tracks too. Not like them devil COTAs last week which I never want to race on again...unless is with slow cars maybe.

@Alex: Have you thought about just using an automotive floor mat and adding a metal heel plate? I have them in my cars and they make heel and toe pedal work a lot easier since your heel is on a solid platform instead of being on soft carpet. You just push the mounting bolts through small holes you cut into the floor mat. Just search eBay or Amazon for “floor mat metal heel plate” or “floor mat metal kick plate”.

I like your rig & the inverted pedals. I’m thinking of moving my TV right behind the wheel base like yours is. What FOV are you using? That looks very realistic, FOV degree wise in cockpit mode.

Ordered!

Do you have a link from what you ordered Alex? All I kept coming across were UK sites that had them. Anything in the US? Eventually, when I do get back into the seat, there's going to have to be some modifications in my sitting position. More laidback, kinda F1 style, to reduce the amount of arch in my back. I've always prided myself in having the classic road car sitting position, because those are my favorite cars to drive. But I'm going to have to get a little more stretched out when I return. But while I'm making mods I'd like to dress the floor up a bit like Gutter showed. And I've been wanting a dead pedal ever since the first time I saw yours. Cup holders? No need. I never sat my beer down .

I'm looking forward to seeing the new cars and track tonight guys. The more feeds the better! @sgohsixthree, Shaun, please have twitch running so I can hear everyone, thanks. I'll try to be on about 10 minutes before racing starts.
Trying a couple of different things with meds today so I hope I'll be coherent!

Mike may have mentioned it to few of you already, but last Monday I went for some nerve testing as I have been having issues with my left foot. It is basically called foot drop, but I can't lift my foot up, go left or right, or move my toes. I knew I likely had some nerve damage, or either all the stuff that got busted in that area plus the swelling was stopping it from moving. Well the nerve doc confirmed damaged nerves in the sciatic system up near where the pelvis was damaged. His prognosis was it is unlikely I will ever have any of those motions in my foot function again. Sure wasn't what I was expecting to be told and was pretty bummed for a couple of days. One saving grace is that I can still rotate my foot in the downward motion, so I can push down with the ball of my foot. I will have to wear whats called an AFO brace which holds the foot in the up position. I can get a really cool lightweight carbon fibre one custom made. I'm still holding out for a chance that I can prove them wrong. Doc said if in a few weeks I can start to curl my toes then they can look at an operation where they can take good nerves from somewhere else and transplant them where the damaged ones are. This will have to happen in the near future because the muscle will atrophy and eventually die which means a good nerve would mean nothing.
But pushing down means still being able to left foot brake in my rig, and push a rudder pedal and operate toe brake in an aircraft. Not so good for up shifting a motorcycle.

I'm still on 50% weight baring on my left leg, but next Tuesday is my next follow up with the surgeon and I'm almost certain they will give me the go ahead for 100% weight baring. I have to have this before I can leave this hospital and go to rehab. I'm on the list for that rehab center, it's probably the best in the city and my government plan will pay for it all. So I'm hoping that by mid week next week I'm heading to the General Hospital Rehab center. You live there just like I am here with a nice big room and private bathroom. I'd like to think I will only need a couple of weeks there but I don't really know. It feels like forever, (almost 3 months now), but they keep telling me I'm doing an amazing recovery for the trauma and injuries I've had. The General Hospital is only five minutes from Lobban's place, so maybe I can get him to visit me there, he really is afraid to leave the city and venture out here!

Sure can't wait to get back to my rig, it's even harder reading about the Ferrari and track updates! Have fun tonight, and keep an eye out for a message or two to come up on your screen. If I'm watching your feed I'll try to time it with a straight, except for Lobban, I'll do the usual bombardment of messages at the most inopportune times :D

He's not telling you the whole story.....there's another uncircumcomdaptored muscle that's had nerve damage from many years of self abuse, maybe the doc can put some blood into that pee faucet.

Mugello long.....15 laps
Mugello short...30 laps
Mugello long.....15 laps
No weather tonight, but the time will change for each race.
Fuel for the As....24 liters to start.....
Fuel for the Bs....22 liters to start.

I'm thinking of using the same cars next week, but switching divisions with them. Both cars are a dream to race and both divs should get a chance to drive them. We can use the other new track. If you don't like it.....send your complaints to 1-800-328-7448.

Well, I don't have the afttention span to dial all those numbers, so I'll lodge my complaint here: That's all fine, and I'll drive whatever you put in front of me, but I don't know why we're wasting time with these new-fangled things when there's a whole bunch of great classic stuff. I really enjoyed the F40 last night, and since it's an evolution of the GTO, that would be a cool combo - each division dives each car once then the third race is drivers' choice. I'm sure you're already planning a 250 party since we have two of them, and it would be cool to do a 512 party as well since we have three of them now.
OK, it was more of a suggestion than a complaint, and I realize after two weeks of pasta, no matter how much you love it, we may want something else for a while.

@aerolite - super sorry to hear that things are more 'complex' in your healing process. A small consolation, but at least your right foot is still intact for the throttle pedal. Our thoughts are with you amigo - hang in there - also really happy to have yo attending the races - it means a lot to us!

@Gr8_Lakes You hang in there as well Jeff, keeping our fingers crossed for ya.

That metal floor plate is pretty cool - could have used that in my Subaru - wore a hole in the matt and the carpet below! Maybe once Hurrican season is done I'll take some of the plywood I bought and make a rig so I can keep up with the BoBs.

@aerolite I hope your recovery speeds up and that you will be up and running soon. You have both a mental and physical challenge now. Be strong, We are all rooting for you.

@Mike Lobban , have you heard about "Remote Play"? Why can't you get that wanker in the hospital to download the PS Remote Play app on his laptop and give him a remote control. He can join the room as Broadcaster (remember there are two spots available that doesn't count against the 16 drivers) and be part of the live action and hear and see everything as it happens. You may have to access his house to sync the laptop/ps4 and the app, but you can surely do that for an old friend. (EDIT: No need to sync. Download app, connect ps4 remote control through usb, press PS button, sign in to PS Account. As long as the PS4 is on Stand-by then it will find it. Wifi connection should be strong though)

Maybe @Gr8_Lakes can join in one of those spots as well. You may not be able to drive, but you can be part of the fun without taking a driver's spot away. Wish you well in your recovery and rehab process as well.

My spot is open. Working nights again.

@ Aero- You'll prove them wrong. Keep you spirit high and keep pushing yourself.

@ GR8- Hope you get your surgery soon. My dad had his lowerer lumbar fused together when he was in his 40's. 3 car accidents in one year going to work. All of the rear collision on his car. Messed his back up bad. After surgery he was a new man.

Also, I will be streaming for the first time tonight so we shall see how it goes.

I know you'll amaze them Steve, you have so far.

Peeked in on the races a few times tonight. Looked like fun throwing the Ferraris around Mugello. Both cars looked pretty neutrally balanced, but not glued to the track. Recipe for fun if you ask me.

Couldn't spend too much time watching because Junior and I watch Family Guy on Monday nights. My wife's just flat out pissed that I've introduced him to the show at ten years old. My penance: I have to pause the show and thoroughly explain all the jokes that he doesn't understand. He's matured quite a bit in the past few months. My rule: he's not allowed to tell anyone at school that I let him watch - like that'll happen.

Steve, I'm sorry to hear about your nerve damage. After just undergoing the EMG testing myself, I know how relieved I was to hear that all the numbness and tingling in my legs is from nerve impingement and not damage or disease.
My father's got drop foot as a side effect from lumbar back surgery. I think his surgeon was reckless and damaged nerves during surgery - this is why I'm insistent on a well reviewed neurosurgeon versus any orthopedic surgeon. Still, my old man hasn't been too inconvenienced by the drop foot, and he says it was worth trading for the daily pain he had in his back. I too stand the risk of getting it - it's one of the most common side effects of lumbar surgery. We're all going to be rooting for you to surprise the Docs. by wiggling them piggies and getting good function restored. Hell, you've already surprised us all with your determination and recovery. Considering the damage you've sustained, I think your kicking a$$ personally. We're going to pull through this crap together my friend!

On a side note, I saw my family physician just this morning. He's so irritated that I have to wait so long for surgery he's referring me to another surgeon for a second opinion and contacting my current surgeon to try to impose some influence in urgency. Feels good to have someone advocating for me for once.

Mike told me I was missing out on a good night.. but I’m pretty sure you guys, missed out on a better night.
Safe to say I am crippled.

As much as I don't want to, I may be moving up. Again. Woe is me, because I suck trying to keep up with the better drivers.
Hey Bear, now that you are back in B.........Lol

It was fun playing with you last race, I was hoping to push you into a mistake.....and I did.
I'm still thinking about next week.....if I move up it'll mean me driving the same car as this week, which is ok, but, we have all this variety of cars to pick from.
Hey GTLayaboutman, if you are sure to be there, I'll set up for the 250's maybe.
Sorry Aeroscoreboy, I forgot to scroll down for the last race....duh is me. I was too busy basking in my Baaaawesomness.

I think guys like you, Bear and I should be together regardless of what group it is. We seem to have similar pace. And I’m not sure any of us could keep up with the top tier A guys. But I’ll go run my own 🤬 league.

Yes, I am sure to be there next Monday as I am night shift - 250s sound great. Last night was a great combo, sorry I missed it - would love to see it revisited again with swapped cars.

Sorry guys, but I can't post the results until somebody can let me know who the last three finishers in group B were in race 3. You can thank Lobicantscrollban. (Edit:got it now)
Sure has been a lot of whining going on the last couple of weeks. When you're just sitting back and listening it is so much more prevalent, if only I had a good editing software! And all this talk about moving up and down, and then moving during a race night, I dunno, Lobasoft needs his whip sharpened up a bit!
So you guys want moving, then moving you will get, I'll update my numbers spreadsheet to see exactly where you fall and a moving you will go! Or we could just kick out all the faster guys and go back to our original plan of one midpack paced group :p
Yup, I'm cranky today, 12 weeks sitting in a hospital room will do that too you :grumpy:
