Ok I'm curious now as to how the wife ended up sitting on your chest. Spill the beans.

And Gr8, great to hear you and Stevo getting back on the track, albeit slowly but surely. It'll be great to race with you guys again. Plus for now I think I should be able to beat you two until so that's a win in my books.
I'm pretty sure he's referring to a heart attack with the elephant on the chest comment.

Yeah, I thought I was reasonably healthy, only 10lbs overweight, was thinking of cutting back on the smoking as I was getting winded easily. Little did I know it was because my main artery was 80% blocked from plaque caused by years of smoking. Well, a clot hit it and blocked it completely. I was very lucky I was only 2 blocks from the shop. Made it there and my wife could tell from my grey face and purple lips what was happening. Less than an hour later I was in the recovery room. Now 6 smoke free years later I have more wind but also more weight that I still need to shed. Two more days and I would have been in the mountains a lot further from a top notch hospital.
Things could have gone much differently.

Now that I'm off all meds and my mind has cleared up somewhat, I have been getting some item's up to date. One of them is the active driver list which I will start posting again each week, especially as the numbers are back up above 16. Report #4 has the main list.
Active drivers have priority and it's first come first serve if room gets full. I will back out tomorrow night if room gets full as I'm just going to try it out on controller.

Wow that's some scary **** with the heart bro. Thank God you were close as you said. Those things could go very bad very quickly. I once witnessed a guy having a heart attack. We both played squash (very fast racquet ball game for those not aware) at the time. He was an older guy (maybe late 40s-early 50s). If my memory serves me right he was the Nigerian Ambassador, very nice guy, so pleasant. He was on court, I was outside watching on. Of course I was a better player than he was. I was the club's squash whore.... Used to play every day, often including lunchtimes, afternoons into night. Super fit and agile.

Anyways, either as he was playing or having finished and seated on the chair just outside court there seemed some calamity. Next thing we knew what he was having was a heart attack right there right then. His eyes started to roll and he started to beat up. A crowd gathered. We felt so helpless as there was nothing much we could do (or those of us there at the time knew what to do) but to call the ambulance. He died right there in the chair. One of those things you never ever forget. As said, such a nice guy too.

Actually he had had heart surgery some time before. He joined the gym (it was a gym plus 2 squash courts) to do some light workouts I imagine and while watching us play squash he became interested and therefore started playing too. We were told his doctor gave him the go ahead. I don't know if the doctor was aware of how fast paced and erratic squash is but that is no kind of game to be playing with having had a heart condition and whatever.

Don’t know if you guys are familiar with SimPit reviews by Shaun Cole (I view them on youtube). In any case, check out his videos for whatever gear you have or might be interested in getting. His reviews are really informative.

OMG guys, I did the unthinkable :D
I bought GTSport!
For 30 bucks you can't go wrong, right?:p
You fool!
I would have sold you my copy for $10. Although it would have taken me a week to clear the dust off of it.
Not that it's horrible... I just never play it.

I'm glad it went well for you Bear - thankful that you are ok. The majority of people that we transport at work are cardiac issues - absolutely makes me want to tell everybody to stop smoking and have somewhat of a decent diet. My mom wouldn't listen and it did her in.

Like I've been saying for years, Granturismo is not a racing game. It's a car game where you can also race... eventually. And that's their secret to sell millions. Unlike project cars, GT offers a neverending menu of petrolheads and car fanatics cookies and goodies like no one else attracting all sorts of car lovers including some race fans and I say "some" because after one hour browsing on line rooms all I found was "drift", "cruising" and "show your cars" rooms. "Racing" rooms, just a few with 3 or 4 people there.
And that's where I am. I don't give a damn about fancy helmets, colorful racing suits or chrome golden rims, I want to find that half second to catch Sgeti :p

Well put! I just can't tear myself away from PCars to play GT anything anymore.

Quoting myself from another thread for your enjoyment. Mostly pictures, I know my audience!   :nervous:
December 1st marks the start of the Christmas season. I for one will celebrate.

I wonder what I should do with my day?
Mow leaves? Work outside since it’s unseasonably warm? What do you think I should do?

G29 setup (before).
Fanatec setup ( after).
Ya. ya, I’ll only hear about the nice cabby beads! My posterior needs air flow. The dimples do show on me for some time due to driving without pants. (Come on, I’m not the only one. Admit it. It’ll be our secret).

Yea been following him for a while. Sim racing garage is a good one to. My fav as of late is the d box full motion rig he bought for 17 grand.

Sorry fellas, I’m elbow deep in a motor I have to fix before tomorrow. I might miss the first race. Hopefully if all works out I’ll be there just a little late. If someone needs in, just give them my spot. Thanks!

good racing tonight bros. Had a good time.
Pleasure to meet the new guys that have joined. Had some real close and respectable racing with @Hanable and @bigtimedave . I missed the lounge, and loved being back. Gotta' say, the ol' bossman didn't do too bad on the thumb-sticks! And @SAMHAIN85 , I'm sure you can only imagine where the above video commentary came from with Steve and I back racing. We were referred to as the Special Olympians . Absolutely hilarious when done in proper form. Which, you know, is always our brand .

:gtpflag: Results :gtpflag:

Well that was an interesting night trying to figure out both of those cars. We'll have to run Fuji in the snow next time.
I'm happy to have beaten my "special olympian" partner by one point :D The worst thing I find with the controller, (not that's there's anything good about it), is the braking, and trying to get the car back under control once it starts to go. Oh well, it still beats not racing at all. And David, where were you last night, I thought you were all ready to hand me and GR8 a whoop'in!

Congrats to @The__Camel, this weeks "Mr. Awesome" for the Group A win
Congrats to @potvinsuks, this weeks "Mr. Baawesome" for the Group B win

Congratulations pots and camel

Thanks for the race guys. @aerolite hasnt missed a step, even on controller. I had nothing for him. Sorry I left without saying thanks, hard to get a word in with a full room.
Ditto. Welcome back aero! No clue how you finished 1 spot down from Mike on a controller. He’ll never live it down if you shellac him. Use that leverage to get his help to drag your rig to the main space so he’s not living with that threat for the next few weeks.

Sorry, I missed BCing the first race which had the best 4 car battle till the end.
Poor Alex, only 4th place, and he wants to cum back to B, get gooder bro....bwaaaaaa.
Bear, we were like a tongue stuck to a fence post all night. Really good back and forth.
It was sure nice to have AeroCheeze and GR8Puddles back from injury reserve, we missed you guys......with every arrow in the quiver. No, really, I frikn missed every time.
Rob Brown, how much are you willing to spend to keep me from telling on you? Nice setup Man.
Pots pulls out the Baaawesome award this week, well done, I'll let Denis know.

Whadda ya all think...after all the bitching and moaning from some (Alex, cough cough), of the A guys about the difficulty of the chosen cars, should we give them a little girly car for next week? Something easy? Too bad we don't have a Wet Panty Barbie car . I hear crying towels are on sale at target. They were made for liberal tears from the worn out hands of little Uuga Bugela, a child slave worker from Bilibongastan, but I'm sure they would work for you. BTW, lol.

Just wanted to say that I'm super stoked to be the BAAAAAWESSSSSOME Champ for this week :gtpflag:.

However, we have to give it up for the entire 'B' Class as the racing was as good as can be, and that was for all 3 races. If felt like it was neck n neck between Mikee, RK, Bear, Dave and myself througout it all. Definitely was a night that I won't be forgetting for a while for sure :).

Steve, I gotta give you credit for being able to walk right into the paddock in your situation. Rusty and all with a DS4 in hand and you were still able to stay with the flow bud 👍👍. Definitely the Driver of the Day in my book.

I think I missed a few to be sure :D
Didn't you mean, "hard to get a word in with all that whining coming from the A's" :mischievous: :ouch: :p

Shellacing is done!
Moving my rig is more involved than a lot of you realize, as it's in my man cave which is tucked away in the back of my shop. We only have a crawlspace in the house as well so that leaves just our living room and even I don't want my rig sitting in here, our house is small. I think just a few more weeks from now I should be able to get myself a) out to the shop, and b) into my rig, so after all this time, it's really not that much longer.

Are you trying to suck up to Daddy! (in reference to Sgeti's "daddy's back" comment, lol) Seriously, thank you Mr. Baawesome!
Glad to hear you guys had a great night of racing between you, it sure sounded close.

Yep, mike you and I were like magnets. The first race was the closest tho.
Alex...I did my best to get you into b group...you really should have retold your story when I cued up the violin.
It coulda made all the difference. But...perhaps it was for the best... Steve and Jeff were doing good after such a long break...what if you had dropped back to b and gotten beat by the special olympians?....

.....And David, where were you last night, I thought you were all ready to hand me and GR8 a whoop'in!
With that stellar performance from you albeit with a controller I might have to take back that whooping promise yes.
I'm not able to be back yet. I had PM'ed you and Mike about 2 weeks ago to let you know my G29 when on the bum and had since ordered.......Wait for it....Wait for it....(((((DRUMROLL))))).....A Fanatec. Yes....The very CSL Elite for PS4 (Just the Starter Kit bundle to start off with though. Couldn't afford the Loadcell brake upgrade just yet).

It's been delivered today to my freight forwarders in Miami so I expect to have it shipped from there and delivered to me in Trinidad in about 2-3 days WOOT WOOT!!!

Then I have to tote it to someone who has a Windows PC to update Driver and Firmware etc. Bummer it can't be done via a Mac.
Then soon's I get a chance I gotta practice with corner lines off before I get comfortable enough to rejoin. Only thing is by then you might be an alien with the controller.
