Welcome to our enduance series, the

'00 RGT Endurance Cup!

Overview
This event features the Porsche 911, err, '00 RUF RGT; a fabulously handling car with tremendous speed. Drivers are allowed to tune their RGT up to a maximum of 463HP & 1200kg on Sport Soft tires.
The lobby will open 30-45 minutes before the green flag falls for Open Practice. Grid is set to Fastest First; there is no Qualifying. There will be 10 races to make 1 "season". All but 2 races are 1 hour in length. Race 5 & 10 are 2 hours.
The current list of circuits/tracks you will be racing on is a "live" list; meaning it can change by adding or removing circuits. Time & weather will sometimes be a variable in the race. Weather settings will be in the range of 0 - 60: It may or may not rain!

Rules
Strict adherence to the OLR is required. We highly recommend you read the it thoroughly
and understand its key components: Rules 01, 05-12, 14, 15, & 17. Throughout the OLR you will notice bold text to emphasize key points. You will also find green text that is used as addendums to the OLR added by S.T.a.R. Racing League. If a Post Race Review (PRR) is filed, it will be reviewed and penalties assessed. Nearly all penalties are -1 point.
NOTE: Please follow OLR 17 for filing a PRR if you feel a driver violated any OLR rules.

The Good Racecraft Guide
For further details on exemplary racecraft I have included a link to this document written by VBR. It explains some very key and clear details regarding Defending & Attacking, Overtaking & Being Overtaken, and Drafting. The Good Racecraft Guide also discusses decision making during a race. The article also includes further links to good racecraft.
After reading this document, you will have a far better understanding of what is expected of you as a driver here at S.T.a.R. This league was founded on the principle of clean, respectful, racing.

Just a heads up.. this is draqua_fresh.. however when I tried posting a survey to figure out when people were available to race for the starts RGT Cup on this thread and the main stars thread.. i got banned for "spam" so just so you guys know this series is gonna start early March tentatively. And ill try to post the survey again.. but I don't really want to get banned so I gave the link to Coach and he might post it soon.

I posted a new thread under Site Suport since I can't find anything on the subject. I also mentioned the ban. When I get a valid reply I will update everyone. As of now, is 1st week of March a good tentative date?

i think first weekend of march would be just fine.. I am going to start holding test and tunes for the series shortly.. if you see S.T.a.R. ENDURO CUP - '00 RGT as the room title.. hop in if you want to get a feel for the series.. and another thing.. you should friend request (psn: draqua_fresh) if you want to see the room.. as I will have it on friends only for the time being.

This is a SURVEY for those who are interested in participating in the Enduro RGT Cup. This will peg down an official time for the races and we can begin with practicing and preseason tomfoolery. Also another rather important step would be to friend (psn: draqua_fresh) so that you have access to the room as it will be friends only to reduce lag of people coming and going. I have also cleaned out my psn friends list so I should have enough room now.

I'll post in OP

RUF Endurance Cup starts a week from Friday, so you should get your cars ready and at least get some practice laps in before the flag fly's. From what I gather we have 8 or so racers who are going to or at least want to race. So lets have a good season everybody. Ill be hosting Practice lobbies On Saturday and Tuesday at the race time so come by if you want to get some tuning in. Room will be friends only so be sure to friend (draqua_fresh) on psn to get access to the room.

Hey, do I have to give you another TT? I'll be able to join this series this week for the opening race day.

Hey Hawksfan! Just some quick formalities and you will be ready to race. You need to submit a car color combo for body and wheels and then send it to @BustedFoSho who will hook you up in the league which allows you to run the other races we have as well. You will also need to friend @draqua_fresh on psn to get access to the room as it will be a friends only race to limit the lag. Other than that we have a practice/tune lobby up on Tuesday at race time
(that's Wednesday at about 3 in Melbourne I think) and the first race is on Friday for the states but Saturday for you unless I'm horribly wrong, but hopefully not. see you race day!!

OK racers. I know Ive picked some pretty rough tracks for the season so exercising caution and patience will pay dividends in you point performance for the season.

Here is a map of Road Daytona. Now I cannot stress enough that going 2 wide on most of the infield will be a bad idea in general. Corners 1,4 and "the bus stop' are the biggest trouble spots and I imagine most of the incidents (if there are any) will happen there.

In Corner 1 be wary of people breaking a bit earlier than some, after a few laps tires will start to become worn and in an RR RUF RGT it will upset the rear of the car. It is also generally not wise to try and late break up the inside on turn 1, you will probably crash.

Turn 4 is the second area where you should exercise a bit of caution, as the sun sets the glare will blind you and obscure the turn in point for the corner and at night the corner and turn in point are not lit up like the rest of the corners on the circuit. It will be easy for you to misjudge the corner under these circumstances.

and Finally the Bus Stop, DO NOT GO 2 WIDE IN THE BUS STOP!! you will probably crash. Additionally breaking for the bus stop is going to be interesting as these cars go very fast down the back straight but do not have the race car breaks that some are used to, trying to go up the inside on breaking is a bad idea, you will probably crash.

and finally for the start of the race since it will be a grid on the banking.. please try and be considerate of others on the track, you will not win the race on the grid or the first corner or the first lap. It is an endurance race for a reason. Also remember heavy damage is on so if you have damage do your best to say off the racing line on the infield and on stay on the apron while on the oval

so on that note.. have a good race, know you line, don't be reckless and exercise caution and patience during the race.

Race day is March 7th at 22:00 Est and there will be a practice and tuning lobby up at the same time on Tuesday

As far as tuning, what can we do? Just add power to 463HP and reduce weight to 1200kg? No other tuning allowed?

you can tune what ever you what.. if the car gets into the race.. its legal, bar the specifics like 463hp and 1200kg on SS tires (how you get there though is up to you)

the race might start later than expected as work was unexpectedly heavy today.. and im stuck in traffic.. if coach or somebody wants to set up the room.. ill keep updating from rush hour :(
