Is Grim gone, or just passing the reign's to you Josh?
Cheers,
Aero

Grim became very disinterested in Project Cars. Admittedly, it's been quite buggy, but it's getting better. Somebody had to take over otherwise it was going to die. Fortunately, the timing was good because it was shortly after the game got the "no tuning" option. I wouldn't have gotten involved in a full tuning series. I'll save that for real life racing. :) I look forward to seeing you on track Aero. 👍

I'm hoping "Cyber Monday" is to blame for my current connection issues, cuz I can't do diddly squat at the moment. Grrr...

Any chance of SNAIL on Xbox with Forza 6 or pCars?

Doubtful. I only say that because the lineup for weekly series' is close to full. SNAIL typically prefers to limit to one santioned event per day of the week. At the moment, the only day without a sanctioned event is Friday. I'm sure there may be some SNAIL members who also game on Xbox, but due to the fact that the majority of us stem from our time with Gran Turismo, Sony tends to be the default platform. That's not to say SNAIL would never have a series on XBox. SNAIL brass is pretty open to other opportunities to formulate good clean racing. I think if the right person had the right idea, it could be feasible.

I'm having major connection issues all of a sudden, so that's a no go for me tonight. :( boooo....
I just got home so I haven't even tried to get on yet,I'll see what happens,PSN is doing maintenance starting at 11pm eastern time anyway so won't be on long anyway

Good morning gentlemen :)

It is race day! The club could use little help here for those just in case scenarios. I am looking for one or two volunteers for this evenings events.
  1. I'm still not completely confident in my connection so I would prefer not to be host today. If somebody with a reliable connection would be willing to step up and host that would be fantastic.
    • Setup Lobby exactly as stated in the OP regarding general specifications and restrictions
    • Set laps and weather as stated in Schedule
    • Open Lobby and send invites to all active drivers by 8:45pm EST (other drivers in room can invite if host is short on "friends")
  2. Backup Scorekeeper. Just in case I get DC'd I will need somebody to take note of who is on the pole for the first race and the finishing order of both races.
As discussed recently, we will attempt a reverse grid start for the 2nd race tonight. Pasted below shall be the procedure for this restart. This is copied from my PKARTS procedure. @Cardahs and I have done this on multiple occasions and it seems to work well.

Starting Procedures
    • Grids for all races 2 & 3 will be manually sorted. Qualifying will determine the order of PF1 and raceing will commence upon game iniated start. The lineup for PF2 and the Final shall determined by the finishing order of their respective previous race. The first lap (game initiated) of These races will be treated as a parade lap. Competitors are to use this lap to reorder themselves and prepare to re-grid. The field shall use the distance from the starting grid up until the 1st turn to resort. There shall be absolutely no passing (except for karts failing to meet minimum speed) after T1 during the parade lap and all competitors shall respect a speed limit of 60mph (~95kph) and a minimum speed of 40mph (~64kph). Upon return to the grid, all competitors shall stop in their respective grid boxes to await race start.
    • All competitors are expected to keep up during the parade lap. Any excessive stretching of the field by a slow kart may result in a post-race time penalty.
    • When all competitors have positioned themselves in their proper grid boxes the race director will give the go ahead to begin the race by stating “Pole sitter, on your go”. The beginning of the race will be determined by the first movement of the lead kart within five seconds of the race director’s instruction.
    • The leader shall start the race once the entire field has cleared the final turn at parade lap speed. Please, no passing before the start/finish line however.
That's about it for now fellas. Have a good day and I hope to see many of you tonight :)

Gosh Lessen, what skins are available? :D
I'm glad to see some good old snailers showing up around here. Come in guys, hop aboard and let's do some racing.

I never had problems with internet connection so I'll open the room.
I would like to ask who ever doesn't have me on the friends list to send me a FR till 8.30 tonight.

@Schmiggz Thanks! And the assigned liveries list is in post #3. As far as what is still available, you're on your own on that one. :)

liveries aren't that big of a deal anyways. As much as it would be nice for everybody to have a consistent look, it's just not feasible once we start to include car changes more often. At that point, posting a livery/color choice becomes more an act of courtesy. In not gonna get all worked up if there's a dupe here or there.

I got on last night for the first time in a couple weeks to find my livery and drive the two tracks for tonight. But I ended up poking around and driving a couple laps on several cars I had never tried.

Man this game is sooo good. I drove a few Ruf cars, a couple of the new Lotus cars, the Audi LMS and a few others. This game manages to capture the sounds and experiences so well. And each car has it's own personality. I tried one of the older open wheel Lotus with open engine bay, chrome drive shafts and all the suspension bits out on the open...you can really see everything working and moving over bumps, during braking/accel etc. The mechanical noises while driving are all there.

What a major improvement over the extremely vanilla GT franchise experience.

Have a look here. The last few posts in that thread show that this is a viable option to get older wheels working with the PS4. My parts to make up that emulator are on order and should be here in a couple of week. I'll post back on my results.

And yes boys... I'm watching... ;)
What exactly are you watching? Watching yourself missing all the action? I know you have a PS4...get your ass in here.

Yes I totally agree,GT better step their program way up if their gonna try to compete with Pcars

Lol, i said that thousends of times. GT6 is pure arcade without a pinch of reality.
I've told all my friends in the league on GT to hurry up and get on PS4 and get this, the difference is unbelievable, also I'll be on shortly to send you a FR

Finally got the PS4 last night and fired up project cars. I know one thing is for sure.... I will not be playing until I get the wheel situation sorted. I may as well be trying to control the car with 10 thumbs. @Lessen and anyone else who plays with a controller, no clue how you guys do it.

What wheel do you have? I'd say turn FFB up and calibrate to a certain degree. That's about it, this is default so the other wheel setting don't apply.

G27. Currently waiting on parts to put together an emulator so the G27 and the PS4 can play nice with one another.

Not sure how those calibrate, but someone does. Hope you and SGETI get your wheels up and running. See you guys soon we all hope.

@nmcp1 I hope you realize WHEN you get this adapter made and WORKING, you will be needing to make a few more for the non-tech people in this room, me included.
