pretty cool. Good thing they're slow. Driving high speed rc's from drivers view would be absurdly difficult.

@nmcp1 I hope you realize WHEN you get this adapter made and WORKING, you will be needing to make a few more for the non-tech people in this room, me included.
Ordering my parts in the morning, going to give it a try as well, it's cheap enough to give it a shot. If it works for both me and Nuno, then I might look at making a run of them if no one else is when the time comes.

Good morning gentlemen :)

I
Starting Procedures
    • The first lap (game initiated) of These races will be treated as a parade lap. Competitors are to use this lap to reorder themselves and prepare to re-grid. The field shall use the distance from the starting grid up until the 1st turn to resort. There shall be absolutely no passing (except for karts failing to meet minimum speed) after T1 during the parade lap and all competitors shall respect a speed limit of 60mph (~95kph) and a minimum speed of 40mph (~64kph). Upon return to the grid, all competitors shall stop in their respective grid boxes to await race start.
    • All competitors are expected to keep up during the parade lap. Any excessive stretching of the field by a slow kart may result in a post-race time penalty.
    • The leader shall start the race once the entire field has cleared the final turn at parade lap speed. Please, no passing before the start/finish line however.
That's about it for now fellas. Have a good day and I hope to see many of you tonight :)

@Lessen
Just so we are all Clear - How does the leader (Pole sitter or the last place guy who is now leader) start once we are all lined back up in our new starting box? Say "GO" via voice chat or....3.....2....1...GO? Doesnt say above :p

Yeah, my bad. That probably wasn't clear enough. I realized I had to edit my copy because we don't do grid starts in this series. So basically, we should all be rolling through the final turn on the "parade lap" at the noted pace speed (2 abreast, with odd numbered positions to the inside), when the leader sees on his map (assuming everybody has the map enabled) that the full field has completely cleared the turn, he may go. The rest of the field is basically waiting for the pole sitter to go green.

Personally, I think manual grid starts would be more fun (that's what Cardahs and I are doing in PKARTS), but we realized that some tracks do not have grid boxes marked on the track (Laguna Seca for instance). So since I'm trying to get this thing as well oiled as possible, rolling starts will eliminate that inconsistancy.

Hi guys, I hate to be the one but, where do I go in PC to race tonight? Online obviously, but is there a special room or is it in the public rooms?

Do we set the room with pit stop mandatory? No reference on page 1.

No sir, real tire wear.

Host, or somebody else wil send you an invite. I don't know how familiar you are with that, but it'll be under notifications on the main PS4 menu.

We had some really fantastic battles tonight. I hope to see @gtr3123 on track again next week as well as @Mike Lobban once he gets a little more comfortable with the game. That's some good stuff tonight guys. :) Congrats to the winners and huge thanks for everybody being patient. Thanks again to @Schmiggz for hosting. I haven't had connection problems all night so that's a big positive for me personally.

...and the results. :) Results will also be posted at the top of thread as well.

Hey guys, I am going to like this series. I am very comfortable with the game, I think I will fare well. My problem last night was a button push that retired me right after qualifying. Duh, I didn't want o mess up anyones night with my newbyness till I get my poo poo kaka together. Next week for sure.

Impossible to drive one of my 1/8 Buggies from bumper view. Definitely no way a monitor could convey the information well enough.

Regarding your T300 RS.

We would like to inform you that our colleagues from the repair center are experiencing a large backlog lately.

We checked the status of your RMA and, unfortunately, they haven't had the chance to inspect the wheel base that you sent.

Please get back to us at the beginning of next week so we can provide you with more details.

We are very sorry for any inconveniences caused.
Just received an answer from Thrustmaster,

I started the process on 11/03. Took them 4 days just to send A RMA label. They have had my wheel since 11/10. My return to racing next week does look promising.

Gentlemen,

Over the course of the past couple weeks I've been working to become familiar with all the data that Grim has provided to me, and to learn to utilize these files and other services to make ongoing operations of the series easier such that I may be able to clearly communicate the week to week changes without taking up a ridiculous amount of my personal time. It is no secret that I would like to see more variety in this series so I've settled on the following procedure. The general format of the series is to remain unchanged, this is strictly concerning how conclusions are to be met concerning what and where we race. Still, this is a big change to what is a young club and I am confident we'll all find the future of WRRC to be entertaining, challenging and most of all, fun.

New Process to go into effect Jan. 2016 (Season 6)

Car selection structure:

  • Each week, four cars will be offered to be voted upon to replace one of the two currently raced cars.
  • These 4 cars will be halved into a pair of choices with 2 options each.
  • Each eligible driver may vote to drop either current car #1 or current car #2, and replace with one of two available and applicable options.
    • drop Current Car #1
      • replace with Option A or Option B
  • or
    • drop Current Car #2
      • replace with Option C or Option D
  • If a single car is raced in 4 consecutive events without being dropped, it shall be subject to a mandatory drop.
    • All eligible drivers may vote for its replacement according to standard procedures
    • All eligible drivers may also vote to drop and replace the other car in the lineup if they so choose
    • This shall be the only circumstance that a driver may vote twice
Track selection structure:
    • Each of the four cars offered up for vote will be accompanied by six racetracks. These tracks may differ between new car options.
    • Each eligible voting driver shall rank (and therefor vote) for ONLY 4 of the six available tracks assigned to their chosen replacement car. Drivers may rank these six tracks according to their personal preference, with a "4" being given to the drivers' most preferred track and a "1" being assigned to the drivers' least preferred track. Also, the two remaining un-ranked tracks shall each be assigned a "No Vote A" or "No Vote B".

Example

Vote%20example%20pg2_zpsitga6rpt.jpg

Vote%20example%20pg3_zpsgkvrfv4a.jpg

Car Vote count procedure:
  • A current car drop MUST win by majority vote. A tie will result in no car replacement for the upcoming weeks event.
  • The new car shall be that which receives more votes than it's pairing counterpart. (ie. Option B wins over Option A if Car #1 wins the drop, even if Option D received more overall car votes than Option B). In lamens terms, the drop gets precedence over the replacement.
  • Should there be a tie of car votes within the winning drop, the first tie-breaker shall be the greater total number of participation points accompanied by the car votes each car received. (ie. Three drivers with 4 completed races each in the current season vote for Car B. Car B is then accompanied by 12 participation points.)
  • Should the participation points be tied, the preference shall be given to the involved driver (and his/her vote) who is highest in the current season's points standings.
Track Vote count procedure:
  • The 4 winning tracks to accompany the new car shall be raced 1 each over the next four events or until the car is voted off the lineup. Their order shall be according to voted rankings, highest to lowest. Categories for order and tie-breakers are as follows...
    • Average Rank per Vote (sum of rankings/total number of votes - includes all "No Votes")
    • Quantity of Ranked Votes (sum of rankings given - does not include "No Votes")
    • Highest Rank given
    • 2nd Highest Rank given
    • Should two or more tracks still be tied, the preference shall be given to the involved driver (and his/her vote) who is highest in the current season's points standings.
Voting Details:
  • All car/track combination voting shall be done via the applicable Google Form survey ONLY. Any communications outside of this format shall not be honored.
  • Voting options and survey shall be posted and open for reception each Wednesday. Voting shall close Fridays at Midnight EST. (Votes are Timestamped)
  • Eligible drivers are to submit ONLY 1 vote. Any second votes received shall not be honored.
Season Standings and Voting Results EXAMPLE:
  • Drop
    • Car #1
  • New Car
    • Option A
  • Tracks and order
    • A5
    • A6
    • A3
    • A1

Need just a little clarification. Currently we have only one car option per race. The Audi this season. As I read it we will be having two types of cars in each race. Using the example above next season we would have either the Audi or Aston, AND either the Ford or Lotus.

Right. It's written with respect to the fact that the procedure would already in place. For the beginning of Season 6 everybody will be voting twice (as if the Audi has run its course of 4 events). So.. consider that the Audi is the mandatory drop and needs to be replaced, then we'll vote for a second car as well. After that, it'll be one or the other unless a car makes it 4 consecutie events, in which case everybody will have the option to vote twice. I hope that helps. :)

That really sucks! You just made up my mind, if building this adapter doesn't work out, I'm getting the G29.
I hope they get it done for you soon. Wonder why they have such a backlog, does that mean they have many units back for repairs!

I posted this over at tjger endurance racing league
But I forgot to mention how I also love the time progression aspect too. Love a race when it starts out in the day and finishes in the dark, especially at a circuit that has track lighting, it's super cool to me.

Ok, apparently it's a shut down... :irked:

Schmiggz I already have, once in here and over at the SNAIL World Road Racing Challenge
We had one heck of a race, 30 laps at Nurburgring GP. And for anyone else please feel free to sign up

look for the US GT3 league. We had 10 racers and all very clean drivers. Host won't add weather until next season, which sucks in my opinion. But oh well as long as it's good clean racing.

I pretty disappointed with this decision that Tjger has made, but can understand. Some people aren't ready for endurance racing and probably shouldn't of signed up to race. Just go play your no damage, no tire ware, no weather, arcade 5 lap crash fest somewhere else (open lobby).

Since this game has all the simulation one could ask for, I for one love
Heavy Damage
Mechanical Failures
Tire Ware on fast
Weather Aspects implemented into the race
30+ laps
Pit Stops
And anything else that can create a simulated race.

Please come join us on Wednesday nights @MRTeam, and just think, you won't have to do any of the hosting stuff, adding points, finishing orders and such. Someone else is taking care of it

I told you!

I see that pop up on Facebook pretty regularly. It's very true, even for those that don't REALLY race. Majority of my time is spent with racing on my mind. My plans to start karting IRL, plans for my sim room, my rc race cars, next week's combos.... Always.

So while we're on the karting subject...run me through a good way to possibly get my 10yr old son into it. Costs, rigs to get, etc. Low budget.

I took him to an indoor carting place here for his birthday with those electric carts. He had never driven one before and got fastest time of the day in the group which included some kids who had driven multiple times. Guess he's more like his dad every passing day :)

For a kid I would probably find a solid used chassis ( I will probably do this for my daughter because I'm certain she will have a strong desire to follow me into this). You could find a used kid kart for well under 2k.

https://cometkartsales.com/Used-Karts-New-Closeout-Karts-Racing/

Then there's safety gear. Suit, helmet, collar, gloves, shoes. Rib vests typically aren't mandatory, but a good idea. I have about $1000 wrapped up in those items purchased new. But there's plenty of money to be saved there. I could have spent far less on a helmet, but I found one that looks good with my suit so I went with it. Suit too... I didn't go top of the line, but there's cheaper out there.

Yeah, I've read enough that this seems like a no brainer. Safety has to be #1. I spent a little more on my collar too just because I liked the fact that it's harnessed around the torso, so it doesn't shift around much at all. I ran into somebody who spun out in my very first outing this year and the neck stiffness even with all my equipment on was evident as soon as I got out of the kart. You hit something in a kart and you feel it quite directly.
