Drivers,

I have to work tomorrow so voting results and schedule will be posted quite a bit later than usual. Just an FYI.

I have to say, You're voting program is super easy and awesome.

Thanks... maybe? :)

Do I sense some sarcasm there?

Do you find the form difficult to use? I tried to make the form as straightforward as possible and oraganised such that it would be virtually impossible for somebody to screw up (ie. double vote, missing info etc.)

Works for me, I just wish there were more cars to choose from week to week, but alas, the boss shot me down before and will again.
It was cool to watch lessons broadcast. Got a glimpse of what the voice looks like......I was watching the intensity in his face while racing. Stone cold look at the screen with a controller in his hands, his body hardly moves.

Did I see a post from the DesertChicken? Naw, seeing things.

I'm so afraid this guy will turn this thread into the same circus he did on the JL blower snail's one. I hope Lessen cut it off or I'll come here exclusively to check out the combos.

No, I was serious.

The instructions were a little tedious, but once I clicked on the link to vote I was surprised by how easy it was.👍

Just as I hope that everybody realizes their role, I must remain conscious of mine. I am not a GTP moderator. I imagine because this thread is increasingly active and is always at the top of this forum, it gets a reasonable review.

Just sayin'...

@Lessen, the form is easy to use. I just haven't figured out how the tracks are implemented yet. I'll get it figured out soon enough. No worries.

I'll try to explain...

Obviously since the tracks are specific to the chosen car, the only track vote rankings that are used for formulating are those that came from the members who voted for THAT car.

The order is first determined according to the overall rank of each track's average voted rank. [yeah, I know... Bear with me for a minute]. Say you and I and two others vote for the same winning car. If I ranked Monza at a 3, you ranked Monza at a 2, driver X ranked Monza at a 4 and driver Y gives Monza a "no vote", Monza receives an average rank of 2.25. (3+2+4+0)/4 (# of voters for that car). Each of the six tracks offered for the winning car receives this calculation. The order for the schedule is the top 4 out of the six tracks, starting at the highest score. When there is a tie in the score between 2 or more tracks, the other categories listed are used as tie breakers between the tied tracks to determine their priority on the schedule. The first tie-breaker is "quantity of ranked votes". That's pretty much what it sounds like... how many voters DIDN'T give that track a "no vote". If that is also tied between tracks, then the next tie-breaker is "highest rank", then "2nd highest rank". It is not too uncommon that I need to look at highest rank to determine proper order. I think maybe only once or twice I've needed to go to 2nd highest rank to fill out a car's 4 week stint appropriately.

I hope that helps. :)

That explains it very well. Thank you!

Ironically, the new schedule used every bit of the tie-breaking process and some... I think if we continue to grow I may need to change a couple of those tie-breaking processes due to simple mathematics. You'll see when I post it. Every piece of data used is disclosed in the results sheet. No funny business. :D

Drivers,

The polls have closed and the votes have been tallied. The Corvette C7.R has been replaced by the Mercdes-Benz SEL 6.8 AMG. The Merc's first race will be at Le Circuit Bugatti. Due to the fuel glitch that had a significant effect on last week's racing, I have made an executive decision to drop the Mclaren P1 from the lineup. Using the votes as a basis, it will be replaced by the KTM X-Bow R. It will be raced at Zolder.

Clarification: Due to a tie in both car votes AND participation points, the swing goes the current highest ranking driver's vote. @gtr3123 voted for the KTM so that's our car to replace the Mclaren.

You're doing a fantastic job running the Series, boss. Really top notch and it shows in the way the grids are growing.
