I just don't get it, seems pretty pointless to me.

0/0/0 cars have never been used before. So they have more value, because there's no engine or chassis wear on them. I'd rather have a 0/0/0 car than one from the UCD with 3,000 miles on it.

Funny thing is, race cars from the UCD have miles, but no wins on them. So what, was someone driving a Bentley Speed 8 to work or something?

Yeah I know what they are, I just think it's all a bit pointless considering they're in the game to be raced. Just my point of view.

0/0/0 cars can be driven longer before permanent engine wear kicks in. You can get more use out of them.

Plus, who doesn't like that new car smell? :dopey:

Some people who get them don't even use them, they're more like collectibles.

How clever of you. And my my, what a contribution.

Would you rather I had linked any of the other numerous topics about this exact which were swiftly locked with that thread in the Marketplace pointed to as the reason? Here's one, for example. The OP wanted to know why they were more valuable. That thread in the Marketplace explains why.

Your link didn't actually explain why there is a value in 0/0 cars. You just posted to a link saying that one will find references to such things because they are collectible.

"They are collectible because?" was left unanswered in your referenced post.

p.s. Though, yes, your point is taken; the OP could've searched and found numerous threads for the answer without asking the question again.

Because that is the answer to his question. The point of their popularity and demand is that they are more collectible. As for why that is the case, there is no specific answer to that because something being collectible is an intangible concept that differs from person to person. The answer you felt it fit to "+1" certainly isn't it, because many people collect 0/0/0 cars and never turn a wheel in them.

Collecting video game cars? LOL! I don't get it. To each their own I guess. It's like pet birds in cages -- birds were created to fly and be free, caging them is just wrong, and it's just my opinion. (Don't bother with the penguin or ostrich examples.) OP, I could not possibly agree with you any more than I already do.

No, there is a point to 0/0 cars. Not everyone collects them for that point. I do.

Since it is a non-zero set of users that collect 0/0 cars to use them before they lose power, it is a valid reason.

LoL

It does seem strange for a person to cherish a non-driven car so much that he would`nt drive it, in a driving game.
When I find something I want to own, my next move is to see if it was worth the wait.
I mean after I load it up with goodies.
Speaking of strange, the other day I was on-line and one guy was razing another because he had a carbon fiber hood, "What grown man puts CF on a car?" Answer: a grown man with nothing else to spend 20,000,000 credits on... cars/parts.

Some will see it as pointless while another see's it as something. It's something to collect! For some traders, 0/0/0 cars are gold, they're hard to come by and if you're a collector, it adds a nice touch to your collection.

I know some people say, "It's just a game", but some people look for ways to keep the game, hype.

Also, collecting them is the same as collecting anything else; stamps, coins, comic books etc. They buy them but never use them! That's where value grows (to traders, not everyone).

That's what happens when a game doesn't have much to offer, you find something else to do inside it.

Collecting is one aspect of the game, why else would they have so many cars, museum cards, tickets etc. It's not really looking for something to do, rather focusing mainly on one aspect of it. Some race, some collect, then you got the hybrids lol.

Edit, I'm a racer, not collector. I know a lot of people that collect though, just thought I might throw something in for them ;)

First of all, i lol'd at some of the comments, and at least Veyron Tony gets what I mean.

Didn't see this comment, glad you agree too haha

I think you missed the point. It wasn't "why put a CF hood on a car," it was "why put an unpainted CF hood on a car". Unpainted hoods are put on in the real world because they are cheaper. It became somewhat shabby chic.

On some cars the plain carbon hood does look quite nice, though.

It's been discussed ad nauseum. You get it, or you don't. Since there's a bunch of threads on this, and it's been answered, I'll be closing it.
