...featuring, of all people, Steve McQueen!

For those who haven't seen it: click here.

Why is watching commercials on my computer so much weirder than watching them on TV?

Anyways, nice ad I guess, although I expected a little more agressive driving from McQueen. A tire squeal perhaps? Oh well, he's getting old.

How did they do that?

It's the same concept as Ali jr(the girl) versus The Real Ali.

Great commercial! Not enough sound of the engine though.

Wow that was so cool, I wonder how they did that, but why a silver mustang? It should have been british racing green!

Thats a joke I hope, right??? He died like 25 years ago, Nov. 1980 actually, from lung cancer. So, I guess, in a sick and twisted way, he is getting old. But, not still around. That was just good compositing work from the ad agency.

Very true. If you watch the movie Bullit, you will see a lot of what you saw in the commercial. That had a great chase scene in it, best one i've seen with any mustang. If you look at the rear view mirror, it's a dead giveaway, because it's his face in it, just like in bullit.

It's funny, watching his movie as much as I have, I notice that in 1 chase scene him and the other car lose about 10 hubcaps in 1 chase. :sly: 👍

And how many times does he pass that same Volkswagen?!

:D

Yeah it was a charger. I don't know the year either. I think in top gear they said the had to keep on repairing/replacing the fastback he drove, but the charger was fine the whole time. Maany people credit bullit as having the first modern car chase.

It was a 68 Dodge Charger. The 68 Charger had circular tail lights, and the 69 had the long rectangle tail lights.

The 69 Charger is IMHO the best Charger ever. It's my dream to have one of these one day. But I think I'll stick to a good old Chevy (Chevelle, or even a Nova). Having a Mopar in France is way too expensive for me at the moment.
