The game will switch back to it's own BGM after you restart a race it seems. Has happened all night, and I hate GT5's BGM so this is quite annoying, especially when there's some annoying techno blasting.

Anyone else notice this?

EDIT: This issue is GONE if you de-select all the default GT5 Race BGM tracks in the Music Menu one-by-one .. after that, your personal Race BGM works (at least for me) ..

EDIT 2: Nevermind, the issue still seems to come back every once in awhile, but not as much as originally since I de-selected all the GT5 music. Still an obvious issue that I hope makes it into the next patch.

I havent had that problem. I restarted many times and havent had a problem. I have a Slim PS3 IDK if its different on the Fatty version.
 
I noticed this while grinding Indy. My GT3 soundtrack stopped playing and I was listening to GT5's soundtrack.
 
I had no issue with the custom race BGM (had it on since before update), but my Menu User BGM constantly reverted back to Lounge and Jazz.

I normally have BGM turned off but I leave it on in GT5 for one track. Lorn - Cherry Moon.

Could be the same bug, but it definitely happens to me. About 3 songs in a row last night I had to question my musical taste because I couldn't figure out which of my bands were playing until I realized it wasn't mine.

And I need all the motivation I can get to beat these seasonal events.
 
Having a similar issue. I typically use my BGM, but now when I go into the audio menu it won't even let me select my personal BGM. This is quite frustrating, I spent hours uploading specific music to the PS3 just to hear it while racing.
 
I got the BGM to work, only now it plays jazz during the races and blasts metal music in the menu. I really don't want to hear Devil Driver while I'm trying to pick my car, I want it during the race!
 
Ya I loaded up 30 hrs worth of music. I can listen to Deftones, Tool, Poison The Well and As I lay Dying on my Home Menu screen, but once I start a race it doesn't play.

I've made sure on multiple occasions that I had my personal BGM selected for Race Music and it still plays lame Jazz and Techno.
 
Okay another question for everyone - what category are you using for your Race BGM? For example, I switched the sorting in the XMB to "Genre" so I have all a particular genre of tracks shuffled.

How do you sort your BGM? And do you have it on Shuffle?
 
Are any of you using the same playlist for both? I have two playlists titled "Menu" and "Gran Turismo" maybe using the same playlist triggers this glitch.
 
Yep the Game just switched back to GT5 soundtrack while racing .Been planning to change it back but The racing is too much fun to leave and check the options menu :D
 
it resets on me but only if i quit the game and start it up again. so every time i load up the game i have to set my race BGM again. if it's of any relevance i use a 250 gb slim
 
Nah it's completely broken for me. Menu and Race BGM don't stick for more than one race.

Yep. Quite annoying.
It was fine until this update.

im playing on a slim, since my 60GB launch fatty died over a year ago :(

never had this music issue you guys are talking about...i just setup a different playlist last night for menu music and it works perfectly so far with a BGM playlist and Race playlist
 
I was having problems intermittently before this last update. Ever since the update I cant use my own music, the option is red lined out. No personal music available to me at all. I can access through the XMB, but not through the game. I have one folder, 250 songs.
It used to be shuffle would turn itself off, and as annoying as that was, its not as bad as not having music at all.
Why would you show me the option is newly available yet not allow me to use it, and then take the previous working available option away too ?

My race music last days have same problem, everytime I restart PS3 its againd default music. I think I know why!!!!!! :) Try to quit the game and check all your tracks one by one, Maybe some of the tracs ps3 wont recognize, its "corupted data" or just Blank. try to delete those songs, I have couple of them (before that I had other music worked just fine), I will try later on maybe this helps. I think ps3 select this broken file (obviously it's not broken ps3 just don't recognize it) and when it happens he setups back default songs... this might be the case..

PS. my setup is Shufle ON, Repeat OFF (sometimes still it changes back to default, recommend you check it out after some time)

it works just fine for some, and for some not, just try and see. If this happens to you you just have to turn it on after every PS3 restart..
 
but not even that last one works for some of us. Restart PS3 all i want, no difference. Ive checked an tried every button, every icon, from all screens.
