That Civic "1.5 VTi" was kind of a mess and should stay retired. It began life as a USDM Civic Si in FM1 and underwent a half-assed RHD conversion and rename for FM2.

The more modern racecars like the GT cars or V8 Supercars not coming back to the next game and being replaced by their newer counterparts is perfectly fine and normal, since they're not old enough to warrant their own category and would not be competitive anyway against the new cars... but on the other hand why stuff like the DBR9 and M3 GT2 are still in FM6 beats me.

I'd probably go with a list that looks like this:

-Austin Healey 3000

-BMW Z3 M Coupe

-Sauber Mercedes C9

I really want more standard versions of the Mustang. I love the GT350R, I love the GT500, but I would like the old Mustang Boss 302, or even the new Mustang GT.

To those who keep posting the 993 GT2, it's coming back in FH3 in the Porsche pack, it's pretty much confirmed via the DLC leak from a while back.

Amazing article! I still hope the E60 to make its return. It's hard to argue the V10 M5 has become such a legendary car not only in BMW's history, but when it comes to cars in general. Such a unique beast it was. For me, the last true M car along the E92.

I would LOVE to see the European city cars from FM4 make a return in FM7 (Ka, C1, 107, March, Spark, Aygo, Fortwo, etc.). And while we're at it, bring back F class! Cars that made the cut to next-gen that were initially F class found themselves to be incredibly underwhelming and unprepared to take on E class cars.

I would love to see FM4 backwards compatible, I think it's the best game in the series. So many good cars and tracks that never made it back into Forza yet. But until then, I'll keep my 360 plugged in.

I really wouldn't hold my breath for FM4 returning via BC. The game and its DLC was removed from the Xbox Store over a year ago, similar to the first Horizon last autumn.

It's the main reason I keep my 360 hooked up. Revisiting it for the images reminded me of how quick the menus were in FM4 (outside of the aftermarket wheels), and how awesome it was to re-organize your garage based on custom folders.

The main reason it didn't make it is another batch of cars people are mentioning here: the FM4 starter cars. With so many little city runabouts present, they all split the vote.

Honestly, there were so many cars that nearly made it that we could've doubled the list size without trying. But at ~1500 words already, we had to cut it off at a dozen. The Pantera was one of those cars that were on the cusp.

We could always do another, with input from the whole GTP community...
