If there were qualifying sessions already in the game the fastest would be in front row (as in real life) and not in the backrow.

The situation for now is that the faster ones have to overtake the slower ones first which leads to accidents...

And also you can watch people gaining an advantage (good starting position) with adjusting their PP to a number slightly lower than the allowed maximum.

I kind of like it how it is now, makes for much more interesting races. If the fastest cars were in the front, the slow ones in the back of the grid would have absolutely no chance of winning the race. At least now you have a fair chance of winning even with a car that can't reach the max PP allowed for the event. Accidents happen, they're not a reason to make this game F1, where overtaking when it happens is nowadays pretty much front page news the next day.

What I'd love to see is some kind of online race serieses with multiple races where points carry over. Hopefully this will be implemented in the private races.

There are races especially for players with slow/bad connection.
They are marked with a little image besides them which shows only one little symbol of a person.
The ones which show two persons are for good/faster connections.

I think those symbols show how many players are in that room.
No person is no players and 4 persons is many players.

If there's 1 person in the symbol then it's logical that the rooms for that race are smaller, because there aren't many players to join the room.
And the number of good hosts with fast connections is also very low in such races.

I thought those little symbols (white squares) denoted how many races were and not people were currently available in that event

I have been hosting (always hosting) a max of 12 contestants. My line 10MBit SDSL fiber. Very low ping. 20-30 ms from Norway to Spain. Within Scandinavia 5-15 ms.
