At the moment there are 3 arcade time trials, where fastest time on PRO-physics is driven using a pad.Fuji F Amuse 2000 and Ford GT LM spec ll.Daytona Road Ford GT LM spec ll.Why is it that with simulation settings the fastest time,in a game as good as this,is a controller driver? That should not be the case, even if your'e a 'pro padler'.
In a game like this, with pro physics, you shouldn't be able to get better times with pad than a scilful driver with a wheel!Even thoe the physics are totaly different.
I want some chanchngs on that.Or at least show us if the time is made by a wheel or a pad.You can see it when watching a replay at driver view(wheel movement),but only with those 10 fastest.
I want justice and glory to steering wheel drivers! I HATE THAT :)

So basically what you're saying is that people not having enough money for a expensive controller (wheel) should not be able to compete with others and thus not be able to have as much fun with the game.
Man Ithink that's a bit shortsided. Come on it's a game, so it should be played with A game controller, no matter being that a sixaxis or G25, people paying money for the game should all be able to have fun with it.

You can have all the fun you wan't,the fastest time on PRO physics have to be a wheel driven!Otherwise it lacks it's credibilety to be a sim racing game!

I'm pretty sure 3/4 of people who buy GT5/GT5P will use controllers opposed to $299 wheels. ;)

Well get out there and set them then! The fastest times are by the fastest methods.

I'm a hell of a lot faster with a pad than a wheel, but I like the wheel because it is fun. In the future I might get better with the wheel, but i won't berate the pad users out there who are faster than me, you shouldn't either.

I don't use a wheel for one reason and it aint money. I like to play layed back, with a wheel you have to sit.

What are you talking about?!

Because someone is faster with a pad you've got a problem?! Its a game for god's sake. There are multiple methods of control, and if one happens to be faster, boo-hoo for the party not using said method.

I see a solution for that problem.

Grab your wheel an beat the time!

Yet you have the privilege of posting here when you're obviously not using the English language or a proper spell-checking... hmmm, maybe you shouldn't be allowed because you can't handle the language. Feel better?

So basically you are saying people using a pad are getting better times than you do using a wheel. This has nothing to do with the physics mate, it just sounds to me that you are getting beat and can't take it!

What does it matter pad or wheel if your fast your fast.

Stop whining and D/L the top time replays and try and beat them.

Then you can have your justice and bathe in the glory

Tell SONY they have to make a DS4 which is 4mm wide and has only one button.. would that be OK for you?

You never thought about of which magnificent widget those pads are, didnt you ?

They are worked out so cleverly you can control almost every game perfectly not just GT5, so they are simply terrific !

I don't know for GT5p but if you play other sims, padlers always have an advantage over wheel users.

It is easier for a skilled padler to get faster times than for wheel users, thus people using a pad gold an event more quickly than a wheel user.

This is not about me being fast, which I happen to be,it's about howe the game is made!
I want those pole positions belong to wheelers.:sly:

....sounds too me you need to practice some more buddy. By the way, what you're saying is nonsense! Not everyone wants to buy and/or use a wheel. And YOU believe they should be penalized for that choice???

Truly, a notion that belongs in the trash can of non-sensical ideas if I ever saw one :) No offense

oooh, and congrats on "being fast"....ooooh

are you realy sure these times are done with controllers??i know people who drive incredable smooth with a cortoller and ones who are really "like a rally driver" with their stearing movements.....:)
spyrrari.

How so?

Maybe if racers used a controller in real life they could be faster too?

the steering isn't as responsive with a pad in gt games like it is in other sims...rfactor etc
it's like there's a maximum rate the wheel can turn, so takes time to steer very fast
if you use the cockpit view you can see the wheel doesn't move in time with where you move the analog stick
I've not got a wheel but I take it this isn't just something that happens when using a pad, or is there a setting somewhere I have missed?

wheel's more fun but just don't need it to be smooth with the game...

One of these days, Type R, One of these days.... I'll send ya to the moon!

Pads have always been faster, always will be. Its not about the game physics, its just that a pad can do what a wheel cant. To make it short, you can learn to be very smooth with a pad, but you can never learn to go from lock to lock and back again in under a second with a wheel.

ya im very good with the pad (and have never owned a wheel), and i'll be buying a G25 when GT5 comes out, im kinda afraid i'll have to relearn everything ha

You have to catch me first. As sed,I'm awfully fast!:dopey:

And about the quicknes of turning from left to right,I think wheel is faster.Spyrrari, those are driven with pad,I know.

Good luck, Took me a while to get use to it. DFP my first wheel ever from my 15+ years of gaming with a pad.

Yeah, completely that. I remember I finished GT3 once, with a pad and tried to do it again with a wheel. And I was stuck a 99.8% cuz I couldn't do complex string with the RUF time trial with a wheel, haha. Went and grabbed the pad, gold.

Do you really think going lock to lock in one second would make you faster? It wouldn't exactly do wonders for your handling. The fact is that wheels or pads are faster for different people. I happen to be better with the wheel. It's not as easy as you say to be smooth with the pad, and there is a limit to how smooth you can get. They will always be buttons.

Sixaxis can nit be quickly then G25 - g25 have clutch it given to you 3-4 seconds on EACH track!
At simple on Ferrari F599 with clutch i faster on start then Nissan GT-R that have a fastest gearbox on game! But robot of F599 nad F430 must be quickly!
And only for that reason i have time 1.44.816 at Fuji Time Trial (online) at Ferrari F599 all other 99 top cars is the Lotus and Nissan GT-R!!!

thats what the guy is saying if you take the time and pay attention rather than pounding him straight away..!!

If you were to fit a pad to a modern vehicle (say an M5 for sake of argument as they most likely all electronic inputs anyway..steering, throttle etc) you think you would be able to get it around a track faster than you would with the wheel..not a chance.

so if it turns out that you cant get nr the top ten with the wheel, no matter how good you are..id say maybe there is a problem :nervous: depending on how much of a sim you want GT to be.??

Just one question for you. Do you honestly believe your arms and legs faster and more precise than your fingers? Your fingers that have evolved over millions of years to handle such work as opposed to your arms for reach and your legs and feet which you stand on.

For crying out loud...?

This is a video game. Many of us have been playing them for years and years now, we've got used to controlling all kinds of movements with a pad (fighting, running, jumping, shooting etc). The truth is we (well, most of us) aren't used to using a steering wheel to control a car that is driven right on the edge of it's handling limitations. If we'd all been doing that for years then the chances are the fastest times would be set with a wheel, however the reality is they're not.
