2.02 Chase Camera Change - Now Dynamic

There needs to be an option to choose between the dynamic chase cam and the original one. The fact people are getting headaches or getting motion sickness from the new view should be enough reason to give us this option.

If they've taken the time to make it, so why not keep it as an option?

Yeah, there defiantly needs to be some settings for the cameras, its really annoying having a really nice car but not having a good view to race in. Example in point is the Jag XKR; the interior position in that is terrible, the top of the steering wheel is above the center of the screen. Some interior views are far too narrow, hood cams mounted on the roof, chase cams meters away from the back of the car.. its quite inconsistent. Bumper cam is "stale", hood view on some cars is excellent and on others its in the center of the roof, interior view is either too narrow or very poorly positioned and doesn't move naturally and chase cam is either too far away or gives you motion sickness.

At lease some fore/aft, movement/sway and maybe some FOV settings as well. Not complaining, just some constructive criticism

I posted a petition here if anyone is interested:

Exactly. If it was an option, threads like this wouldn't need to be made because we'd already have what we want.

The new chase cam is abysmal. GT has always had a more fixed camera, and I first tried it out on the Nurb, and it was unusable. It's like someone is shaking my TV as I play. I often used chase cam when driving, now I can't bear it.

Also want to add that Forza has a decent chase cam, has some dynamicness to it but not nearly as severe as this POS. Leave it to PD to add a poorly done feature no one asked for or needed.

Exactly my thoughts. I hope PD at least adds the old chase cam back in.

 How does it have anything to do with physics?

Is there a big long invisible pole contacting the chase cam to the car? I don't think so.

Think of the chase cam as being on a helicopter following you. When your car hits a bump why the hell would the helicopter bounce too? It wouldn't.

Why wouldn't you want to "feel" the road? It's a nice feature, if your one to like such a thing, which seems as a no.

I thought I was getting used to it but I'm not. I can drive and play the game with basically the same lap times but for the first 20min I have nausea it then goes away, then after I stop playing it comes back. I find myself not wanting to play because of this I may have to take a break until this sorted if not I think I'm done.

I agree that they put an option to turn it on or off. There are people like me who love this new dynamic chase cam. Pd could easily put an option like in GT2 and GT3 where you could adjust the chase cam.

I use chase cam a lot with standards, and I wouldn't like to go back to the old stiff one... This new chase cam is by far the best than any other car game has, except for GT3. NFS and Forza's is rediculously exagerated.

Count me in! I'm neutral about the chase cam. It's nice once in a awhile, but we need a switch to enable or disable it. The cam almost feels like when you get drunk in Grand Theft Auto 4. Plus I've been noticing that people have been saying that they been feeling nauseous also.

Thank you. What I'm trying to do here is simple. And obviously pointed at the minority I suppose. It's kind of like this...who on earth would change the formula for coca-cola?

And was there ever a single soul out there that expressed unsatisfaction about that view? (Especially since it's a minority type thing).

And thanks again for people taking the time to debate I supposed. It wouldn't hurt the cause! :)

I have a bug to report that I have found. I am 4 hours into the 24hr Nurburgring. As we know, 2.02 brought a dynamic chase cam. I don't hate it, it's not bad. Well, until I found a bug with it.

The car tends to be twitchy with chase cam, sort of looks like it's lagging. Now, I have the car on the left of my screen. Slightly leaned to the left. It's not on the center of the screen, it is slightly to the left. The car isn't at the middle of the G force bar. Before it would move left and right but it would return to the center of the screen. Now it doesn't. It returns if I save and quit, but after a while it returns. I have never had problems with any of the updates that PD has released, but this little problem is bugging me a lot. Chase cam is my main view and now it's ruined. I can't even drive properly. I love PD and GT5 and I appreciate their work, but I hope they don't forget to fix this.

I hope PD fixes this bug, or give us the option to choose between the old cam and the new one. I don't want my driving experience ruined.

i don't like it as much as the old but i don't mind it now, except on bumpy tracks like nurburgring and le sarthe it makes me wanna puke

Precisely. Le sarthe, nurburg, cape ring. All tracks like that make me ill now. Don't get me wrong...I think its a cool advancement but just not for everyone.

And for those who refer to the old cam as "stiff", I thinks it's the complete opposite. The old one floated on it's own axis. The new one is connected to all axis and therefore is technically more "stiff".

Sign me up. Like what the others have said, there's a need for an option to enable or disable it in order to satisfy both parties. I hope they would implement such feature in future updates.

Chase cam is improved....before it was horrible and felt like the road was turning vs the car turning. With update the car actually looks like it's turning with the road.
