2.02 Chase Camera Change - Now Dynamic

Agreed. It's a horribly implemented feature that no one wanted.

Again, PD doing their own thing instead of actually trying to improve the game.

I love it and I was waiting for it.. so.. better if they implemented both of them.. so everybody is happy 👍

I'm not liking this new feature. :grumpy: In fact, after I was done for the moment and turned off the game... For a moment I had this feeling everything was moving and bumping... just like the chase camera...

In fact while writting this, I had that same feeling again... it's not nice :(

Hope they fix this soon :guilty:... Can't be good for me or anyone else experiencing this sensation... :scared:, I'm not a doctor or anything but someone could get hurt...

When turning in the PS3 a message comes up warning you about epilepsy. This same warming should be placed into GT5 warning you about the new chase cam. I've always use chase cam and now I find very distracting when driving.

MONSTAR-1

Yeah, I was wondering how it'll effect you, MONSTAR.

This 👍

Why PD, why??? :guilty:

I'm going to continue trying to adapt to it... but if a headache appears... I'm dropping GT5 until this gets solved...

I just tried it at Grand Valley, and my eyes were bothering me like mad after only two laps. I can't imagine how sick I would have felt had I tried it at a track that wasn't as smooth as glass. Luckily I usually use roof cam instead, but my heart goes out to you guys.

What a lie is spread here.

There is not that much movement, the camera this time is just fixed even more to the car, not drunk, not bad, not hard, just closer and tighter.

Nice to know that you are capable of experiencing other people's physical reactions to visual stimuli better than they are.

3 hours GT5 + new cam = feeling dizzy all day.

Really should be optional or adjustable, hopefully by January.

It's more fun and gives a lot of feedback though, I'd just want to adjust it to use for extended periods.

Anyone just read Kaz' new tweet?:

It is rear view, don't you think?. This you correct. It becomes update of next year, but. RT @inometabo: When @Kaz_Yamauchi it updates, the background adjusting to behavior, it reaching the point where it shakes, it may become drunk, is,… it is View of the whole car.

I think he says that it will be changed next year.

I need a better translation for that. :odd: You never know if it means something else. :P

Did you throw it in Google Translate or something?

Well, at least my wife is happy that I spent a few hours on the wheel she got me for Christmas last year... I simply refuse to use the DS3 now because of the view and the wife is happy... ugh :grumpy:

I did notice that bumper cam felt a little more real today and the wheel felt more accurate, maybe that was all in my head from the headache I got last night messing with chase cam...

Man some tracks you don't notice it at all and some tracks are like the old gta games when you would pick up a hooker and it would shake for a bit...except for the whole track rather then 10 seconds...lol

Maybe using chase cam in the real driving simulator isnt such a good idea.??
And like I said in an earlier post, maybe using a DS3 on a driving sim isnt a good idea... lets not make wheels optional or if you want to drive manual lets just require a wheel with a H gearbox and clutch... There is a winner!

Maybe waiting on PD was a good thing... 5-6 years in creation for the game, a delayed first DLC... now actually something that released on schedule! This is what we get:

Glad to know Kaz is aware of the problem... :) Hopefully this should be solved in just a week or two 👍... (my guess)

Yeah, the new chase cam is pretty cool in my opinion... especially on the Nurburgring.

Check this video out!

I hate it after 10 seconds of drifting I felt like I was going to throw up!!, I used to use the chase cam for drifting quite often and now I cant because it makes me feel sick!!

as far as i could see, now it's more like other racing games, including forza. Car is more "mobile" and not fixed.. I think you only have to get used to that.. But if i can give you an advice: Try bumper or cockpit views. They are hard at first but are more accurate and precise and give you better driving feel.

ha hahahah kaz needs to take it off !!!

Maybe screwing with the way one of the camera angles works when there was nothing wrong with it in the first place isn't such a good idea.

Exactly...I cant think of a single post ever mentioning an issue with the pre-2.01 chase cam. I usually use the cockpit view as I use a wheel, but from time to time I will go to chase cam to see my car. Did this today after the update (been in vegas) and immediately crashed on the first turn...I got really disoriented. I dont really like it but I think with practice we will all get use to it. SET IT BACK PD!!

I think that dynamic camera should be implemented in all other views (especially in the "1st person view"), it reminds me of GT3´s cam. That camera gives us a better feeling close to real life. If you have driven a car in real life you should understand what I mean. Please PD, make this camera available to all views and make it optional that way everyone should be pleased.

I really like the new chase cam. it adds a better sense of speed which is what I think Poly was going for given the fact that they increased the wind speed noise. It almost feels like a new game to me.

Dynamic camera damn near made me sick and had my head turning sideways lol

Awesome addition, much more submersive with this rather than a static chase POV. Adds power to the physics that are happening in front of us IMO and it is challenging looking through this POV sometimes, but I like that challenge.

I am testing the new view out now, one think I want removed is the stupid angles you see at the countdown races.

I know what my car looks like I don't want to see it from 45* angles.
