I wonder if this new chase cam has any use as a tuning aid... I don't use chase view very often, but I decided to try it and see what all the fuss is about the new version of this chase camera..
Here's what it seems is being done... Attach a long invisible pole to the back of the car, pointing up and behind the Car, add a camera on a 'steady cam' type of thing... It seems to me, that if the car rolls, or weight transfers forward or back, the chase came reflects the car's attitude. Of course it's also seemingly stabilized to some degree ( like a steady cam device might do ).
So, if the movement of this chase came actually does reflect the car's attitude , maybe we could potentially stiffen things up a bit by changing suspension settings on the car and/or see more easily what the car is doing in terms of how much it rolls in corners and such.
Either way... Um... I get nauseous while watching that new version of the chase cam... It really would be nice to be able to revert back to the old style , at will... Now, since I don't use this view often, it's not a really big deal to me.
Having said that.... I started seeing similar behavior with the other views... Bumper and Roof cam to be more specific... I'm not sure if it was my imagination, or my stomach rolling over after I had tried the chase cam... Has anyone else noticed changes in the way the other views work?
