2.02 Chase Camera Change - Now Dynamic

I think its bloody horrible. I'm now racing in car view because I cant race with the chase cam. YUCK!!! :yuck:

That's good.. I still wish we could look around our cars using the analog, like in Need for Speed Hot Pursuit, and a few others..

I'd love that. At the very least put it in replay mode. Maybe a zoom in/out and rotate camera option.

You desrve an A+......when using 3rd person/chase cam we should be allowed to view 360 degree w/ car still in the picture. This is the only time you can ever view your car during a race rather than just in the garage ect. I also play Forza chase 3rd person/chase cam in GT5 is horrible to me it just feels like the road is moving left & right, rather than car turning itself. So I don't ever use this view.

I do like the cam. It makes the view more dinamic and shows how the car reacts to bumps on the road, making it more "alive".

The new chase cam isn't bad when it's moving, but after a while it starts to become jaggy and loses time with your car. It really hurts my eyes and it effectively means I have to use another view. So good if only it weren't for that one crucial flaw there.

Can imagine PD will be looking to put in an option for this feature soon.

when using the "chase cam" i've noticed that they havent renamed my cars in the garage....

it should be "HMS Nissan GTR '07"

Even my wife hates third person view cam, that cam is completely undriveable, it's ok for kids who want to "see" their cars. If PD glorified it with chase, then that's all good for those who wish to continue using it and to show off with it. I seriously doubt any top 100 hardcore sim racers would ever be able to drive competitively in a chase cam. I'd lose 15s per lap if I ever used it. to each their own.

new chase cam seems interesting. Moves to much for my tastes however. Very unnatural feeling about it. Depending on the track I can see a lot of people getting a little naseous initially. I think it's a good idea but I was perfectly happy with the old chase cam. Used it last night for a while and admit it makes your eyes go a bit crazy at first. Guess I'll get used to it though.

I like that. Doesn't seem like a soap bar gliding across the track anymore since the camera is more lively.

For example, taking a car on Le Sarthe, you can see it travel the countless bumps, but the camera sat perfectly still. Not anymore though, which is nice.

I'm not sure bout this view yet, I've raced about 1hr on chase and it does seem jumpy and all over the place. I personally would prefer this view to be an extra camera or have the ability to turn off "chase".

I love the chase cam, though I seem faster with hood cam. It has better sound, wider range of view, I like to see my car other than just in the garage and replay's, surrounding car's also sound better. Only time I use cockpit is if it's raining/snowing. The new camerra is bad, the land around the car seem's to move in a separated dimension from that of the car. Also it's like the person holding the camera has very unsteady hand's. Also @LamBob I place within the top 500 on leaderboard's regularly and am definitely not a child. Your whole post seemed to be, I'm not good with it therefor no one else is great with it.

Exactly! It shows the reaction of the suspension.

My thoughts exactly bro. Last night I took my tuned ZR1 to Nurb at sunset, tried this view and was like OMG, this is fantastic! It takes some getting used to, but it really adds intensity and involvement while using that view.👍

Like you I kinda get offended with the offhand comments about chase cam being fake, for kids, arcade and all the different things said about people who use it.

Im definitely not a kid myself and have 2 kids... I am just as fast in chase cam as I am in bumper... I like chase for the reasons I said above, the reasons you said and also another good part of it is you know where your car is in relation to the track at all times (hood cam does this too but I find hood cam distracting myself), bumper cam requires guessing that you are on the track for the most part (it does take some time to get used to)

WHAT? That was my favorite cam, I always hated lifeless interiors and hoods, this was my favorite.

No wait a second, that is not what I experienced earlier today, I drove a Nissan 350Z and everything was normal.

I'll be sticking with version 2.01 SOLELY based on the new view, because I only race using the chase view. The above video example of the new view was on a very flat track, when you go over big bumps in the road on tracks with greater elevation changes, the differences are quite a bit more noticeable.

To me that view was part of the identity of the gt series since the beginning, so I sure hope they give the old option, at least in addition to this new view. If they had these new changes as another option, or way to toggle between the new and old chase cam, that would satisfy both the people who like and dislike it, and with all the adjustments they make and time they spend updating this game, I'm sure wouldn't be too difficult of an update for them since it was already there to begin with.

Love the new chase cam. The cars no longer look like they're pivoting from a central axis due to the stiffness from the old cam. I could never race with the old one, which was a horrible view.

The Chase cam sucks now!!!!!!!!!! I used the view to race and now theyve turned it into a joke like a Juiced game if you have ever hear of that title. Thats wht i always hated about Forza! Now its on GT5 whyyy???

From the videos, it looks pretty good but I'm not going to rate it yet. I'm going to give it a go when I get back from work. I need to see how I drive with the new view.

Just tried it, they ruined that view within 2min I was nauseous. I couldn't hit one apex. It does feel like GTA when your character is drunk

Threads #4 and 5 all on the changes to chase view, again, merged to the main one. Please look before starting a new thread, folks!
