I was going to elaborate on that but I was wondering if anyone would care enough to warrant it.

I appreciate there's a certain satisfaction and achievement in tuning and driving a car like that to it's limit, but it's not something that interests me in the slightest. I'm interested in being on the ultimate edge of speed. So, if you choose to sit down and mess around with an Espace or whatever for hours on end, more power to you, I just think it's a retarded endeavour and I won't be wasting my time doing it, and I'll shake my head and sigh at anyone who does. Neither of us will really care, so it's all good.

I disagree. My friend came over all the time, me and himm would go to the class c and pic out the worst cars, sometimes we would drive 63 hp minivans around midfield, always a blast!! that coupled w/ the fact that it truely tests your driving skill :)

Actually driving slow car doesn't test your driving skill, it tests your patience. When you drive a slow car, the ideal racing line can be very different to driving a fast one. Also theres much more time for your reflexes and not as high a risk of losing control. you want to test your driving skills, try a record lap in a Speed 12 at the Complex string.

Hmm... It can test your driving skill from the point of view that, without any torque, racing becomes all about who can maintain the most momentum.

I have a question. Why does Famine feel the need to answer every question on this forum with some smarta$$ comment? The guy was asking for a personal opinion, not for rude and flippant remarks. I'm sure the legion of Famine fans are going to be all over me now but I've noticed this disturbing trend more and more recently.

Here's a thought. If you don't have an answer or a constructive opinion to offer, don't post. Simple.

My OPINION on GT4:

1) I would guess it will have some sort of 3D rims. Like someone said, if there are 3D spectators there should be 3D rims.

2) John nailed it. The worst part about GT4 is that I'm not playing it right now.

My answer was precise and exact, carrying all the information anyone asking this kind of question needs to know. We are NOT Polyphony Digital. The only answers we can offer are opinions - and with 16,000 different members here, we'd get 16,000 different opinions - ALL of which are worthless in the face of zero facts.

As neon_duke said, if you don't know the answer, don't give the answer - so your "opinion" was less constructive than my accurate answer. If you don't like it, I suggest you don't post.

Is there something wrong with the word "ass" that you feel the need to re-spell it with dollar signs?

I felt it a bit crASS......

Oh, and opinions are what drives a message board. If I want "facts" I'll go to IGN or some other such place. If I want to discuss mine and others opinions of GT4, then I shall come here. There's a fact for you to chew on.

That's all well and good, but here's the original post:

1. Will GT4 Include 3D rims?

How will an "opinion" help here? The question is will, not should. The appropriate answer is "I don't know" - only Polyphony Digital have the answer to this question. Are YOU from PD? Am I? No - so we don't know the answer to this question at all. Opine all you want - it won't help.

More promising - what do you think? Oh but look - what do you think will be the worst part of GT4? Well I don't know about you, but I don't know ANY of what's in GT4 because I haven't got the game yet, and I'm not part of the development team. So again the answer is "I don't know", because we don't know what's IN GT4 to debate what the worst part of it will be.

As you can see "the guy" wasn't asking for your opinion, or anyone else's. He was asking for answers to two questions. We cannot provide answers to them because we are not PD. But yet you feel the need to weigh in with your "opinion" and attack me for posting actual information - apparently facts are now "rude and flippant".

Again I will point out that neon_duke said "If you don't know the answer, don't post it". You're welcome to your guesses, but don't present them as answers to questions you do not know the answer to, and certainly don't assume they are better or worse than anyone else's guesses.

You can defend your "facts" all you want to, but anybody with any sense who read the original question and then your remarks would know that you were not attempting to answer his questions in good faith, but were instead ridiculing him and the question as not being worth discussion here. That in and of itself is an implied opinion; your opinion that the question had no merit. The "answers" you gave amounted to no more than simply not replying would have and, as such, your comments were unnecessary, not to mention rude and flippant.

By the way, just because I don't have the game yet does not mean I do not have access to a bevy of information concerning what the game will include. That is why there are these people called journalists who's purpose is to inform the public on developments of the game. Considering E3 just wrapped last week, we now have quite a bit of knowledge about GT4 on which we can (presumably) base intelligent and honest opinions. The "fact" that the game has not been released yet is, in my opinion, the worst part of GT4 as it was supposed to be released months ago. That was an answer that did not require me to have played the game yet and was fully justified by the original question.

Funnily enough, the thread starter responded directly after my post, and showed no sign of being offended.

I implied nothing - I stated that, in both cases, we cannot answer the question as we are not PD. I repeated it twice for comedy effect. You inferred from this that I was being rude - the thread starter didn't. Your inference is your problem, not mine.

But hey, score yourself some self- kudos points by attacking me. Do it some more, I like it. (Edit: It seems that I'm not the only "target" over the last few days of Majin's posts. Did your dog die or something?)

In your "opinion", would it be better to have been playing an unfinished, flawed game for the last 6 months, or waiting another 4 months for a complete article? Don't actually answer that, because I don't care - just use it for some inward reflection.

I've got to agree with Famine on this one. Majin, you should really look at your questions before posting them. They are not opinion questions, but stupid questions. Also, having access to a "bevvy of information" does not mean you are smart, or know more than me or you or anybody else about the game. It simply means that you have read articles about the game, and may be true or untrue. Famine said it plain and simple, none of us have the game yet. Wait until it comes out before asking stupid questions.

Honestly, I don't post too many times here. I've been a member for nearly a year, but, for the most part, I just read and enjoy everybody's opinions and updates. What irritates me are people who think it is their right to pronounce to the entire board what is or isn't worthy of discussion. I, as an educated and well read man, am certainly capable of deciding which posts are worthy of my time and which aren't.

In your opinion what was accomplished by your attempt to be funny at the expense of a new member (other than serving the ego trip you are currently on). Oh wait, I don't care. Just use it for some inward reflection.

(Edit: Also, if you are as intelligent and unerring as you have always claimed to be, why lower yourself to the level of a simple flame-artist? Does it make you feel better about your life to demean others opinions? Feel free to reflect on that as well.)

ok, guys, I tried to ask what the worst part of GT4 will be from the videos/screenshots youve seen...THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR TELLING ME THAT YOU DONT HAVE THE GAME....I said what I THINK would be the worst part of GT4, Is it so hard to answer with "In my opinion, I think the fact that you cannot fall off of the cliffs is going to be the worst"......jeez, not "IM NOT POLYPHONY, I DONT KNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!"...

PS. This photomode looks really cool!

No, it's not that hard at all (unless someone is just trying to be a prick).

Flinx sadly beat me to my call, IGN is far from a factual shrine. Neither is any journalist I've ever encountered, the news media can now be safely redefined to a place "where information undergoes manipulation to bolster interest."

If only all that has transpired in this thread could act as a warning beacon to others who wish to post stupid questions in a forum shared by pseudo-intellectuals with too much time on their hands... Sigh.

That's fairly ironic considering the contents of your signature.......

Everything's ironic if you're cynical enough. Focus on the message.

Before we have to order a boxing ring for Majin and Famine to duke it out no-holds-barred (or wait for GT4), I'm just going to reinforce something.

Okay, the creator of this thread (GT3 Master GT4) asked two questions. One about rims, the other about the WORST aspect of the game. Now, the first question is a legitimate question, even though it has nothing to do with the driving aspects or completing the game with 100% ratings. The second one is a LITTLE dull because the game hasn't been released yet. So no one is at bay to discuss what is actually bad about the game. We can only speculate. I think I'm going to talk more about such questions in the future. But in the meanwhile, what has kind of sparked a "rivalry" was Famine's reply stating "I don't know. GT4 is not out yet. I'm not PD. Don't ask me." Now, that reply would definitely come down to the second question GT3_Master_GT4 asked. But GT3_Master_GT4, I hope some of my comments were of help to you. As I've said, we can only dream. With the influx of new GTPlanet members, I just want to tell my side the way only I know how. Whether it's friendly, optimistic, humorous, angry, sad, passionate, or what have you, I'll do what I can to answer.

So anyhow, oh, and one thing about the rims. Don't bet on seeing any spinners or tuner wheels. The "fanboys" most likely won't get their wish with GT4.

:odd: Were did all the new guys come from?:D

Again you have inferred something from my posts which was not implied. You infer that I was "trying to be funny at the expense of a new member", when in fact I wasn't - I was accurately stating the answer to the questions. However the repetition of the answer WAS for comedic effect, but at the expense of no-one.

I have never claimed anything about my intelligence (which, coincidentally you just have), or rate of "err". Try and find something to back up your "opinion", rather than just lying outright.

I have yet to demean anyone's opinions, other than to say opinions presented as fact when no facts are available are worthless.

Flame-artist? Well, so far you've called me a "smarta$$" (sic), rude, on an "ego trip" and "trying to be a prick" (well, I inferred that from the contents of your post). I have yet to insult anyone. If you're as educated and as well-read as you claim to be, why do you feel the need to stoop to the level of insults to get your "point" across?

You've never claimed anything about your intelligence eh? I suppose your signature doesn't count. You know. The one where you said something like "Famine: Smarter than you with proof." Now who's lying outright?

Oh, and the "insults" were just facts. You were being a rude smartass on an ego trip. I do apologize for the prick comment however.

Actually, it said "Officially more knowledgable than you", containing a link to the GTP Awards where the populous of this site had seen fit to award me GTP's Most Knowledgable (along with "Most Helpful"). I never claimed it, I was merely awarded it.

Still, all this has arisen from an "educated and well read man"'s astonishing ability to infer subtext from a post where none was implied. It's your mistake and your problem, and getting all worked up and perpetually insulting me won't do anything to change that. Still, if it makes you feel better and all big, do continue.

The "Officially more knowledgeable than you" comment was written by you as your signature so you did claim it. But that's beside the point. I admit that you used to be quite helpful in the forums (notably the GT3 forum). Ironically, that was what motivated me to post originally. I've noticed of late that, instead of being helpful and polite, you've become spiteful and sarcastic. I don't know why this has occurred but I am merely pointing it out.

As far as inferring nonexistent subtext goes, I bet that anybody with any sense reading the original post and then your comment would infer some sort of negative subtextual meaning from it. You claimed that the thread starter took no offense, but he did. I guess that means that I'm not the only one who got the true meaning of your post.

That last sentence ought to read "I'm not the only one who got the false meaning of your post". Unlike other members here I do not imply - I say. The internet is renowned for being a poor medium to extract subtext from, as you have rather excitingly displayed. If I wished to cause offence, you can guarantee that I would - I may even put a rolleyes smiley in to suggest sarcasm, or possibly [sarcasm] tags, for ease of reading.

If you or anyone else inferred a different meaning than the actual meaning of my post, that is entirely your/their problem since you have had to read between the lines to extract it. I don't waste my time by hiding behind words - I prefer to use them. As I have said my post was intended to be 100% factually accurate only, which I acheived.

I have not changed at all since my first post on this site. Deal with it.

Feel free to not "merely" point out anyone else's perceived character flaws. If calling someone "a rude smartass on an ego trip" is "merely pointing it out", I'd hate to see what you do to drum the point home.

Well, I can't say that my posts are all factually accurate, as enthusiasm for the subject matter and old-fashioned misinformation sometimes erodes them before I even submit them, but I've never heard of a forum that only features factually correct responses and impeccable grammar. Forums are only as good as the people who participate in them, and Famine, from the few of his posts I've read, doesn't seem the type to offend people. At least not purposely. I get both of your points, but this thread is turning into something I could only describe as "anal and anal-ler", god forbid I mispelled that.

Now that I like.

I strive for correct, if not always perfect, grammar. It's important to me, rather than to how people perceive me. Others are not the same, and that's appreciated. 50|\/|3 j|_|5+ |\/|4|<3 |\|0 3|=|=0|2+ 4+ 411 - and they deserve being mercilessly picked on.

As for misinformation... I hate it. :D If I don't know an answer, I won't post it - although I've been known to submit incorrect answers to mathematics quizzes (shock!). If I don't know an answer but I'm on the internet, I'll spend ten minutes trying to find out if I was right (or right in as far as the internet can say) before I post. I will always take an opportunity to "update" what I know, as I am a scientist - it can even change my opinion as more information is made available.

Incidentally, would you like to join the Legion of Famine? :D
