Well, considering Friday Practice two is underway and there's no thread about it, I figured I'd put one up. If Blake hasn't been busy today he may have a map for us or something fancy but he's not online right now.

So, my predictions, considering McMerc's success last year and Kimi being fastest in practice 1 already, I'm tipping Kimi for the win, then Schuey, then probably Alonso although I'm hoping for a good result for Webber, maybe Button.

i am a big fan of williams, mclaren and renault, thay all had bad luck of last few race,i hope thay can do better this race.:indiff:

Kimi deffinatley has a good chance but I wouldn't count out De La Rosa either. Button done well last year coming from 13th on the grid to 5th in the pretty poor Honda, I'd think he'd be chasing for a podium, Alonso and MS will always have a shot too, intresting race in prospect. 👍

its a really cool track. i hope its in gt5 :) i wonder if kimi will be able to be consistant during this race...

Could someone give me a quick explanation as to why 3rd drivers tend to dominate most free practices? Do they have better set-ups or less fuel or something? I've always wondered that.

Concerning the race, I think this could be close qualifying. I expect Raikkonnen, both Ferraris, Alonso, and Button to make up the top 5, all very close. Looking forward to what I think is an extremely important race.

Unlimited engine use (as opposed to the normal drivers, who try to put as few miles on their engines as possible) and unlimited tyre usage (as opposed to the 7 sets the normal drivers get). Fuel doesn't come into it as any driver can choose any fuel levels for free practice. Also, free practice times mean nothing in reality. So many different drivers doing different things that it's hard to get representative times for most of the drivers.

I'm predicting a Ferrari 1-2 in this race with Raikkonen in 3rd and then the Renaults following in 4th and 5th with de la Rosa in 6th.

i'm hoping that Alonso will either be low in the points or not even get any some Schumacher can come back! i can't wait to see the qualifying and race, its going to be intense 👍

If Renault were smart, which I think they are, they would have used the 6 weeks or so that the mass dampers legality was in limbo to develop a front wing that doesn't need the mass dampers. I'd say they should be alright.

coul somebody expline what ferrari had on their rear wheels?? what are they for?

I am picking Michael Schumacher for Pole Position and for the race win tomorrow! Good luck Schumi!

Lets hope Webber can finally make it to the finish line this time!

Bad news for Renault on the FIA's decision! Lets see how they get along!

What is with this new wide screen view? It is ok for those with wide screen tvs but yikes it is horrible!

Thank goodness it has gone back to normal view!

Massa gets his first pole position in his F1 career as Ferarri lock out the front row. Alonso 3rd, Fisi 4th, Ralph 5th, Heidfeld 6th, Button 7th, Kimi 8th, Kubica 9th and Mark Webber rounds out the top 10. Notable names out of the top 10; De La Rosa in 12th and Barichello in 14th.

Should be quite an interesting race tomorrow. I still think Kimi will be strong but it'll be hard to get passed Schuey.

What happened to MS in the third session? I would have better my parent's house that he would take pole after his pace in Q2. Congratulations to Felipe on securing his first pole, must admit he's been hunting for it for alot of the season. 👍

It's just a shame he's at Ferrari and will be ordered before the race to let MS through and hold up Alonso.
:ouch:

According to Ross Braun, Schumy had to take it a little easy in the third session after going off at turn 1 earlier. Apparently they didn't want to risk any more errors and jeopardising qualifying position.

I think as long as Michael finishes tomorrow, he will win, and the same with Massa in second. It's up to Alonso to finish third and not let Schumy take too many points out of his lead.

I don't think so! Michael can take care of Massa on his own!

Alonso didn't do too bad! Lets see if he can keep it up tomorrow!

And what about Button? What can he bring to the race tomorrow after his big win in Hungary!

MS

Yes, but would it be practicle to dice for position, risking his car and effectively his championship to pass his team mate which I'm sure has been told repeatedly that Michael must finish ahead?

USGP 2006 ;) Come on in all honesty you can't say Massa will be allowed to win this race, or any other race this season aslong as MS is still running well.

It's a damn shame too, I rate Massa as the most improved driver this season thus far.

Of course not! Michael can take care of business on his own! He doesn't need team orders to deal to FM! The only way FM will win is if Michael DNF's!

She's only the same as some of the Alonso fanboys I've seen. There's nothing wrong with having a favourite driver and supporting them vehemently every week. I myself get quite tired of people pouncing on anyone who says a bad word about old Fernando. No-one should be invulnerable from criticism, especially when it's constructive.

In my opinion, Bee and Miss Schu are both right. Michael probably would beat Massa without team orders (just as Fernando would probably beat Fisi from second), but obviously Ferrari will tell Felipe that Michael must win.

For the record, I'm hoping Raikkonnen will win, as always.

schumacher will pass massa in the pit stops, cos he is better at maximising the lap before plus the in and out lap:)

USGP 2006 ;)

You dont honestly think massa was faster than MS in that race? MS got fastest lap just after his pitstop, on full fuel. MS was much faster, but he didnt have to drive fast.

I think Alonso will pass Schumacher from the start.

I'm not sure on his decision on the engine choice, but he didn't really use it up at Hungary, so he should be fine.
