Qualy was quite tight between Massa and Hamilton all the way, they finished each session where they were at the end of Q3

Q1/Q2/Q3
Massa --- 1:32.443/1:31.359/1:32.652
Hamilton - 1:32.580/1:31.732/1:32.935

Does anyone think the Ferrari looks better with the bar code instead of the Marlboro logo?

It actually doesn't look bad, except I wouldn't figure it to be a Marlboro logo in any way, shape, or form.

what a qualifing session , that was fun :D:D wore my BMW cap and Had the BMW flag with me :D:D BMW to finish 5th and 6th , unless tihngs go like they did last time in sepang where massa and Kimi have a bad start then some how they get stuck behind the BMWs :D:D

It's 12:30PM start in the UK as BST is in effect. And at 25C it is summer! (Though it's April and should be cloudy and about 13C!).

Looking forward to this. Davidson for a point!

I finally got to watch the qualifying and in time to watch the race.

Looks like another great battle of Ferrari vs. McLaren. Hamilton is just impressing the hell out of me. I'm still a Renault fan, but McLaren is now my favorite team. They have class, style, coolness, talent and my favorite two drivers in F1. So, how can I not like them?

EDIT: Boring race. Meh. Nice results, but what happened to Alonso? Fifth? Hamilton does it again. Good job. Three-way tie for championship driver! Alonso, Kimi and Hamilton! And Mercedes has the lead for the Constructors championship with 44 points over Ferrari's 39.

Not too bad a race, gutted for DC though.

"Joint leader, not too bad for a rookie" - Ron Dennis to Hamilton, love it lol

So Alonso, Raikkonen and Hamilton all on 22points... Could Hamilton have won it? Could McLaren have had a 1-3 or even 1-2? Maybe if it wasn't for that really bad middle stint

Great race for Massa, that should bring his self-esteem up again. Kimi didn't want to fight with Hamilton for the 2nd place, too bad. Also great race and great season so far by Heidfeld.

Great performance by Hamilton, Coulthard and Heidfeld - Hamilton is almost justifying the commentator's continual harping-on about him.

Almost my favourite bit of the race was on the starting grid when Martin Brundle said to Bernie Ecclestone "I hope you don't fob me off onto another former prime minister from some obscure country again..." and Bernie introduces him to the man he's talking to, the prime minister of Romania  Nice one, Martin...

Not a bad race, after all. Most of the passing was for positions towards the back.

Heidfeld had to be pumped by passing Alonso. Years ago, the prediction was that he'd have a seat at McLaren-Mercedes, but it never came to be. And yet, there he was passing the double world champ for 4th place. Best moment of the race...

Hamilton's got the right stuff. Just a few more points-scoring races to beat Jackie Stewart, who finished in the points in his first 6 races, amazingly.

Coulthard couldn't catch a break this weekend. Nice driving, though.

Three drivers tied for the driver's title lead? This is a first!

Hamilton's my new hero. Can't believe how many historic firsts he's pulling in these few races. I'm positive we've got a future World Champion here, possibly even this year's champ. Very impressive performance from Massa, as well, guess he's finally coming into his own, now that he's out of Schumi's shadow. I must say, I almost envy his talent, I'd love to be that good!

I think he's already got Stewart beat, personally, with his three podiums, but I think he's shaping up to absolute shatter him, with not only six points races, but possibly six podiums!

What I love is his quietly confident attitude, he knows he can do well but also doesn't come off sounding like he'll do it all in one season and knows that it will be tough and he has a lot to learn. Just the right attitude.

It's hilarious.

"It's hard to forget there are 21 other drivers out there"

:D

Yeh, I can't believe they said that (or something like that anyway). It's annoying, even for a British person who wants to see Lewis Hamilton do well!

Ah was a good race for a number of drivers, Heidfeld is doing fantasticly well so far, 15 points so far, that's only 8 off his 2006 score. Maybe he can win a race this season, just hope BMW can keep up the R&D side of things. Alonso was a sitting duck during the second stint although he should have got 4th.

Button's luck goes from bad to worse getting span around by his friend DC, who whilst we are on the scot, had a fantastic drive untill his drive shaft went ka-put. Felt sorry for Davidson too who could easially have got up to the Top 10 on the one stopper, still, the Honda bosses back in Japan must be hovering above the fire option on Nick Fry..

So, 3 drivers leading the championship, smart money is probably on Kimi but when Massa puts his mind to it, he can more than match the Finn, should be a very intresting Europen leg.

Oh and finally, Hamilton WILL win Silverstone.

what a race , I jumped when Nick passed Alonso :D:D , I had some Alonso Fans on my left I just gave them a smile :D:D..... and I had my BMW cap signed by Nick , sad to see Kubica having problems with the car again ,the filler cap was stuck open which meant losing downforce on strights and high speed conrenrs

Fantastic race. There was some really close racing and enough overtaking to keep me happy. The result makes me very happy, too. :D

I was cheering when Nick passed Fernando. 👍

Kimi was a little disappointing, but he lost the race in the first corner when he got stuck behind Alonso. In the end he finished 10 seconds behind Massa, which is what he lost behind Alonso, so…

Massa had a pretty easy race once the first stint was done, Hamilton lost too much time in the middle stint. Lewis is really impressive, but his performance really seems to be affected when he gets a new set of tyres, like he just can’t get settled in.

Alonso was pretty poor. Half a second off Lewis all weekend, and being (legitimately) beaten by a BMW. Surprised he struggled that much with the car balance. Yeah, the car looked twitchy, but Alonso is the guy you expect to be able to drive on through those sort of issues and put in a good performance. But, just like USA last year, he was nowhere.

Nice job to Trulli, he put in a decent race and had some good passes.

Really good job by Red Bull, except for the part where all four of their cars retired.

Another month to the next race. :indiff:

Webber was the one with the fuel filler cap open.

Watched the replay of the race off and on and I have to say I am still looking forward to the rest of this year. 👍 I had been looking forward to the year for a while because of the multitude of unknowns coming in. 👍

The battle between Ferrari and McLaren-Mercedes is going to be a great one all year, especially if Massa can consistently perform well. It should make for a wonderful year of racing and a constant tug-o-war for the lead in the Constructor's Championship. 👍

Lewis Hamilton is very impressive so far and I expect that will keep up for the rest of the year. Alonso was a disappointment this race, but like Blake I was cheering Nick on when he passed Alonso. 👍

Don't really have any more comments because I did not watch the race closely enough to pick up on much else. Bring on whatever round of the championship is next. 👍

Ugh those bloody ITV commentators. Theres only a handful of laps left and hamilton laps like .5 seconds quicker than massa: "HAMILTON IS ON A CHARGE! CAN HE WIN THE RACE?" no he cant, massa was just stuck in traffic.

Kimi seemed a bit off the pace last night, even once he got past alonso after his first stop he didnt really real in hamilton like I thought he would. Massa should be able to hold his own against kimi this season, apparently he is on the phone to Michael Schumacher before and after every race aswell getting 'breifed'. . .

Webber was the one with the fuel filler cap open.
Kubica's was stuck open too, but as he was basically driving round on his own for the whole race, you never saw him.

Robert Kubica, BMW Sauber (6th):
“All in all this has been a very positive weekend for me and the team. This is my first time in the points this season, so I am happy to finish, happy to score these points and I know we will get there. Unfortunately the flap over the fuel filler wouldn't close and you lose quite a lot of downforce with this. I was losing time in the high speed corners and under braking. It opened at the beginning of the race and there was no way we could fix it. The good thing is the pace is there, the reliability is almost there and so now we will look forward to see what we can do in Barcelona.”

BMW is going to have a say on who is going to be champion this year , if the performe like this in a couple of races where the loose points to them ;) should make things intersting
