It was a hard decision to vote on which VW. Had to choose the Scirocco and the R32. Wish I hadn't nominated the R32, if not I would gladly vote for the GTi. :D

Well what's the difference between the GTI and the R32, you still voted a Golf

BMW 123d... two words: aluminum diesel... a 204 hp turbodiesel that weighs just as much (or as little) as a gas engine? Say goodbye to porky-butt diesel jokes... the one big issue I've had with BMW diesel models is gone... goodbye nose-heavy stance... hello fun!

Hi!

I voted for the Gumpert Apollo because it is a really outstanding car in the "supersport" area. And I voted as Niky the BMW 123d for its innovation.
When they manage to let Diesels sound like gas engines, then I would buy it. :sly:

Greetings
Matthias

Boo, the R8 and 911 are coming 2nd, disappointed.:p

Hey, I'm kinda surprised that the Veyron isn't getting more votes. Two years ago it was a landslide car, my guess is that now the novelty has worn off, people are looking elsewhere.

I would have voted for it but I knew I was never going to get one, and novelty hasn't worn off, it's just too expensive

Voted for the Audi R8 and the Mercedes CL63 Black Edition.

The Audi because I happened to meet one face to face earlier this year and loved it to bits, by far the most comfortable car I've sat in and a beautiful car at that too!

The Mercedes, because yet again I've seen one in the flesh. The noise of this thing is biblical I would buy one of them just for the noise it's that good.

To be fair, two years ago the only competition it had was a 50 year old Citroen which only had exposure to mainstream America through a Chevy Chase movie. That's quite different from taking on the landslide winner of the overall event, or its shiny new competitor.

Damn, looking at how the voting is going now, I wish I had voted for the R8 instead of the Scirocco. The R8 deserves to win so much more than that warmed-over Merc.

That makes me wonder: What happens if there is a tie for second place? I can see that happening quite easily between any two of the top 3.

I know I'm saying this late, but I went C63 and...I can't believe it...911.

It's interesting how close the R8 and 911, are, though. I'm actually kind of rooting for the Porsche this round. But, what if there is a tie? Do we have something like a 2-day vote-off? or would it be something like just putting the three of them in there?

Two day vote-off would be good. Simple poll, get everyone to vote one or the other. Putting three in would be difficult as YSSMAN has already drawn up a "cup" format and it wouldn't allow for another "team".

We'd do a run-off just like we did two years ago with one of the countries. We'd lock the voting down to a shorter time as well, but at the very least, it would be interesting. The fight between the 911 and R8 is just plain epic.

There are some dormant accounts that can be summoned to give the R8 the victory it deserves.

Voted A4 for exterior and interior. Voted S-class for the interior.

The Veyron is like drinking your wine from a cup of solid gold because you can afford it, it is the embodiment of a rich middle-eastern oil tycoon and doesn't tick many boxes for car enthusiasts other than straight line speed.

I hope the R8 beats the 911 at least.

A little more than a day left and the R8/911 fight is a two-way tie once again. Who will break this deadlock?
