The offical pics should debut soon, but it pretty much looks similar to the current G35 SC, just with the new G35 styling bits. The big news is the VQ37, the enlarged version of the VQ35 that will probably be saddled with turbochargers in the GT-R.

We'll see what comes of it. I'd still rather have a BMW 328i, or better yet a Monaro/GTO once they hit the streets...

I'm sorry, but I think the new G looks like a booger that was refined in a wind tunnel. Nice and smooth, sure, but still covered with goobernostrom.

And I seriously hope Infiniti started designing this car before TVR designed the Sagaris. I literally said when I saw that picture "WTF. This isn't supposed to be a TVR."

The GTR still could be a 3.8, remember the 380RS

Reports I have read cited that the next GT-R will have a Twin-Turbocharged version of the VQ37 to be found in the G37 Spot Coupe. Its hard to know for sure, but I'd assume that much from Nissan...

If V36/G37 will have a VQ37 I feel Nissan will go VQ38 for the GTR.

No, Nissan under Ghosn is a smart company. They will phase in the new VQ37 in several different models, meaning they only have to produce the basics for one engine.

but the 380RS is a 3.8L VQ anyway, if they already made it they might as well put the biggest and the best in their flagship sports car.

Oh well soon we will know :D

...Well under that train of thought they may as well cram in the VQ40 from the Frontier/Pathfinder...

Here it is!

Looks great in the front and sides. The taillights are nice too. Definately the best looking G35/G37 ever.

However, the rear bumber could be better. It looks better than it probably should, but its still not up to the level of the rest of the car.

While the sedan is a rather sexy model, the G37 leaves me feeling confused, and a bit alienated. Its like I've grown up expecting so much, and yet I'm left with a mutated Lexus SC40 up front and a melted Acura RSX out back, draped over your standard G35 Sport Coupe body. Nice one Nissan...

The extra power will be nice, 330 BHP, due to the enlarged stroke, but I can't see it drastically improving performance all that much. The car is still heavy, still larger than the 3-series, lacks a cog in the transmission, and contains a growing number of computer add-ons that are neither necessary nor add much to the performance (overall) of the car. Once again Nissan, you surprise us.

Best of all, price should be a deciding factor for a lot of people, and chances are that Nissan will make everyone happy. I wouldn't stretch it too far over the current price of the sedan, a few dollars here and there, still well-short of the BMW 335i coupe. But, people still like the idea of a four-seat 350Z, and if that is your preference, then the G37 is your ride of choice...

Am I convinced that it is better than the 335i? Nope. BMW still has the formula, and they are running away with it. But with a growing field of competitors (Lexus and Cadillac are due to add coupe versions of the IS and CTS later), its hard to say that the G37 is the best choice out there...

But for the money, you probably aren't going to find anything as satisfying... Unless you're like me and you're willing to lower your standards for a Mustang, Challenger, or Camaro...

Ding ding ding!! We have a winner! That's exactly what I was thinking. It's a technical improvement at the cost of an aesthetic failure. The previous design could have been just about unchanged and it would still look current, but if they had to make any changes, this was not the right approach.

Seeing these pics, I like the G35 better actually. I always thought the G35 looked really good but the G37 looks too much like other cars. THe chassis reminds me of the new GT-R in a way while the headlights really do scream Sagaris. The front bumper reminds me of the Lexus SC430 and like YSSMAN said earlier, the taillights like alot of those of an Acura RSX.
