Hamilton in 15th, Raikkonen in 14th, and I'm pretty sure Kubica got knocked out too...

This is going to be an incredibly exciting Q3.:)

As every race goes past, I dislike Brundle & Allen more and more as commentators.

Throwing a fit of excitement over Hamilton being 15th, and the implications of it, when Massa and Raikkonen were 12th and 14th respectively.

Of course, as usual, one minute later, they realise, and awkwardly acknowledge it. Then are too busy repeating themselves over Hamilton they barely bat an eyelid at Massa moving into 10th.

I really hope the Beeb get someone else next year.

They really need to stick to calling the race, and keep the stupid opinions to themselves.



Very, very interesting qualifying session today, I'd love to see an STR on the pole.....
 
Good job by Seb, I bet Alex's face has exploded wherever he is.

With 3 contenders trapped within beginners outcome, race should not disappoint.
They will start with heavy load of fuel for sure, and should the track dry-up a bit different set-ups could lead to major pace differences. Can't wait for tomorrow.

So great to see Vettel on top! I wonder, shouldn’t he start wondering about his recent so called “promotion” to the big sister team. Or should they eventually fit that Italian engine back into “Mothership”?

Is Bourdais a lock to stay with STR next year or is his ride in question?
 
Heavy Rain should be required on all F1 races. Just too much excitment and less of the same car-following car that we see on the dry.

A considerable lol for all the Massa haters, including some of my close friends. I will wait though, because anything can happen tomorrow.

Vettel my friend... somewhere, somehow Senna is smiling at you. 👍

Kimi and Lewis have the script ready to crash in the first chicane. Will be fun to watch those two.

And one more thing... starting positions on the wet always shake up after the start. Somebody will start badly ad somebody will jump ahead. My bet is alonso for jumping and Kovaleinen for struggling (at the start).
 
Top job by STR once again, they really are looking like the team most likely to give BMW a headache for the remainder of the season now. Bourdais should keep his drive if he keeps this up too.

Oh and great job from Webber too.
 
First off, congratulations Sebastian Vettel on getting pole! 👍 :cheers: Excellent job mate! I was happy to see him get pole in these conditions. Also great job by Sebastien Bourdais to get fourth.

Next, I have a bit of an idea on Ferrari's and Lewis Hamilton's lack of pace. The SPEED commentators mentioned that the race tomorrow has a good chance of being dry. If that is the case, then I believe Ferrari and McLaren have set the cars up to be better in dry conditions and thought that the setup would be good enough to get their drivers in a good position for tomorrow's race. Assuming that is the case, it worked for Felipe Massa, but not the other two drivers.

No matter what the case is, this is shaping up to be a very interesting race. 👍
 
I'd like to see Bourdais' split times on the lap he spun, too bad he was just beaten at the end for third. Would have been vindication for him to participate in the post-qualifying interview. STR has really added some excitement to what has been a very interesting year in F1 already. Some of the actual races have been pretty boring, though.
 
RedBull 09 is going to be epic. Most likely, this is going to be the race of the year

I wish someone could of bumped massa out of Q3 though
 
Congrats Vettel on his 1st pole of his career. Great job by Webber and Bourdais to qualify 3rd and 4th respectively. 3 Red Bulls on the top 4 seems too good to be true.... :D:tup: Anyways, would really hope for it to rain tomorrow for Vettel to pull away nicely. Hamilton, Kimi and Kubica really did disappoint as they fail to make it into Q3. I think the commentator said that their driving style really did affect them in Q2 (and was most obvious when they spun out at Ascari)

Lets see now, I remembered Piquet, Couldthard/Webber and Nakajima took the short cut. :) Could be more though.....
 
This is going to be great tomorrow. Even if it doesn't rain, it's still gonna be an unusual podium. And if it rains..hehe..:cheers:

O and GO FISI for making it out of Q3 for the first time for Force india and out doing Kimi and Hamilton. 12th isn't bad.

and I really wish to see Massa P10 Q2 Lap Onboard Cam. He managed a brilliant lap.
Vettel is awesome too! He is young and very talented and def Toro Rosso is better than Redbull at the moment. I hope he wont change his seat to redbull :)

lol, that's something to be sad about? STR is faster than RBR here because of their ferrari engine.

RBR overall, is the better team.

this is the first time i recall, an STR driver out qualifying mark webber too. i might be wrong though

Yeah. Toro Rosso are going down the tubes next year most likely. Aren't customer chassis' going to be banned from next season on? Red Bull is the much safer bet. Hopefully they see that the Ferrari Engine is much better than the Renault that they have now and switch over, but I'm not counting on it.
 
Don’t know how the TR rumored “for sale” status will be affected by their recent stunning results?

Add to the equation the new technical regulations for 2009 that will eventually lead to a new or modified hierarchy... who knows...

"Don’t change a winning team" comes to mind thought.
