Good drive by Kimi, great drive by Kubica. Overall I think Heikki made the best of a bad situation and Lewis could've done with a little more luck at the pitstop. But at least it makes things closer now.

It could easily be a Ferrari 1-2, but PM wanna play drifting. I will LMAO if Ferrari lost the constructor by a few points...

Well as I predicted, it didn't rain at Sepang. In the 10 years of GP at Sepang, it only rain once back in 2001. Amazing that it does usually rain cause of the tropical weather and the monsoon season. Bah, stupid "tok bomoh"

As for the race, interesting as it is, still ashame that there wasn't a fight for the lead or the top 3 like in Melbourne. But the battle between Hamilton and Trulli as well as Alonso and Webber did make up for it. Shame that both STR didn't make it to the finish line again (how bad is their reliability?) and Massa simply made one of the stupidest mistake when it matters. Sad thing is, he's so talented and yet when hes over himself, he threw it all away...... Good job by Kubica and Heidfeld on finishing 2nd and 6th. BMW are a force to be reckon with in Europe :trouble:

Bah, now it starts to rain in my place, and the sound of thunder is really scaring me right now...... :banghead:

I love the way McLaren's high-technology parts were referred to as spinners and hubcaps by Martin Brundle. Brilliant!

Spinner and hubcaps in F1, for life!

Congratulations Kimi.., i feel sorry for Massa.., brilliant drive by Kubica and Kovalainen, P2 and P3 respectively..,

Who's going to beat them? McLaren can't score points this year, remember? BMW-Sauber might stand a chance, but only if Ferrari remain as consistently inconsitent as they have been this year.

watching the f1 on tv now. Is a delayed broadcast here. Just got thinking with massa having twice now spun himself out on his own accord (first corner aus gp and crashed it later on in the same gp, and now spun out yet again), if he keeps going will ferrari keep him onboard next year?

Nope, he will be replaced by Sebastian Vettel. ;)

Can't say thats a bad move. Vettel's definitely a future top driver if he gets into the right team. Really wish his car becomes more reliable this year so he can show what he can do with the car.

I would love to see Vettel in a "real" Ferrari.

The last man I want to see driving a Ferrari is Alonso.

Yeah, but that is if Flavio Briatore would let him go again and I think Alonso wouldn't leave Renault. He seems to be the top guy at Renault and have stamp his authority, where if he was in a different team such as McLaren or Ferrari, things would get ugly if nothing goes his way......

Agreed, Alonso in a Ferrari would definitely lead to a few more championships under his belt but it would really cause too many problems and harm the team. Vettel would probably be my #1 pick and would say in 1-2 years he will surely be a Massa replacement but I wouldn't mind seing Rosberg and Button could definitely use a break for once even though I can't see him ever racing a Ferrari or Mclaren.

question i always had.

where do Varsha, Hobbs, Matchett annonce from?

I know Peter Windsor is at the gp, but are the other guys watching from a tv at SPEEDTV studios?

They do it from the Speed studio in Charlotte, NC, IIRC, the only races that they were announcing live at track was the USGP.

McLaren can score points this season, that was just a rumor put out there after they were penalized the $100 million for the Stepneygate scandal.

Vettel is in a great spot at the moment.

if (i mean when)DC leaves red bull at the end of the year, I'm sure Vettel is first on the list for that seat.

If Vettel doesnt get any offers from any top teams then he can at least take the Red Bull car for a year and then move to a top team. As long as he qualifies good and doesnt make too many driver errors then he is definitely on his way one of the top teams. I would love that team to be Ferrari.

i think massa still has another year on his contract, but when he does leave Ferrari it will be very interesting to see where he ends up. He could possibly take over a Barrichello's seat at Honda. That would be funny

Well the thing is that Massa is great at going fast. As we've seen, he can be faster than Kimi. His only problem is that he sometimes lacks adequate car control, that of which Kimi is the master.

I really feel bad for Williams, Toyota, and Heidfeld, though. Williams had a nightmare weekend. Heidfeld and Trulli also would've had awesome position if they didn't get tangled in the first corner. I still think Toyota should've picked up Sutil instead of Glock, and I think that's showing.

To be fair Omnis, Glock was kinda innocent in the collision with Rosberg..

I'm glad to see Webber in the points, he drove a fine race holding off Hamilton for a fair chunk of the race. Trulli also put in a stellar performance, I was half expecting him to go to sleep halfway through.

A dull race made interesting by the post-race comments. Martin Brundle talking about Kimi Raikkonen on the podium:

I love the way he looks so underwhelmed. He's had his fun, and now he'll be thinking *puts on mock Finnish accent* "Now I have to talk to the media I think so", and he'll hate the next hour while he explains what went on; and then he'll be out of here smiling again.

Post-race interview with Hamilton:

Louise Goodman: What was going through your mind when you were sitting there waiting for the mechanics to sort the wheel out?

Lewis Hamilton: Could do with a beer.

Kimi mumbled something in the press conference about how champagne should go in the mouth and not in the eye, but I didn't quite catch it. All gold though.

I loved how he got it in his eye and then just walked off. Didn't care about the photo of the 3 of them just walked off.

Yeah, I know. I don't know if it's because of his hand or what, though, because Trulli made him look like garbage.

Yeah I forgot about that eye thing, Kimi should close his eyes when they spray the champagne, He looked really pissed off, was quite funny because he is usually ice cool...

I loved the scrap with Alonso and Coulthard 👍

I think he said he'd rather have champagne in his mouth rather than his eye.

No, it's just Kimi that can be slower from time to time.

Probably because he's carrying more fuel than Massa.

I believe that spin was some sort of mechanical failure; Massa was quoted after the race as saying he had no idea what had happened.
What? Where are you getting your information? That's incorrect.
Hmmm ... I was under the impression that McLaren were fined $120 million, had to have this year's car thoroughly examined and were excluded from the '07 and '08 manufacturers titles as punishment for Spygate.
