So what do you guys think? I will be looking forward to seeing the night race at Singapore. Another thing is, this year's European GP will be held at Valencia. No more Nürburgring? :indiff:

Nurburgring and Hockenheim will alternate for the German GP.
Yeah, it was simply known as the "European Grand Prix" this year because Hockenheim wouldn't let them use the name "German Grand Prix".

I'm also looking forward to the night race. I may even go depending upon how busy I am, but I think my workload will ge tthe better of me.

So what do you guys think?
For the most part it's all the same "usual suspects" we have come to admire or dislike over the years, and a sad reminder that there will be no F1 racing in the United States... despite having a long history in motorsports, and arguably more motorsport fans than any other country in the world... and possibly more F1 fans than some of those other host countries... but what can you do. :indiff:

For me though, the one race that I am definitely the most excited to see is the Singapore Grand Prix in late September!

There are so many compelling stories to this event. Not only is it the first F1 street race in Singapore, but there are so few street course events left these days. Not only will this be one of the few times an F1 race is run counter-clockwise, but it will mark the first time ever in the history of Formula One that a race has been held at night! 👍

Adding to the drama of this event, is that it is late in the season, so with just three other races following the Singapore GP, the results from this race will likely have an important impact on the championship standings.

The only thing that could make the Singapore GP any more dramatic would be if a typhoon hit during the race weekend (after all, late September is still right in the heart of typhoon season!)

i think the tracks should be switched around.
i.e not always start with Australia as the opening race of the season

ps. the tracks with an ** sign mean that they may not be in that order

SauberBMW – Can you please not fill this forum with mis-information!

12 2008 European Grand Prix (Valencia) ** 22 - 24 Aug

Another thing is, this year's European GP will be held at Valencia. No more Nürburgring? :indiff:

Whoa, just noticed this. Surely it won't be at the old Valencia track which all the teams use for testing? I mean, it's a nice track and all but it's way out of date, reminds me of the 80's.

And why are Spain getting another race, because Alonso won 2 championships in a row? I guess if Lewis had won, the series would've turned in to the F1 British Championship (atleast we would've been back to Donington :)).

Valencia is a street circuit, and yes it sucks that a country has two races, I thought we'd done away with that?

Going to be an interesting season, although it's a shame Hockenheim is back, it's so boring now. Nurb all the way.

Hockenheim always produces brilliant overtaking, though… I love it.

Oh what. I was hoping there would be no French GP. It's the most boring F1 race ever in my view. Dam it! :irked:

Yes, Spain got an extra round because of the Rise of Alonso, just as Germany had an extra one when Michael Schumacher carried the Number One. And Hamilton may have hampered efforts to get a Grand Prix in London; his popularity has brought about renewed interest in the UK, so more people go to Silverstone.

But the Valencia track is a street circuit (if they're going to work the "two GPs for recurring Champion's home country" thing, the European round should always be a street circuit, methinks), and it doesn't look half bad.

European round will alternate with the Nurb' and Valencia probably...

Nope it's a contract agreement between Nurb and Hockenheim. The latter just chose to be :censored:s..

So if Kimi wins again 2009 will have a GP of Finland?

Do I smell F1's first snow-race? :D

I know there's the agreement... But what will happen on Nurb'-GP years with Valencia? "Catalunyian GP" for Barcelona, a la San Marino GP?

Nurb will take the title of German GP. I can't see any other option personally.

I wish, but I don't think we have any suitable tracks. And building one is probably out of the question. :grumpy:

How about a temp track on a frozen lake? Should make for an interesting race.

Use Alastaro, hairpin at either end of the strip and split the lanes into the straights....
