^ As a Subie-owner myself, I am not liking this at all. It look more like a Chrysler Pacifica mashed with Audi A3, Daewoo Lanos and Mazdaspeed3/MPS if you ask me, plus the interior is a wannabe B9 Tribeca. And it looks like it has been downgraded from every angle compared to my '06 "B9 'Rex" (take the brake calipers for example). :yuck: :grumpy: :ouch: :dunce: :indiff:

Wow. They have utterly destroyed a car that was once considered to be good-looking by most people with every progressive 'update.' This not only retracts the Impreza from my mind in every conceivable way, its to the point where its there only to be made fun of. I mean, if we were to compare this one to the Universal monsters, this one would be Frankenstein...

...Its like they sewed together the Camry, the Mazda 3, the Outlander, and the European Honda Civic...

Ewww.

But hey, the interior looks good...

Am I the only one here that does not see a stereo? Or a slot for a CD? Sure, if it's a bare bones model, but this is a WRX?
 
^ I think the screen tilts forward and outward to reveal the DVD/CD slot in the dash. One important missing feature here in the Western world: No iPod connector?

I think it would fit right in with Kia's lineup from like 5 years ago. Subaru! Put down the ugly stick!
 
I can dig it from the A-pillar back (aside from the taillights, which really over-did the whole "altezza" thing), but that front fascia is very gaudy and Chinese-looking.

True, to me it looks like they tried to pull off a Alfa Romeo style car but it turned out more like a Kia.

Atleast it still has the hardware..... oh and red tail lights please..
 
Anyone remembers that "sporty" Rio that Kia came up with a few years ago? It had a hood scoop, a wing and gold wheels, which made it look like a cheap WRX STi... Subaru thought it was pretty funny... I wonder what Kia's thinking right now.

BT-> Anyways, I have a bad feeling that this will be the beginning of the end of the Impreza model lineup for Subaru. :scared:

-> After Subaru is so into of being "upscale" model (just look at the Outbacks, the Limited trims for Impreza WRX/STi/Forester, and the thing that they Legacy 2.5GT Spec.B wasn't that sporty enough). Infact, Subaru is trying too hard to inject its "upscale" image more than VW, Hyundai and Acura combined. I am so disappointed at Subaru, they neglected the only thing that they made some bank, being sporty plus practical in a way that is fun to own and to drive at the same time (the WRX series). :grumpy:

-> And I also thought that my "B9 'Rex" wagon [GG7] was ugly. I think, that this is the ugliest car since the first Fiat Multipla, Subies own B9 Tribeca and the Pontiac Aztek. :yuck:

He knows that (Fred didn't mean that was the Rio), Now Subaru is looking similar to that Kia model. When before Kia was copying Subaru

Ultrashot-> Yes, I'm aware of that, but this is the first time that we saw a semi-official, no blurred/cut pics, fully uncamouflaged, 2008 Impreza WRX in the flesh. Those sites that you list above doesn't have that (but I do admit that Impreza.de, came the closest, but its still wasn't enough). :)

-> And as most of my friends at NASIOC are still in disbelief, that thread now has 21 pages (at an avg. of 15 posts per 30mins.). Most of the hardcore fans are stil screaming the "It's still a fake!" and "Those are still 'chopped!" But after I saw the 4th pic, then I'm convinced, this is the beginning of the end. My words are not final thou, I still have to wait for the STi concept (aka. pre-production model) to be released this fall or in GT5's spoiler pics.

Yeah, I now have NO REASON not to show my mom an Impreza, because I like the current model!

Still very very very very very UGLY.
 
Looks like I'm the only one who likes it. Maybe Subaru will give me one since apparently no one else wants it. :D
 
Wow, that is truely hideous. And I thought the current model was ugly...that grille is just putrid.
 
And people complained about the Alfa-Romeo designed front of the current model?!

That is ugly. The front looks like some cheap-ass Asian vehicle, and the back looks like a ricer's dream.

So, we have a fugly-ass Subaru, and a Volvo-wanna-be Lancer coming.


Toyota? Yes, I'd like to go ahead and reserve whatever it is your concept is.
 
Well... the rumors were that the new WRX STi would be a three door...

Maybe in the transition from... this... to that... some of the ugliness will get undone?

Uh, yeah, about that...

I think you're going to have to turn to Nissan and Honda. One major advantage the NextSX and especially the GT-R have over the Not-a-Supra is that they're actually going to be built.

Unless you want to stick with Understeer-and-Undefeatable-Stability-Control-R-Us, aka Lexus.
 
boo the hatchback. i want another iteration of the sedan. i cant beleive my eyes. the similarity to the kia is uncanny. i beleive this is a sad day for subaru. but its alright, when their demographic suddenly changes and new car sales plummit they will see the light once again.
 
That is one ugly car. The grille looks like one from the were-car on Futurama.
