Fisichella is a joke. Perhaps he needs an eye exam after THAT start. Toyota are so much better without RSC, I don't miss him. Iceman reclaimed P4 from Alonso too easily, imho a flat out horsepower advantage at that speed. Engine freeze be damned, Ferrari has at least 25 hp extra according to Steve Matchett.

Nyagh, Live Timing won't work! The internet connection at my unihasben sporadic at best all weekend and while I could watch the qualifying sessions, the Java application won't load. Grr. Argh.

Woooooooooooooo! Nice pass. 👍

Is he 3 stopping though?

Congrats to Massa for his 3rd win at Turkey

Great Finish for Hamilton, you can see that Mclaren has work to do to get the setup on the softs right.

Raikonen did well to come back from his bad start. All he needs is points and with a nine point lead on Hamilton 3rd would still be a good result.

Congrats to Massa on winning the Turkish GP for the 3rd time in a row! Did a brilliant weekend and manage to keep his consistency during the race. Hamilton did a great job getting 2nd, as it was probably going to be a Ferrari 1-2 if McLaren hadn't make that 3 pit stop strategy. BMW did their usual scrapping 4th and 5th respectively while Alonso manages 6th in the ever struggling Renault.

How did HK fall behind so much???? Sorry, I felt asleep a bit at the beginning....
Well the commentator said he picked up a puncture early in the race and was forced to do a pit stop. Ever since then he was struggling to make up places in the race. Its a shame really cause he could be up there with the Ferraris and Hamilton.....

Puncture, and ensuing pit stop to fix it.

Yes, by way of Iceman's front wing which was broken. He couldn't be bothered to pit for new one because of time involved. He then set fastest lap, incredible! Asked if it bothered him, "Nah, not too much." Alonso bumps Rossberg for P9 in WDC standings, damn that timing gear failure in Barcelona. Good on Webber, do I suspect any collaboration between Renault & RBR? Sharkfins, etc. Maybe not but their 'coincidental' performance gains seem odd... Next, the crown jewel of F1, Monaco. This technical track might negate Ferrari's speed advantage, giving Alonso a better shot. We'll see. Striking how VMM struggle after their most successful year in a decade? Wonder why...

Hold on to that Muzaffar. I think Heikki did the most outstanding job, coming back from the back, scoring points. If there's one driver I really want to win a race at the moment, it's Heikki. The lad has been having so much bad luck (Barcelona crash, puncture now), he more than deserves a podium, and that's what he should've gotten in Turkey today...

No points for Toyota, thanks to Trulli's lousy start...but then again, it never seemed any of the Toyota drivers had a chance of a point scoring position, also Glock showed a better side of him today, with some nice moves on Heikki.

Great job by Alonso as well, that 6th place must feel very good for both him and the team after the dissapointing Barcelona race. His teammate however, was nowhere. Once again, Piquet screwed up. He starts bad, and slides everywhere...Man, I cannot believe Flavio was really doubting between Piquet and his other drivers last year for a seat...

Massa is back, finally. It's so good to see him back in contention for the title, although for a moment there I really thought it was in the bag for Hamster, great driving by him as well.

Another point scoring position for Webber today, what a consistency in the RBR 👍

Yeah yeah. I know Heikki did a good job coming back to 12th, but he should be really been up there you know. Also, I think he could got up to 6th if he went to a 1 pit stop strategy. But in the end, it was an unfortunate day for him.... :guilty: But don't worry, he will make a comeback in Monaco if I do say so myself. McLaren has been the better team in Monaco, so who knows, maybe he can get a win there or a podium finish if lady luck is with him...... ;)

I 'feel' you BRAM. If Piquet jr doesn't get with it he could find his seat taken by Renault tester, Romain Grosjean. Who took 2nd in the GP2 race earlier.

im planning on watching the re-run of today's race on speed (missed it) is it a good watch?

There is definitely some decent racing going on from time to time - So yes, definitely not a bad race..

I'm glad that Sebastian Vettel managed to finish. It would have been nice if Bourdais could have as well.

If you enjoy the worlds greatest drivers, yes of course. Not too exciting though. Watch for HK trying to get past TG. Highpoint. Massa was flawless. Listen to pit radio to Trulli to get after P9, his reply "I'm pushing like hell!"

No, actually he said something like "I'm pushing like a hound" or something... But meh, maybe I didn't pay close attention enough. :indiff: But it is a good race to watch and you won't be disappointed. ;)

Very good race, lots of good battles through those last 3 turns and Lewis' pass on Massa was very good, even if in vain. The 3-stopper worked for Lewis, I doubt he'd have got 2nd on a 2 stop: a) Because he'd have been slower than Kimi in qualifying with more fuel on board, b) the car, or, how he drives the car, doesn't like the soft tyres.

Hard luck on Kova, he could've picked up 4/5 points today were it not for the puncture. Race of the season so far.

while Alonso manages 6th in the ever struggling Renault.

Ever struggling? He finished 6th, best of the rest...

Also, I think he could got up to 6th if he went to a 1 pit stop strategy.

It couldn't be a one-stop, simply because his first stop came on lap 2. You can think, but there's no way it's possible - when he came for his last stop, long after everyone else completed their second stop, he was only 8th, and that was on the better tyre. Starting on Prime, there was no way to one-stop on the Options...

Dunno, he was far on-par with Hamilton and the bunch, but was heavier than any - even though he fueled up a little on that puncture-stop - but he still had fuel for a few laps more than the others around him. A podium was definitely on the cards...

But yeah - best race so far. At last I wasn't tempted to switch over to Indianapolis Pole day. Or Darlington.

Metar, what was your purpose in quoting me in #85? I'm a little perplexed, I wasn't part of the 1 stop fantasy but repying to a post about HK's puncture a la KR... As far as 1 stoppers I can't remember any at this day and age that were successful. I just decided to let it go, kinda like 'ever struggling Renault'. And their engines... that one in Spain was almost overdue considering it's sparkling reliability. Good luck with exams...

Good to see Massa is back on track. I hope he can keep the good work so he can fight for the title too.

Oh my god will you let it go? They have the second best car in the field, it’s hardly a bad performance by any standards. Besides which, it appears that they are actually making gains on Ferrari, without the help of Mr. Alonso.

Also, considering the wildly fluctuating performance of McLaren in recent years (2004 and 2006 – both after a strong championship challenge in the previous year) the 2007 to 2008 transition seems to be a pretty solid run of good form.

If Piquet jr doesn't get with it he could find his seat taken by Renault tester, Romain Grosjean. Who took 2nd in the GP2 race earlier.

I think Grosjean would be better served by having the full season of GP2. If he can consecutively take the F3 Euro title, the GP2 Asia title, and the GP2 title it would be quite the run and would surely earn him a solid place in F1 next year (surely with Renault) with a full winter of testing and without the pressure to deliver when you’ve taken the place of an under performing driver.

Besides, F1 cars will be very different to drive next year so if you’re planning on bringing in a rookie next year it won’t help their development to give them 3 or 4 races in an uncompetitive car that is wildly different to what they’ll be driving next year.

I'm glad that Sebastian Vettel managed to finish. It would have been nice if Bourdais could have as well.

Hopefully with the STR3 they can begin to pull together some semblance of a season and get some decent finishes.

Good to see Massa is back on track. I hope he can keep the good work so he can fight for the title too.

Yeah, he’s had a nice little run. Swapping victories with Kimi for the last 4 races, but I’m not sure if he can keep it up away from the type of track he typically performs well at. But for Ferrari it’s a very handy buffer they’re building up in the constructors championship. :)

On a side note, two dogs made it on track during Gp2. Bruno Senna hit one, destroying his right front suspension and the dog...
Blake, I'm actually referring to the golden boy's performance. Looks like last years 9 podiums/4 wins were a fluke. He can't copy setups anymore. I agree with Fernando, VMM doesn't have winning mentality.
