There have been quite a few spy-shots taken the past few days...

Here is the illustration based on the spy shots seen in the link:

...If thats what the Vectra/Aura will end up looking like, I hope GM has their middle finger ready when they give Toyota the big-one...

Now, if we can just convince Ford to bring over the Mondeo, then the American domination will be complete...

That concept looks really good and should be the direction Vauxhall should be heading in instead of this curvy soft look they are trying to pull off at the moment, the new headlights they are putting on the Vectras and Signums at the moment are horrible... bring back the angular chunky style! like the Holdens of this world and whilst they are at it totally redo the new Corsa, it looks nasty like a slightly melted Astra, VXR or no VXR. I own the old style Corsa and it looks so much better!

...And I love the new Corsa. There hasn't been a small car I've wanted that bad in quite some time...

I don't really like that illustration and I hope the concept photos are more accurate. The G35 seems to have influenced the concept of the photos but there are subtle differences. The lines from front to back are much more straight (the fenders of the g35 are more curved).
Also, the levels from front to back are different, it's almost like this car is constantly leaning forward.

I'm impressed with the large opening up front on the photos (one reason I didn't like the illustration).

The 3/4 rear-view picture looks like a honda accord coupe.

The front view looks like the GTR concept (not so much the G35).

The overall appearance is awesome. Looks like GM may be using more of the open-mouth look on the front end. With the C5-> C6 change in the same direction I wouldn't be suprised to see the actual car produced look more like the concept photos and not that Camry based illustration.
I hope that's how it works out... :scared:
Oh well.

Btw, after looking at some of the spied shots... I'd have to say we may be getting a Camry look-a-like, which isn't great to me since I don't really like the style on the front end of new camrys. The bottom of the front on each side looked a little weak. I doubt the concept's aggressive appearance could be done without some kind of body kit for the skirts and bumpers.

The current Vectra isn't a bad-looking car by any means, but this, at least in my opinion, is an improvement over the current car. With the increased quality, performance, and value, I'd be willing to bet that this will be one of the best true 'world cars' when it debuts later this year, and finally goes on sale in 2008. We won't be seeing the new Epsilon II Vectra (in the form of the Aura) until 2010 at the earliest, and thats a damn-shame...

I must have missed this thread first time around...

I look the look of this new car. 👍

The large intakes at the front are very similar to the GTR IMO, so they can go. As for the exhaust, I think the tips should be removed for 'normal ' versions, and put these good looking tips on the sport version if they do one...

Overall - best looking Vectra ever!

Well, it's a GM product... you would say that, wouldn't you? ;)

I'm with Kent on this one; the concept made my jaw drop, but that newer illustration is a step backwards as far as I'm concerned. Profile-wise, it's not too bad, and it would really put it into the Altima/Camry club (the current Aura looks like a smaller car, to me, even if they are pretty close). However, that front end is too fussy. Maybe the chrome would be minimalized for performance models (I'm assuming), but that looks way to glitzy for me. Also, for some reason I'm getting hints of Primera in the rear. But either way, it is just an illustration, so it doesn't mean much yet.

The roofline and side windows sort of remind me of an Aston Martin. But unlike an Aston Martin, this thing isn't in British Racing Green. It does have some G35 lines to it. This is just a concept. However, I hope the front bumper and ducts underneath the headlights look much better in its final release. The wheels are laughable. I'd probably go with a set of classy 5-spoke, 6-spoke, or even 8-spoke wheels all around. No complaints at the rear except for the muffler design. I know it's a concept, but at least something a bit more classy. No complaints about the interior. On the grounds that this is only a concept, I'm giving this design 80% approval.

Did I maybe see a bit of a Bangle-Butt? The car looks like it will be quite successful. Oh, and the big nose on that thing reminds me a lot of the Toyota Camry.

Saturn does have a long ways to go, though. They have to overcome that terrible brand image of the POS you are stuck behind that is going 10mph under on a one-lane hiway. All the people I talk to that don't know that Saturn is the US Opel are sure that this cars will SUCK.

As for the concept to production thingy, I am a little disappointed. A lot of you said that you loved the concept but the product wasn't nearly as good. That is to be expected. Production models aren't nearly as fantastic as concepts. However, seeing that the illustration has few of the cool, radical styling elements of the concept, I'll have to say 👎.

Will the REAL Prototype photos help?

...Looks good to me...

^ I like the overall shape of that sedan above, however the rear-end apes the 6-series, not good at all. :indiff:

Here are a few more prototypes with better views:

This is probably as clear as we're going to get until they take all the camo off. To be honest, I'm still liking the look, particularly given that its just going to be a 'normal' car. You can't always expect the concept to make it to production, particularly when you're going from a coupe to a sedan, but even then, GM has said that they want to do the coupe version of the Vectra anyway...

...I see dual-exhausts too. Must be for that 2.7L Turbo engine. Nice interior too...

FULL REVEAL!

There is a bit of Photochopping done there, but I'd bet its close.

...Looks good I say...

Front = BMW 3-series, rear= BMW 6 series...👎

👍 For a BMW but Opel just did a copy/past of that 👎

Why is the front slightly saying Maseratti Quattroporte to me???

Back looks really nice

They killed it. Go back to the concept.

It now looks more like a generic mid-sized Japanese saloon rather than the generic mid-sized Euro saloon it always looked like.

If those undisguised spyshots are anything to go by, I think I'm going to cry. I can't find a good reason for hating the look of it, but I just do. Maybe it's because it looks kinda bloated. The rest of Vauxhall's line up has a hard edged, chiseled look. This is just too bloated.

While this is not a bad looker, I think I prefer the current model. :indiff:

So do I. More so the pre-bodged face-lift one:

Until I looked at the details I thgouht it looked almost nothing like the concept car. They've chanegd the shapes of the headlights and tail light for the wose, but it keeps a lot of the details, they've just made them bland.
